Chapter 1825: Outpost (4)

While everyone was still shocked about what the old man revealed, I just asked him, “Have you heard of anything else in this place? You said that this was a pocket in space, so that means that there’s a limit to how much space is here. Have you heard of any other outposts in this same pocket in space.”

The old man was surprised that I had accepted what he said this easily.

After all, the rest of my group were completely shocked because of what he said.

At the same time, the old man himself had spent quite a bit of time processing all of this before he had been able to accept this as well.

So he didn’t expect someone to accept this fact so easily.

But he quickly said, “I haven’t heard of any others in this place. From what I’ve heard, it seems like this was the only outpost that was here.”

I couldn’t help feeling a bit disappointed when I heard this, but I was also a bit relieved.

Since there was only this outpost, it meant that there weren’t more enemies for us to deal with. Since we had already conquered this outpost, it meant that we should have secured this pocket in space.

But there was something else that I had to ask.

“Who was this Apostle of Destruction talking to before this? It isn’t as if it would talk to the other corruption energy monsters, right?”

After all, it wasn’t as if the other corruption energy monsters would even be able to say anything that the old man could understand.

The old man had expected this, so he said, “There were others that visited. From the conversation that they had, it seemed like they were the caretakers of other outposts just like this one. Honestly, it was all because they visited that I was able to find out all this information. They would always talk while they experimented on us since they didn’t think that we would survive.”

When he said this, there was a fierce look that appeared on his face before he continued, “But I survived in the end and I was able to remember everything.”

He looked at me with the same fierce look before saying, “If you can use this information to harm them, I hope that you will hurt them as much as you can.”

The look in the eyes of the old man was enough to show just how much pain and suffering he had endured in his time here. At the same time, it showed the burn for vengeance that he possessed.

This was a man that was filled with determination even with his age, he certainly was not a man to be looked down on.

After he said this, I said with a nod, “Of course, but you’ll also have that chance as well. I hope that you will use that knowledge and work with us to find more pockets in space like this to take them down.”

He was surprised to hear me say this, but he then said, “As long as I can do my part, I will be glad to help.”

A reliable ally with information like him was certainly welcome.

But even if he was a spy that was sent by the forces of Destruction, it was better to keep him close than to let him wander on his own.

This would tie up any loose ends there might be.

Since he was filled with this hatred, I also took out the Apostle of Destruction that we had sealed to show him before saying, “This is the one that tormented you. When the time comes, I’ll let you do the honour.”

The old man released killing intent the moment that he saw the sealed Apostle of Destruction.

It was shocking that an old man like this was able to reveal killing intent that was this dense, but this also confirmed what I had thought previously. It was clear that this old man was someone that had quite the past.

But right now, it wasn’t the time to worry about that.

“For now, I just want you to tell me anything else important that you think might be worth mentioning. I want to see how this Apostle of Destruction will react to what you have to say.”

Of course, I had made sure that the seal was in place so the Apostle of Destruction didn’t hear a thing while I said this.

Though I could see that the Apostle of Destruction had reacted when it saw the old man.

The old man gave a nod before narrowing his eyes to glare at the Apostle of Destruction once more. It really seemed like he really wanted to lunge out and grab this Apostle of Destruction to rip it into pieces.

But he held himself back in the end.

Once the old man was ready, I asked, “How do we get out of this place?”

“I’ve heard him talking about this before, but I just want to confirm something. Did you come into this place through a portal or something?”

“That’s right, we came through a portal array.”

“That’s a trap array to bring in fresh meat. It’s how many of the adventurers found themselves trapped in this place. It can only be used to enter this place, it can’t be used to leave this place.”

So that was what the strange swirl that we found was.

It only made sense that this was the case since this was a place where the forces of Destruction hid. It would be bad if there were those that revealed their secrets to the outside world that escaped.

So naturally this place would be sealed off once someone was brought in here.

The old man turned to the black ball and said, “As long as you destroy this thing, you’ll be able to stop the thing that’s creating this place. The space will collapse and we’ll be sent out of this place.”

I want to disassociate and play a farming game, but gacha dailies…
