Chapter 1272: Attack

The moment they reached the top of the wall, no aliens seemed to be arriving yet.

Nathan thought he knew how far their senses reached, but these sensory-type summoners might be much more amazing than he originally thought.

Despite having an argument with him for one or two minutes and the time they took to reach the wall, the aliens hadn’t arrived yet.

It was clear that he could feel at least a few kilometers ahead.

The overseer sought a man clad in black armor.

“Commander Austin. There are five elite class aliens. I’m assuming the number is more than forty thousand.”

“What took you so long, Louis?” The commander of the fortress asked.

“He claimed to be able to take down an elite class alien in one minute.” The overseer shrugged.

“I never told you I could take it down. I merely told you I could make it disappear.” Nathan corrected him.

“I don’t care.” Austin waved his hand while raising his voice. He looked at Nathan with a grim expression. “Can you really do that?”

The commander himself was a crystal fusion stage summoner, so he didn’t believe he could do it.

Nathan, on the other hand, just shrugged. “I have an agreement to fulfill.”

The commander wanted to say something, but he heard a soldier saying, “I’ve spotted the aliens!”

They all directed their gazes to the front. Aliens, small or big, appeared one after another on the horizon. Before long, their entire vision was filled with so many aliens that they couldn’t count them anymore.

And among them, there were five powerful presences among them, which alerted everyone.

The overseer couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows. “We’ve got a problem, Austin.”

“What do you mean?”

“One of them seems to be a plant-type alien. Its ena is spreading.” The overseer squinted his eyes. “I’m afraid that this attack is much more coordinated than I thought. Fortunately, there are no aliens coming from underground.”

“What? So, the plant-type alien, which is not only stronger than other types, is controlling other aliens to make a coordinated attack?”

“Yes. I only have the White Flower Brigade with me. Their captain is a crystal armor stage summoner. Other groups are not here at the moment.”

“I have two summoners of that level. That means we might have to join the battle since our opponent is like that.” Austin nodded with a serious expression.

“Excuse me.” Nathan raised his hand.

The commander and the overseer turned their heads around. “We don’t have any time for your bullshit, kid.”

“What will happen if you remove that plant-type elite class alien?”

“Do you not even know what that means?” Austin gritted his teeth.

“Sorry, I’ll rephrase my question. What will happen if that alien is far away from the aliens it controls?”

“…” Austin was tongue-tied, while the overseer said, “It’s obvious. Unless they’re within a certain range, the elite class alien won’t be able to control them anymore. It will result in the collapse of its army.”

Nathan thought for a moment before saying, “I can use my power on that plant.”

“!!!” Austin widened his eyes.

“What do you mean?” The overseer was still skeptical.

Nathan simply showed the map earlier and made it disappear.

In that instant, both of them knew what Nathan was talking about.

“Space element?” The overseer widened his eyes. Nathan was actually planning to teleport the plant alien away, which meant the aliens it controlled would crumble.

This was what Nathan meant by chopping its head.

“I told you earlier. I can bring one elite class alien away, but not more. But because this is a plant-type alien, I will need your assistance. If you can just distract the other aliens from reaching me, I will do it.”

Once they heard the full details, they realized Nathan might be able to do it. If they could somehow remove this plant from the equation, the situation would improve tremendously.

So, Austin was the first one to reply. “I will arrange that. You need to help out as well, Louis.”

“Fine.” Louis snorted. It looked like Nathan wasn’t just all talk. “Get ready. You will have one minute at most.”

“Just one question. I need directions to a place where no one is nearby, including aliens. It will be useless if I do it and realize it’s useless because I don’t know that information.’

Louis paused for a moment before pointing in a certain direction. ‘There is nothing within 7 kilometers in that direction.’

Nathan nodded while Austin started arranging everything to ensure smooth progress.

He adjusted his mask while moving to his position.

‘Master. Am I going to be the one dealing with it?’ Mae asked.

‘I have no other choice. It’s not like anyone can do it,’ Nathan replied. He had no other choice either.

‘This is going to be hard. In that case, you should use Fenrir for maximum power. But with your power, teleporting an elite class alien while it is resisting your teleportation will not be easy. You will need a much larger amount of ena to accomplish it. That’s why even Evelyn won’t teleport her opponent.’

‘I know that. But that’s the plan. This should be enough for my contribution.’ Nathan took a deep breath. The aliens were coming closer and closer, so Nathan recalled Mae first and switched to Fenrir.

‘You know what to do.’

Fenrir sneered, ‘Then I don’t need your control. I will control my own body this time.’

‘That will make it easier.’ Nathan nodded.

“Incoming!” Austin finally shouted, preparing both the soldiers and the mercenaries. “All summoners. Attack!”

The summoners and their familiars began to release their power. Some summoners even had long-ranged weapons such as bows.

They all launched a volley of attacks, which blasted the enemy’s ranks. The first thing the plant-type alien did was to send forth a root toward them.

“Incoming root!” Some summoners shouted.

The root was so big that it was breaking through the ground as it moved toward the fortress. If it reached the fortress, it might even destroy the wall.

That was why Austin spread his arms. “Darkness Return!”

A translucent purple barrier formed in front of the wall and blocked the root. The latter carried so much power that the residual momentum caused the wall to vibrate.

Boom!

Austin glanced at Nathan at first as if telling him to get ready before ordering, “Attack!”
