Chapter 1366: Hidden Alien
“Murders…” Regina’s expression turned dark. They had forgotten this fact. They should have noticed it right away.
It might be simply that he felt astonished by the grand prison or their eyes clouded with greed from all the cores, but it was true that this possibility might actually be the explanation for what happened to this place.
Regina and Luna summoned all their familiars, getting ready for battle. Nathan also summoned the rest of the familiars, excluding Kun and Orochi. They were simply too big and couldn’t shrink their bodies.
“I think we should stop the exploration right now,” Xolotl warned him. “We should head straight to the bottom right away. As soon as we clear this doubt, we can restart it again.”
“I don’t like this.” Nathan smiled wryly while adding, ‘Especially with my luck. What next? Something bad is going to happen, and it will turn from bad to worse…’
Mae added, “Master. How about taking a break right now? Rather than jumping straight away, since no visible anomaly has occurred yet, it’s best to recover your stamina and energy first before going straight down.”
Nathan actually had no objection to this arrangement. Xolotl also thought this would increase their safety.
In the end, the group took a short break to recover to their peak. Since they hadn’t done much here, they hadn’t used a lot of their energy, but it was still better than nothing. They had made a mistake earlier, so they couldn’t afford to make another one because they had rushed it.
During that time, Nathan kept considering a few possibilities and preparing plans to react.
After thirty minutes, they stood up. “Let’s go.”
Nidhogg gently grabbed two floors to support himself as he positioned himself on the 12th floor to provide any cover fire.
Then, the rest jumped off. They landed smoothly on the bottom floor.
When they looked around, there didn’t seem to be anything weird.
“I couldn’t see any difference between this floor and any other floors. At least not visually,” assessed Regina.
“This is…” Xolotl, on the other hand, bent his knees and placed his hand on the ground.
Luna looked back while her golems scattered all around the floors to check if they had missed anything.
Xolotl suddenly warned her. “Girl. Retract your golems right away. Something is wrong. This is not any energy. It hasn’t dissipated yet, but this is clearly the power of rule.”
“!!!” Both Luna and Nathan understood what he meant, but Regina had never heard anything about it. “Rule? What is the power of rule?”
Luna hurriedly retracted her golems as multiple magic circles formed on the floor, forming a dome-shaped barrier to protect them. “Is it truly the power of rule? Is it the power of the summoner who had Heimdall?”
“No.” Xolotl shook his head.
“What is the power of rule? Can anyone explain it to me?” Regina pointed at herself, begging for an explanation.
Luna let out a long sigh. “Basically, the power to become a divine being. I don’t have time to do the full explanation, especially for you.”
“Divine…” Regina gasped.
Xolotl continued, “This shouldn’t be the power of a human. This kind of power… It is similar to that of an alien. The process of a human becoming a god and an alien becoming a god is different.”
Regina dropped her jaw. Xolotl easily spoke a secret that no one had ever heard before. For some reason, Luna had already known that a normal human could become a god.
But the most shocking thing was the fact that this power belonged to an alien.
“This… doesn’t look good… Unlike humans and any other species, those bastards don’t have the power of faith.”
“Sorry, this one is out of my scope either.” Luna shook her head.
“To become a god, you need your godhood. However, there is another way to accomplish it or maybe accelerate it. While this method is only good as a supplementary path, some are utilizing belief to increase their power as their main way.
“Nevertheless, no matter how small it is, the power of beliefs will be felt from your power. Even if that person is only yourself or your significant other, you will still feel it.
“However, aliens don’t have any beliefs whatsoever. The lack of belief means this is the power of an alien. The fact that this power hasn’t dissipated yet even though there is no belief means the owner of this power is still alive.”
“!!!” Regina took a step back. “Are you saying that an alien god is here?”
Xolotl just looked at Regina and sighed, as he was too exhausted to explain everything to her.
Nathan’s expression turned solemn. He had been listening to their conversation while actually expanding his Spatial Sense to check the surroundings. Since it was still alive, there might be a living creature in this place.
But what he found was much more shocking.
There was actually a hole in one of the cells. This hole led somewhere.
Before he could even tell them about it, Nathan felt chills down his spine as if an invisible power struck his own spatial sense.
“Watch out!” Nathan shouted.
Xolotl, Luna, and Fenrir noticed a split second later. Luna hurriedly exerted more power to strengthen her barrier, only to find it shatter before her eyes.
A humanoid alien broke through the ground.
Fortunately, her golems reacted fast as they all sent forth their respective minerals to create a layer, which joined together to create a thick wall.
The minerals shattered one by one, but this little time was enough for Regina to react. But instead of Regina, Nathan had an even better idea. He teleported everyone near him three floors up to gain some distance to assess what was happening.
It was indeed an alien, but it was surprising that even the combined defense of Luna and her familiars failed to block a single punch of this alien.
“This is…” Xolotl subconsciously smirked as if he recognized this power. “It’s no wonder we couldn’t sense it. This guy actually used the materials of the tower to block our senses. We couldn’t sense everything outside this prison, and this alien was using it as its strategy to lure us down. Looking at this strength, without a doubt, it is…”
Nathan’s face darkened. “…an alien above the elite class, an alpha class alien!”
