Chapter 1722: Birth of a ruler (2)

“Roar!”

As we were about to move away from the window and see Angela, we heard a sound coming from outside that drew us back to the window.

Looking up at the sky, we saw that there was a giant golden dragon that had formed.

This wasn’t a real golden dragon, but one that seemed to be made of energy.

Noah and the previous king looked shocked when they saw this golden dragon in the air.

There was even a look in Noah’s eyes that seemed to be wondering if this golden dragon was some kind of enemy.

But when he looked at me, he saw that there was a smile that was on my face.

After all, I could see that this golden dragon had a five clawed arm.

Others might not know what this meant, but there was no way that I didn’t know what this meant. However, there was a part of me that couldn’t help wondering how a five clawed golden dragon had appeared in this world of magic and fantasy.

It seemed a bit out of place here.

“Come on, let’s go and see the baby.” I said to the two of them after leaving the window.

Both my brother in law and my father in law looked at me with strange looks, but they still followed me as I went to the birthing room.

When I arrived, I found that everyone looked relieved. However, I could also see that there was a strange look that was in their eyes as they looked in the direction of the birthing room.

It was as if they had just seen something strange.

“What happened here?” I asked as soon as I walked into the room.

They slowly turned to look at me, but they didn’t say anything as they continued looking at me with these strange looks. It was as if they didn’t know how to process what they had just seen to describe to me what happened.

Seeing this, I said to them, “Take a deep breath and calm down. Then do your best to describe what happened.”

They followed what I said before Rose said, “Well, there was this cry that came from inside of the room all of a sudden and then there was this burst of golden energy that came out of the room.”

“Is it the golden energy that’s currently filling the sky?”

“The sky?” Rose asked in a confused voice before going over to the window to look at the sky. She wasn’t the only one that did this as the others also went to the other windows to see what was happening outside.

Once they had seen what happened, they turned back with shocked looks on their faces before asking, “What is that golden dragon?”

Noah and the previous king didn’t say anything as they looked at me.

They had been just as confused by the golden dragon that appeared in the sky, so naturally they looked to me to explain since I was the only one that had a different reaction.

However, it wasn’t as if I could explain what this five clawed golden dragon was to them either.

It wasn’t that I couldn’t explain it, it was just that they wouldn’t be able to understand it since there was nothing like this that had ever been in this world.

“How are the mother and child?” I asked when they all looked at me like this.

One of the people in the room was a nurse that had come out of the room to tell us what happened, but she had been caught up in looking at the golden dragon outside.

Hearing that I asked this question, Noah and the previous king immediately turned their attention to the nurse. They were a bit too agitated when they heard this, so they actually started putting pressure on her by getting too close to her.

The nurse had an awkward look on her face before slowly saying, “Both the mother and child are fine.”

Seeing the way that Noah and the previous king looked at her, she felt like she should add something else, “The child is especially healthy. In all my years of nursing, I’ve never seen a child cry like that before. There’s no problem with both the mother and child.”

Noah and the previous king narrowed their eyes to look at the nurse as if they weren’t convinced by her words, but the nurse just looked right back at them with a calm look in her eyes.

She had nothing to hide, so she didn’t flinch at all.

After a moment of this, there were smiles that appeared on the faces of Noah and the previous king before they went towards the birthing room.

But before they could, the nurse came forward to stop them from entering.

“What is the meaning of this? We want to see the child and mother.” The previous king said in a voice filled with his majesty from when he was still the king.

Though Noah didn’t say anything, the pressure that he put on the nurse wasn’t any less than the previous king’s.

However, the nurse didn’t budge as she said with crossed arms, “We can’t let you in. The mother and child both need their rest before they can see anyone.”

Noah narrowed his eyes to say, “You said that they were both healthy.”

The nurse still had her arms crossed as she said, “She can be healthy and tired still. Childbirth isn’t an easy thing to do.” She even narrowed her eyes to look at the two of them as she said, “Don’t simplify the struggles that women suffer to give birth.”

The two of them had awkward looks on their faces when they heard this.

The previous king should already know this since he had seen the birth of his children, but his worry for his daughter had taken over and he had lost control.

But in the end, he regained his calm and said, “That’s right, we need to let her rest.”

Then he said with a wide smile, “Get everyone to prepare the celebration. Have them give bonuses to everyone that worked so hard to make sure that Angela’s birth went well.”

Noah gave a firm nod of agreement.

It didn’t seem like anything that we could say would stop them…
