Chapter 1824: Outpost (3)

After a long time of being trapped in ice, it seemed like the corruption energy that was being purified slowed down.

It seemed like most of the corruption energy that was inside of the old man’s body had been purified, so there was only one thing that was left to do.

I released the ice that was around the old man’s body and then waved my hand for the saintess to come forward.

She knew exactly what I wanted her to do, so there was no wasted movement at all as she cast a healing spell on the old man.

This forceful method of purifying the corruption energy that filled his body had no doubt caused some harm to him. Then adding in the damage to his body that came from living with the corruption energy for so long.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if this old man was that young anymore.

So it was best if we used a healing spell to make sure that he could recover.

When the healing spell hit the old man, it seemed to immediately revitalize him as his muscles started to bulge. Once they started bulging, the old man started to grow in size.

This old man had a withered body that was the same size as mine, but he started to grow larger and larger as he recovered. It didn’t take long for this old man to go from a withered old man to a large bodybuilder.

Still, the white hair that he had was enough to show his advanced age.

Even if he regained a bit of muscle mass, his age still showed.

But there was no doubt that this old man had been a powerful knight in the past.

Even now, his power didn’t really diminish that much in his advanced age. Though it certainly wouldn’t be able to compare to him in his peak.

Once he had recovered, the old man said with a wild laugh, “Ha, ha, ha, it’s been a long time since I’ve felt this good.”

Then when he stopped laughing, he said with a sigh, “It really has been a long time that I’ve been trapped in here.”

The emotion that was in his voice was very clear.

Someone of his level being trapped by the forces of Destruction for this long really was a shame.

We didn’t say anything as we let the old man gather himself, but it wasn’t as if we could wait forever. After all, there was only so much time that we could spend in this place that was filled with corruption energy.

It seemed like the old man knew this as well. When he came back to his senses, he said, “I’m sure that you didn’t save me for no reason. What can I do for you?”

Seeing that he had a sharp mind despite his age and picked up things quickly, I gave a nod of praise before saying, “The others told me that they’ve heard the forces of Destruction calling this place an outpost, can you tell me more about that?”

“They did say that it’s an outpost, but it’s also something different.” The old man said in a serious voice before turning around to look in a specific direction.

We couldn’t help being confused by the old man’s actions, but he didn’t say anything as he suddenly headed off in that direction.

Following him, we arrived in a room that didn’t seem to have anything other than a large ball in the middle of the room. This ball was completely black and seemed to be filled with corruption energy.

When we saw this, we couldn’t help raising our guards out of fear that this old man was leading us to a trap.

But that wasn’t the case.

After leading us here, the old man said, “This is the thing that is sustaining this place.”

“This place? What is this place?” I couldn’t help asking in a confused voice.

The old man looked surprised to hear this question as he asked, “You don’t even know what this place is? How did you even come to this place?”

A bitter smile appeared on our faces when we heard this, but I still said, “I’ll tell you that later, it’s more important that we figure out what this place is first.”

The old man narrowed his eyes for a second, but he nodded in agreement in the end.

After that, he explained what this black ball was.

When we heard what he had to say, we couldn’t help being caught off guard.

“So you’re saying that this entire place is just a crack in space and time?” I said in a voice that was filled with disbelief.

The old man just gave a simple nod before he continued his explanation.

The black ball was a ball full of corruption energy as we thought, but it was better to call it what it really was. This was a ball that was filled with destruction energy from the God of Destruction.

Since it was energy that was used to destroy, that meant that it was able to actually create a crack in space and time with its destructive power.

So this space was a space that was ripped from regular space and time before being folded onto it.

Once we heard this, I realized what was familiar about this place.

This place was the exact same place that we had been in previously, but it seemed to have been flipped.

So in a sense, it was better to say that this place was some kind of mirror world.

It was a space that was in the same space as the one that we were in before, but it was hidden on a different plane.

It really was a hard concept to understand for those that came from this world, but it wasn’t as hard for me to understand since I came from a different world.

After all, this kind of thing happened quite often in fiction in my past life.

We really need someone else to win worlds.
