Chapter 654: Voidwrought (1)

Lyrah coughed, dirt and sweat covering her face as she tried to stand.

The Matriarch of their Sect didn’t say anything much after she spoke these words out, her own body quite strained at the moment. Though she didn’t collapse like the others, the fact that she had been the one to speak out the words rather than overhearing them like the others meant that the backlash she was facing was orders of magnitude greater.

That said… the fact she was standing at all right now despite this went to show just the level of gap that existed between the Dome of Heaven Realm and other Realms.

It was a truly unfathomable chasm.

The question was, though… why would she say such things out loud if she knew what the result would be?

And the reason was none other than to witness the sight she was seeing right before her eyes in this moment…

Theron continued to stand there in the midst of the destroyed Heart Pavilion. His Tribulation was over, and though everyone had long retreated far from his location, it was impossible that with his cultivation he would miss the words that the Matriarch had just spoken.

Yet there he was, standing tall and straight, not straining in the slightest.

That was all the confirmation the Matriarch needed.

Voidwrought.

It was a level of Resonance that stood beyond all Resonances, the pinnacle of Mana ambience and control—the sort of thing only the strongest amongst the very strongest of cultivating Clans and Sects across the universe could ever hope to touch.

The Matriarch had only seen Primals from afar before, even with her cultivation. The idea of a Voidwrought being before her was beyond her scope of comprehension.

The question was… was Theron a True Voidwrought or a False Voidwrought?

Regardless of which it was, her reaction was more than warranted. Neither was something she had ever been able to come into contact with.

But a True Voidwrought was an existence born with Voidwrought Resonance. It came from their Bloodline, or they were naturally bestowed it by the Heavens.

A False Voidwrought… that was a genius who managed to bring both their Soul and Core to Gold Mancy before reaching Cloud Mancy. When those conditions were met, the Core would collapse, losing any semblance of form and becoming a point of darkness akin to a black hole within the dantian.

Not only would this Core hold an unfathomable amount of Mana—even saying it had hundreds of times more Mana quantity than a usual Mancer wouldn’t do it justice—but this Core would also cultivate at ungodly speeds as well as having ungodly recovery.

As though that wasn’t enough of a shock, False Voidwroughts would have an odd quality to their Mana—a quality that seemed in line with the void. This made their Mana Resonance equivalent to a level beyond themselves.

This meant that a Celestial would have a Mana Resonance equivalent to that of a Primal. Not only this, but if they wielded Gold Mana, their Mana would thus become the equivalent of Cloud Mana.

The rewards were shocking, but they were proportional to the difficulty. The Soul always lagged behind Mana—this was something everyone knew. The methods of cultivating the Soul directly were impossibly rare and hoarded by the strongest of powers. But it was said that even if you had such a method, without adequate prowess, it was impossible to use.

The problem was that the Soul was too fragile. Most Soul Methods were more adequately used by those already in the Dome of Heaven Realm. Only then could they begin to try and adjust things and level out the playing field.

The Matriarch herself had barely managed to get her hands on one recently, and that was a large part of the reason she was so focused on her seclusion these days.

Trying to use a Soul Method, even the very best ones, before first reaching the Dome of Heaven Realm was a death sentence to the vast majority of geniuses, let alone normal cultivators.

Even Soul and Spirit Mancers barely had an edge in this regard. In fact, because of their affinities, their Souls were usually even harder to manage.

As much of an important matter as all of this was already, there was a deeper layer to it all that the Matriarch still wasn’t aware of.

There were actually not just one form of False Voidwrought, but two forms.

The first was a False Voidwrought who formed their Gold Core first before reaching Gold Resonance with their Soul.

This False Voidwrought had all the same strengths long listed. They were geniuses to be reckoned with, monsters of a generation. Even though they weren’t True Voidwroughts, they were undefeatable within the same realm of cultivation and same tier of Resonance. In fact, even those a Resonance and maybe even two above them were no match for them.

However, there was another category of False Voidwrought—a form of False Voidwrought that stood above others.

This was a False Voidwrought who formed a Gold Resonance Soul before they formed their Gold Core.

The first form of False Voidwrought would usually have to wait until the breakthrough point to Cloud Mancy before their Core underwent the change.

This second form of False Voidwrought would experience the Void Core at the breakthrough point to Gold Mancy.

The difference between the two was as wide as a chasm.

By forming a Gold Resonance Soul first, the final stage of the Core before its evolution was completed under its effects. The result was a Core infinitesimally close to that of a True Voidwrought, lacking not in function, but instead in foundation.

Should such a person ever find a way to improve their Resonance to Voidwrought Resonance, promoting from Primal to Titan, and then to Elder Titan, before finally stepping into this legendary Resonance…

They would be on a level all their own, standing at the pinnacle of the world with only other True Voidwroughts to face them.
