Capítulo 1957: Strange hidden room

“This is the library.”

The library of the sea witches was a place that was quite heavily guarded, or at least in terms of the sea witches. There were several of their experiments that were placed here and several witches that were standing on guard.

There were more sea witches that were inside of the library, though that was more that they were here to look for things that would help their own research.

What this library was was a collection of all the knowledge of the sea witches, which meant that it was the place that sea witches came if they wanted inspiration for their experiments.

It certainly wasn’t a place that could be entered that easily, but they allowed me in since I was with the former crown prince.

In this place, he had some status even though he wasn’t a sea witch since he was married to one of the Five Great Witches.

Though I didn’t really know what I should be looking for in this place.

Even though I had been allowed into the library, it wasn’t as if I knew where to start.

It was a good thing that the former crown prince saw this, so he asked me what I was looking for.

It turned out that he knew this place quite well since he had volunteered as a librarian before.

“I was new to this place and I wanted to help. At the same time, I wanted to gain knowledge on the sea witches, which was why I came to this place.”

“Did you find anything in the end?” I asked him in a curious voice.

He didn’t answer, but the bitter smile that was on his face was more than enough to show what his answer was. But he did say in the end, “I wasn’t able to find anything, but I did learn quite a bit about them. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been that easy to get with my wife. This was actually the place that we met.”

This time, I couldn’t help revealing a wry smile as he went on about his relationship with Zyra.

I might have been interested in this if it was any other time, but I really didn’t have the time now.

Once we arrived at the history section, I cut him off with a cough and started looking at the books that were around me.

The former crown prince just stood there as if he was waiting for me.

It seemed that he had also done the same when he first arrived at this place and he hadn’t been able to find anything.

Though I didn’t feel that I would have much better luck, at least I gave it a try.

However, it happened just as the former crown prince predicted.

I wasn’t able to find a single thing even though I read through a lot of the books that were here. There was a lot of information about the sea witches and how they came to be, but there wasn’t the information that I was looking for.

Though now that I knew the truth behind the sea witches, I could tell that the records in this library weren’t that complete to begin with.

It seemed that most of the history that was here was some kind of cover…

The former crown prince looked away, but it was clear that he was aware of this as well.

Then did that mean that there was some kind of history that was hidden away?

Seeing the look that was on my face, the former crown prince shook his head and said, “I’ve looked before, but there wasn’t anything at all.”

I didn’t doubt him when he said this since I could already guess why he would come to this library in the first place. At the same time, it seemed like he was a bit too familiar with the history section…

This wasn’t a coincidence.

But there should be something that was hidden here that would tell the truth behind the history of the sea witches.

After all, there was no way that they wouldn’t find some way to pass down this information…

With what I had learned, I had a guess as to where it was.

“Since it’s something that is related to the gods, then that means…”

After thinking about it, I raised my hands towards the shelves that were in front of me.

The former crown prince looked at me as if I had gone crazy, but I didn’t say anything as I waited for something to appear on my hand.

After thinking for a bit, there was a glowing mark that appeared.

“Click.”

Both the former crown prince and I looked in the direction that this sound came from when we heard it.

It didn’t take long for the bookshelf in front of us to start moving.

When they were done moving, there was a hidden room that was revealed.

“This is…” The former crown prince said in a voice filled with disbelief, but I just ignored him as I walked in.

There wasn’t much that was inside of this hidden room, but it wasn’t empty either.

The main thing was three books that were stored here.

With how pristine they were, it was clear that there was something that had been used to make sure that they remained in this condition.

I reached out towards them, but there was a light that came from one of the books when I reached forward with the hand that had the Mark of God on it.

Since this was the book that reacted to the Mark of God, that meant that this should be the one that had some kind of clue for me…

“When he made that offer, I didn’t believe it. However, this was the only way that we can all survive this. I hope that when our descendants find this, they won’t blame me for my decision.”

That was the only line that was glowing, the rest was just a simple history of the sea witches.

It was the true history, but it was the same as what the kraken had told us.

“What does this mean…?”
