Capítulo 1363: Grave Robber
“This is…” Nathan and the others had their mouths wide open as they looked around. They had been teleported to a place most likely underground.
This place was massive. There were multiple huge support pillars that became the foundation of this place. The area was in the shape of an octagon with an empty space in the middle. It was filled with huge chains that were connected from one platform to another as if becoming the stabilizer of this place.
When they reached the railing, they lowered their vision, only to find a bottomless pit. Even though it was dark, they could see fairly far in the dark, but even with their eyes, they couldn’t see how deep this place was.
Nathan thought this place would smell bad, but for some reason, the smell was the same as the outside. It had a clear air that seemed to have been continuously circulating for hundreds of years.
From this area, they could see a huge room on the floor beneath them. It was a huge prison cell linked to the huge door on the side.
Although most things had decomposed, it didn’t look like everything had disappeared. He could see alien cores as well as skeletons.
They had indeed arrived at the Endless Prison, since it matched the Endless Prison’s description.
Nathan’s expression turned solemn, not forgetting how Fenrir was the one activating the portal to get here.
He turned his head to Fenrir, asking, “How are you able to know about the portal?”
“What? Are you looking down on my intelligence as well?” Fenrir squinted his eyes.
“No. You were chained down, so it didn’t make sense for you to know about the mechanism. And Nidhogg…” Nathan frowned.
“Heh. It’s simple.” Fenrir chuckled. “That tree is nothing but a fake one. It is used to make people believe they are doing the right thing. When you charge that tree to the brim, nothing will happen. You will then start to wonder if you have done anything wrong and search for clues related to the trees, not knowing it is a fake.
“The real way to activate this place is by positioning yourself according to the sun or the moon’s current position. The teleportation circle will change its position depending on the time. But even though you are able to locate the teleportation circle, you still need one thing.
“That is the power of Yggdrasil.”
“Yggdrasil? The divine tree?” Nathan widened his eyes.
Fenrir nodded. “Yggdrasil was not just a regular tree. It was a divine tree that connected all realms. In other words, its power spread throughout all realms. Everyone living there obviously would get this power, but only people like me or stronger can use that power. It’s not a power that strengthens you. It’s more like an identification.
“In other words, this portal can only be used by those who are from the nine realms. Maybe Heimdall is homesick. Trying to find someone from the same world or whatever.” Fenrir rolled his eyes. “Either way, that’s how the portal works.”
“How do you even know about this?” Nathan tilted his head in confusion.
“That person told me. I saw it entirely. As for that scorched flying lizard, why do you think he’s known to be the cleaner of the Ragnarok?”
“…” Nathan fell silent. “That person… your father?”
Fenrir didn’t say anything, but the silence was enough for an answer. It was indeed Loki. In other words, Fenrir knew about it simply because of Ragnarok.
“Yggdrasil. So that’s the esteemed name of the divine tree.” Xolotl squinted his eyes. “I’ve long heard of a divine tree that is far from my place that is said to be capable of supporting nine realms. So, it’s from your world. You may say that this tree is like me.
“It is sacrificing its life to support those worlds, while my life was used to transport the future.” Xolotl nodded in understanding.
Fenrir just nodded without saying anything. In the end, he didn’t know much about Yggdrasil.
Both Luna and Regina were simply dumbstruck. What did they just hear?
Yggdrasil? Divine Tree? A tree that could support nine realms? The strongest familiar was actually homesick?
For Regina, the most important fact was that Fenrir actually used this portal. He was indirectly implying how high his status was.
In other words, Fenrir was actually a divine being that might be as strong as Heimdall, if not stronger.
Regina had been wondering how strong the familiar was, so this confirmed her doubts.
The fact that Nathan’s other familiars were equal to Fenrir meant they were also divine beasts. But Xolotl must be on a whole new level, as he took on two of Frequency’s familiars.
This alone showed how terrifying Nathan’s existence was. 8 divine beasts that could be as strong as Heimdall and 1 divine beast on a whole new level. And Nathan was the summoner capable of summoning them.
Luna, on the other hand, focused on the fact that Nathan had enough potential to fulfill his promise to her. As long as her brother could be freed, she could wholeheartedly dedicate her life to Nathan.
Nathan pointed to the back. “How about this place? Does it have any special mechanisms?”
“I don’t know about that. From the looks of it, it doesn’t seem similar to any structures I’d seen in Asgard. It’s probably the creation of the people in this world, so it’s your problem, not mine.” Fenrir shook his head. “I only know about the portal.”
“I see. I guess exploring this place is indeed necessary. Besides, it looks like we can harvest alien cores here.” Nathan nodded. He turned around while gripping the railing. It looked like exploring this place would take a while.
“Do you sense any living being here?” Nathan asked another question.
“Not that I can sense right now.” Fenrir shook his head. “It’s better for Anubis to handle the explorer than for me. This place reeks of death after all.”
“Indeed.” Xolotl nodded. “The death energy is overwhelming in this place. I don’t know how many aliens or even people have died here. There might be diseases spreading around, so Anubis…”
“What do you think I have been doing this whole time?” Anubis rolled his eyes. He had been activating his healing power the whole time, but fortunately, there were no abnormalities yet. “Just don’t touch anything. It’s better to use the golems to excavate things.”
“Let me inspect them first. Even though this place is Endless Prison, what we are doing is more similar to that of a grave robbing. Some items will definitely have death qi. You don’t want to be cursed or harmed.” Qilin stepped forward.
“…”
