Chapter 1821: Gathering spot

I didn’t make the ice barrier too big since there was no telling what was here.

I just made it big enough that everyone was able to explore the area.

However, it didn’t seem like there was anything here to explore.

Other than the corruption energy, it seemed like there was nothing else here. Or it was better to say that it was because of the corruption energy that there wasn’t a single thing here.

With this concentration of corruption energy, it would have been hard for things to appear in this place. It seemed like this place was a place that was completely corrupted by this corruption energy..

“Where is this place?” I couldn’t help asking as I looked around.

The others all shook their heads in response to this.

I had made sure to bring people that knew most parts of the continent, other than the parts that were just too dangerous to approach. The hope was that they would recognize where we were so that we would be able to return even if we couldn’t use the array again.

At the same time, the hope was that we would be able to find where the forces of Destruction were hiding.

But that hope didn’t come true in the end.

“You really don’t recognize a single thing? It isn’t similar to any of the forbidden zones?” I asked the ones that were supposed to know where we were.

The only thing that they could do was awkwardly shake their heads.

During the time that we had been looking around, I had seen them look around the area to see if they could find anything that they recognized. I had hoped that this would be the case and we would be able to figure out something.

But even with all the knowledge that they possessed, they didn’t recognize a single thing about this place.

“It seems familiar, but it’s not a place that we’ve seen before…”

That was the only explanation that they could give in the end.

I couldn’t help knitting my brows when I heard this, but it wasn’t as if I could blame them.

If they didn’t know, then they didn’t know. It was too much for me to hope that they would recognize this place and lead us to where the forces of Destruction were hiding.

Since that was the case…

“What do you want to do? The array is still here, so we can see if we can take it back. However, there seems to be more to this place as well and we should probably explore this place as well.” I asked the others that came with me.

It seemed like they were struggling with something after they heard this and I knew exactly what it was.

I didn’t say anything as I waited for their response and they didn’t disappoint in the end.

“We’ll keep exploring.”

Though I could see that they wanted to head back, their sense of duty pushed them on in the end.

So I didn’t hesitate as I picked a direction and started heading in that direction. Since I was the one that was controlling the ice barrier, that meant that I was the one that controlled where we went.

But since there wasn’t anything to tell us where to go, the only thing that we could do was head in a random direction.

I didn’t really know which direction to head in either since I hadn’t found anything, so I just followed my gut. Usually, my gut led me to some amazing places and this time wasn’t an exception.

After walking for a bit, we came across a black structure in the distance.

Even with the distance that was between us and the black structure, we could tell that this wasn’t a normal black structure. We could tell that this thing was created with corruption energy.

Not only that, it seemed like there were things that were moving inside of that black structure and in the yard of the black structure.

“Is this a gathering spot for the forces of Destruction?”

That was what it seemed like with how the different figures that were there moved.

Since we had discovered this place, we had to decide what to do here.

“Let’s attack.” Surprisingly, this was a unanimous decision.

I didn’t say anything since I wanted to let them come to a decision on their own before guiding them, but it seemed like there was no need for this as they instantly came to a decision.

Even though it was clearly dangerous, the group didn’t hesitate to agree to attack this gathering spot. It seemed like all of them knew how important it was for us to do this, especially since we were already here.

So in the end, there was no time wasted as everyone gathered together to attack.

This team that had been chosen was made up of elites, so everyone already had experience fighting the forces of Destruction. Everyone knew exactly how to take down beings that were made of corruption energy.

The problem was…

“Why is it so easy?”

Even holy magic alone was enough to take down the corruption energy monsters. Even though this place seemed to be filled with corruption energy, the creatures that were in the base just didn’t seem to have any strength.

It was as if they were starved of corruption energy.

Since this was a place that was held by the forces of Destruction, it was only natural that there would be someone in charge of this place.

The one that was in charge was an Apostle of Destruction.

But when I stepped forward to face it…

“Ah!” It just cried out in pain as I used a simple attack and then half of this Apostle of Destruction disappeared. When it fell down, it reformed in the shape of a smaller Apostle of Destruction and seemed to be completely out of breath.

It was in condition to fight, so I had the sages use the equipment from before to seal it.

Once it was sealed, I said, “Tell me where this place is. Don’t leave out a single detail.”

KT kind of got stomped in that first game.
