Capítulo 1362: Smug Fenrir
A moment ago.
After traveling for more than 10 days, they had finally arrived at the foot of the mountain of their destination.
It was definitely a treacherous journey. Nathan thought that if he and Regina were alone, they would definitely take at least 20 days to reach this place. They needed to make a few stops to fully recover their strength.
After all, they had to take down 5 elite class aliens just to reach this place.
Once they reached the mountain, finding the entrance was not that hard, especially with the help of Luna’s golems. She spread them out and let them find the entrance, which didn’t take over 40 minutes.
“This is the Endless Prison?” Nathan lifted up his gaze. There was a cave at the foot of the mountain. When they entered the cave, they found a massive door at the end of the cave.
Despite being abandoned for hundreds of years, the gate seemed to maintain its sturdiness.
“This should be. According to the book, there should be three symbols on the door. They are sun, tree, and moon.”
Luna snapped her fingers as a magic circle shone brightly to light up the cave. They examined the gate from the bottom until their vision halted upon seeing a massive tree drawn on the gate.
On the left side of the tree was the sun, while the right side was occupied by the moon.
“This is indeed the place…” Regina nodded in confirmation. “In that case, we only have to enter. Let me try the method that I have prepared.”
“Can’t we just break open this place?” Luna asked, ready to blow this place up with her magic.
“If we do that, the entire prison might collapse. Besides, this special mechanism is what isolates this place from outsiders.” Regina warned her.
Luna looked away as if she were disappointed that the problem couldn’t be solved with a simple solution. Still, she examined the gate carefully, trying to study the process of making this gate, albeit nothing could be found from the gate.
Regina first approached the gate before placing her hand on it. Then, she accumulated a huge amount of energy before channeling it into the door.
“Mhmm!” Regina scoffed as a burst of energy shook the door.
Unfortunately for her, nothing happened.
“You can’t open it?” Luna asked while furrowing her eyebrows. If they couldn’t even open the door, then it was useless to come here.
“This is the first method. I still have two other methods that I have yet to try.” Regina waved her hand, reassuring her.
Since the first one had failed, Regina summoned her familiar. Both of them rose into the air and placed their hands on both the moon and the sun symbols.
Once they exchanged nods, they poured their energy into these two symbols. “Haaaa!”
They poured a huge amount of energy, which, to their surprise, caused the cave to light up a bit.
“!!!” Luna and Nathan noticed that the bottom of the tree was actually glowing as if it was absorbing the ena.
“As expected…” Regina smiled. “As long as we pour the ena into these two symbols at the same time, the tree symbol will light up. Once everything is lit up, we will be teleported inside.
“The huge amount of ena is what makes this gate hard to enter. The only way is for two summoners of my level to pour all our ena.” Regina turned to Luna, expecting her to help.
“You’re asking for my help, but you probably should have been more prepared, considering you claimed to be preparing to come to this place. If it were you alone, you could probably open this gate after three days, and you would still empty out all your ena…”
Regina opened her mouth, as she couldn’t really say that her claim was bullshit. She just said so to convince Nathan to go with her. This trial would be something that could deepen their bonds after all.
However, Luna added, “We don’t even know what kind of place the Endless Prison is. There’s no telling whether all the aliens inside have died or there is another threat that we are not aware of.
“If we empty out our energy to open this gate, once we enter the gate, we will be in trouble.” Luna shook her head helplessly. “Please think of it rationally.”
Nathan smiled wryly. While pointing at Luna, he nodded. “Actually, I agree with her opinion. At this rate, we’ll have to take turns pouring our energy here, including our familiars. As long as we maintain high enough energy, it should be fine. But it means we have to continuously pour our energy bit by bit for a few days.”
Regina scratched the back of her head. “Or should I just fill it up myself? I will have to rely on you two to protect me when we enter.”
Luna looked at Nathan, asking for his decision. Nathan thought for a moment before saying, “I guess we should just take turns. It’s better this way.”
Luna accepted his decision. “Alright then.”
She summoned his familiars as Nathan followed suit. Unfortunately, Orochi, Kun, and Nidhogg were too big for this place. Still, he had Xolotl, so it should be fine.
Nathan informed, “As all of you see in front of you, we have to pour our ena into the two symbols like that.”
Regina and her familiar showed it, which filled up the tree.
“Just make sure you conserve 80% of your energy at all times. Once you pour 20% of your energy, switch with the others and recover your energy in the meantime.”
Seeing the tree getting filled with energy, they all nodded their heads, understanding their assignment.
To Nathan’s surprise, Fenrir actually sneered. “Heh.”
“What’s that?” Nathan frowned.
“I might have been chained the whole time, but I have seen it once. This is not a gate. It’s a portal.”
“So?”
“I’m telling you how stupid you are trying to fill up that tree whatsoever.”
“What are we going to do then?”
“I tell you, this is a portal. In this world, that scorched flying lizard and I are probably the only ones who can open it.” Fenrir harrumphed and walked to a certain spot in front of the gate. He then poured his energy into the ground as a magic circle suddenly appeared underneath his feet.
“!!!” All of them couldn’t help but widen their eyes.
“Come in.” Fenrir had a smug smile on his face.
