Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 1822
Chapter 1822: Outpost (1)
Though I did what I could to pressure the Apostle of Destruction, it didn’t seem to work.
The problem was with the fanatical belief that the Apostles of Destruction had in the God of Destruction.
So it didn’t matter how we pressured it, the Apostle of Destruction just wouldn’t say a single thing.
Even if we were to torture it, it wouldn’t break. Though we really didn’t know how to torture it other than using holy magic and divine energy against it, but that didn’t really work.
It only made sense that this Apostle of Destruction had become an apostle in the first place.
It was only with this kind of fanatic belief that they would be able to become an apostle.
But that meant that we weren’t able to get the information that we wanted.
Though we had destroyed the outpost and secured the area, it wasn’t as if we could stay in this place for long.
First, we had no idea what this space was. For all we knew, there could have been a vast expanse that spread out all around us.
Though it wasn’t as if large patches of empty land would bother us, the fact that there might be others hiding further out was a possibility that was on our mind.
There was no telling if they interacted with each other, but if they did…the other group would eventually send someone to check this place. We had no idea how often or even how they communicated with each other, so it wasn’t as if we could stop this.
That was a time limit for us.
But even before that, there was another time limit for us.
It was the second reason that we couldn’t stay in this place.
It was simply because of the abundant corruption energy that was in the air. After all, it wasn’t as if we as humans and other races could remain in this place surrounded in corruption energy for long.
Even if we had the protection of holy magic and divine energy, it was only a matter of time before something happened with this corruption energy.
So I didn’t want to waste any time that I didn’t have to waste with this Apostle of Destruction.
While I was wondering what I could do to get the information that I wanted from this Apostle of Destruction, a solution was presented to me.
It wasn’t that I had been able to force the Apostle of Destruction to tell me what was happening, it was that we had discovered something else while raiding this building.
In the basement of this building was a place where prisoners were being kept.
It was a surprise to find that there were prisoners that were being kept by the forces of Destruction. It was even more of a surprise that they hadn’t been corrupted by the corruption energy that was abundant in this place.
Though from their conditions, it didn’t seem like they had been here for long.
It seemed like they had been captured recently.
After we brought them out of the prison, we started checking on their conditions.
There were some that had more serious symptoms and needed to be treated with holy magic right away before they were corrupted by the corruption energy. But there were also those that had less serious symptoms that I had brought to me.
“We’re saved?” That was the first reaction that they had when they saw that we weren’t part of the forces of Destruction.
It was only natural that they would react in this manner, but I did something else to show them that we weren’t part of the forces of Destruction. I raised my hand and created mist that pushed away the corruption energy, which I also used to surround them.
There were a few signs of purification that came from them, but it didn’t seem like it was anything significant.
The second reason that I did this was to make sure that there wasn’t anyone from the forces of Destruction hiding among the prisoners. It would be dangerous to let someone hiding among the prisoners go.
After the mist made sure that there weren’t any imposters hiding among them, I asked, “What happened to all of you? How did you come to find yourselves in this place?”
They were a bit taken aback when they heard this, but that was because of the tone of my voice. I was using a strict tone that showed them that this wasn’t a question, but rather a demand for them to explain themselves.
So in the end, they explained how they found themselves to be here.
The short of it was that they were captured by the forces of Destruction while wandering on the continent.
These people were adventurers, which was why there weren’t any reports about them being missing. Adventurers had very unstable lives to begin with and they wandered around most of the time, which was why it was hard to keep track of them.
So even if they couldn’t be contacted for a few months, people wouldn’t find it strange that they were gone.
It seemed that the forces of Destruction knew how to pick their targets that they chose to capture these adventurers.
Once they had been brought here, they had been kept in that underground prison the entire time. The only times that they even saw anything was when some of the corruption energy monsters came down to give them food and water.
Though it was very irregular as the corruption energy monsters didn’t seem certain how often humans needed to eat and drink.
Still, they had been able to survive because the corruption energy monsters didn’t seem to want them to die.
Or at least it seemed like they didn’t want them to die yet as they had another use for them.
“I heard them call this place an outpost, but there really wasn’t much else that they said about this place. If you want more information, you’ll have to look for those that you’re treating since they’ve been here longer than us.”
“Outpost…” I couldn’t help repeating after hearing this.
And now KT is 2 games up, ok…
