Capítulo 1958: Talking to the gods (1)

The other things that were in this room were given to the former crown prince, though that was only for him to hold temporarily.

After all, these things were important to the sea witches.

The first book was one that had the true history of the sea witches written on it.

The second book was a list of spells that had been created by the sea witches in the past.

The third book was the one that the sea witches would have been most excited about.

After all, this was a list of potion recipes that the past sea witches had created.

Even if the former crown prince wasn’t a sea witch, he had been with a sea witch long enough to scan these potion recipes.

When he did, there was no hiding the surprise that appeared on his face.

That was more than enough to show what kind of potion recipes were recorded in this book.

I didn’t mind if the former crown prince took them since it wasn’t as if I had anything to do with these things. Even if I took them, they would have rotted away since I wouldn’t be able to use them.

So even if we had discovered it only because of me, I was more than happy to hand it over to him to pass onto the sea witches.

Though when I did, I made sure to say, “Don’t let them know that it was me. Just say that it was you who discovered it.”

The former crown prince was confused by this request, but he didn’t deny it since it was a sincere request from me.

After discovering these books, I headed back to where the kraken was because there was something that I needed to talk to it about.

“We’re heading back.”

The kraken was caught off guard when it heard this and it seemed confused why I would suddenly say this.

Though the one that seemed like they were the most affected was Zyra.

When we came back, they had been in the middle of her showing off her experiments. So when I said this, she was naturally unhappy since she didn’t get any information that she wanted from the kraken.

The former crown prince took the lead in this by showing her the things that we found in the library.

It was only when she saw those two books that she calmed down a bit.

Though it was clear that Zyra wasn’t happy about all of this.

However, this wasn’t my main concern right now.

It didn’t take long for us to head back to the place that I wanted to go, but it wasn’t the Merman Empire’s capital that we returned to.

With the kraken returning to its large size, we were able to move at incredible speeds.

With this speed, it didn’t take long for us to arrive back in the taboo area.

When we arrived, the residents were naturally surprised to see us. Though it wasn’t as if they didn’t welcome us since it was only the kraken that had come back with me.

In the first place, the kraken belonged in this place and I was welcomed since I was the guest of their god.

So that was why they all came out to welcome us when they saw us.

It was just that the one that I had to talk to wasn’t any of these residents.

Instead, I had the kraken bring me to the throne that Aestum sat in.

When we approached, it was as if Aestum had sensed our presence and that ball of blue light appeared once more.

“Holy Son, why are you back?”

There was no hiding the confusion that was in Aestum’s voice when they said this.

Even if they were a god, they weren’t able to figure out what I wanted with them.

Though in the case of most gods, it wasn’t as if they were able to read me since I had something that stopped them from reading my mind. Since then, it wasn’t as if there were many things that they could have gotten in my mind.

“I have something that I want to discuss with you.” I said in a neutral and calm voice.

There was a flicker that came from the blue ball of light, almost as if Aestum was wary of something. But in the end, they still said, “Alright, what is it that you have to discuss?”

“I found something interesting when I was visiting the sea witches. I’m sure that you should have already heard about this from your messenger, right?” I turned a bit to look at the kraken when I said this.

The ball of blue light didn’t seem to react at first, but then it moved up and down as if it was nodding in affirmation of this.

I wasn’t surprised since that was the whole point of the kraken being Aestum’s messenger.

“Then you shouldn’t be surprised to know that I discovered something in their library.”

There was another flicker that came from the ball of blue light, but this flicker was different from the one that it gave previously. This one seemed like there was a trace of panic that was being felt by Aestum.

It was strange that a god would be feeling this way, but it seemed like Aestum did react to what I said.

“What do you think that I’ve discovered?”

“It isn’t the right time to be talking about this.” Aestum said as soon as my voice fell.

It was as if they had already predicted what I was about to say…though it also seemed like Aestum had predicted that I would say a bit more than what I had actually said.

But that was more than enough to prove that Aestum did know what I was talking about and to show the guilt that they felt towards this matter.

It seemed that there was indeed something that the gods had been hiding from me regarding this.

And then there are games that you can just play for five minutes without a single care.
