Capítulo 1382: Vivian’s Dilemma
Luna and Vivian walked somewhere quiet. Luna first politely nodded her head. “Once again, my name is Luna Eleren.”
Vivian also introduced herself. “I am Vivian Lorelei.”
“Are you a noble?”
“I was.”
“Oh, sorry.”
“No, it’s fine. I don’t really care about it anymore.” Vivian shook her head.
“May I ask about your relationship with him? From your expression, you are the one who looks to have the most complicated relationship with him. In other people’s eyes, I can see their admiration. But in your eyes, I can see confusion.”
“That’s rather an absurd question.” Vivian frowned. “But to answer your question, I am his teacher.”
“I see. That makes it clear about your confusion.” Luna closed her eyes. “Then, can I ask one more question?”
“Does it matter if I say no?”
“It does matter.”
“…” Vivian sighed. “Ask me anything. As long as it’s not really a secret, I can answer your question.”
“In that case, do you like him?”
*Cough!* Vivian coughed a few times. The question blew her mind. “What?”
“I was asking whether you like him or not.”
“As his teacher, of course, I like him.”
“I should specify my question. Let me rephrase it.” Luna raised her hand, stopping her. “Do you like him as a woman or not?”
“You!” Vivian stood up and slapped the wall, but she couldn’t answer her question.
“I guess you have a feeling for your student.”
“Are you trying to provoke me?”
“Not at all.” Luna shook her head calmly. “I’m asking this question solely to know your position. Your feelings for him are definitely complicated, but you definitely see him not just as a student. It’s just… I wonder whether your feelings or the prejudice from other people are more important. If it’s the former, I don’t think it matters to you what other people think about your relationship.”
“You don’t know anything about me!” Vivian abruptly raised her voice.
Luna understood from that reaction that the matter might not be about the prejudice of a forbidden relationship between a teacher and a student. It was something else.
Vivian’s complicated feelings for Nathan actually stemmed from her familiar. After losing her family, she wanted to rebuild it. It was at that time she met her first familiar, the elf that had become a new father figure for her.
But that image shattered once again because of the Death Society. Still, those feelings and sensations remained in her heart.
She agreed with the saying, ‘A teacher is like a parent,’ but on another level.
That was why when she accepted Nathan as her disciple, she regarded him as her family. Nathan might look lustful, but he rarely joked about their relationship either, so it made them look like a real family.
Hence, she had a hard time accepting her own feelings.
After seeing her reaction, Luna politely bowed. “I apologize for asking such a question. However, I would like to tell you one thing. People often don’t cherish what they have, but once they don’t have it, they will regret why they never cherished it in the first place. I might be just a stranger to you right now, but I just want to say that it’s better to die trying than to die without doing anything.”
Vivian bit her lip. Luna’s words struck deep in her heart.
On the one hand, Vivian couldn’t really deny her feelings. Her relationship with Nathan didn’t look so much like a teacher and a student, especially if she recalled the time she spent with her.
Whether it was the time she showed her weakness for the first time when Nathan announced that he wanted to go to another continent for her or the time Nathan paved the way for her, it was something she couldn’t forget.
On the other hand, it wasn’t that easy for her to decide, as this principle had been with her for almost a decade.
“If you want to talk to me about it, I will listen. As I previously said, I don’t mind having a lot of sisters. In fact, the more, the merrier. I just don’t want regret lingering around the happy family. I lost a happy family once, so I don’t plan to lose it a second time.” Luna turned around.
“If you want to do it, you just have to sever your master-and-disciple relationship.
“The hardest step is indeed the first step. But most of the time, people don’t realize that they can always take the first step. They just isolate themselves and don’t want to step out.
“!!!” Vivian’s body shook when she heard the other half. People could take the first step without them realizing it?
Those words reminded him of a certain memory. Nathan once lied to her about Charlotte. It might be a harmless lie, but she once said something like if he ever lied to her again, she would sever their ties.
Luna noticed her weird reaction. It seemed that she had already realized the first step, but whether she was willing to take it or not was entirely up to her.
Luna just walked away while thinking, ‘Does Husband have any other wives? I should make sure to get along with them and maybe help them so that we can be happy together.’
All Luna thought about was rebuilding what she had once lost. She had experienced the warmth of a family, so she would just make sure the new one would be the same.
…
On the other side of the base, Nathan smiled wryly as Evelyn was pinching his cheek, while Bella cheered for her. “Keep pinching his cheeks. Do you know what you have done wrong?”
“I kwow, I kwow!” Nathan nodded a few times.
“We almost lost you, Nathan. No, we almost lost you twice! You told us that you wanted to use the second prince to lure out the Death Society, so you should have told us that the time had arrived. Then, there was also the matter of the alpha class alien.
“If it were the usual you, you would have teleported the alien outside the prison and reentered the prison to get everything before escaping.” Bella’s arms were shaking out of frustration. She was just too worried about his well-being. And it’s not like Nathan couldn’t understand it.
