Capítulo 669: Chapter 669. Lord Slayer
Huang Er’s face showed disbelief. “You can’t seriously say that! You are an Echos’ general. No matter what, Kazhan’s people will perceive your conduct as representing Echos. You should think of the good of our kingdom. You have already won. Hand King Shou Zou over to the rebel tribes. Let them decide his fate. Do not interfere further!”
Amon was about to reply, but Lin Li called her from the side.
“Brother, you asked us to keep her alive. What should we do with her?”
Amon turned and saw Lin Li beside the Great Sun Hawk. They had injuries, but nothing serious. Atop the Great Sun Hawk and tied was Xin Wuyun.
Xin Wuyun had worse injuries but could still dole out scoldings in anger. “Release me, you heretics…!!”
“How dare you! Release the Bishop!” Shou Zou demanded.
Amon snickered at Shou Zou. The man himself was bound, yet still dared make such a demand.
“Is that a Bishop from the Temple of Divinity?” Huang Er asked. She only noticed Xin Wuyun now. She recognized her robe to be similar to the ones worn by Oredolia’s emissaries.
“Let her go!” Huang Er joined in on the demand. “King Huang San is currently meeting Oredolia’s emissaries because of what you do here. Do not add to the list of troubles you cause our kingdom.”
“Are you serious? Did I not show you the reason for my action?” Amon asked. “I’m going for Oredolia next. This is for the sake of the world! Are you going to stand in my way?”
“… Since you didn’t hand me the proof, I can’t convince King Huang San,” Huang Er explained. “His order is that we don’t incur more troubles with other countries until we are clear about what is truly going on.”
“That is an excuse to stall. The world could end if we stay idle and do nothing.”
Xin Wuyun, who heard their conversation, became more agitated. “What are you saying? Do you plan to attack Oredolia? How dare you! Do you heretics not fear the divine punishment?!”
“I will never let you!!” Shou Zou exclaimed. He again exerted his power. The sand prison slightly budged, but it didn’t break.
“Hm, it seems your loyalty to the Temple of Divinity is not fake,” Amon remarked.
“Of course! I will never let you get near the Holy Mother!” Shou Zou exclaimed.
“Holy mother…?” Amon asked. He had never heard of such a title. Then again, his information regarding the internal structure of the Temple of Divinity was limited. What information his spies had gathered was probably only the tip of the iceberg. “Who is this holy mother?”
“The holy mother is the most important person in the Temple of Divinity!” Shou Zou exclaimed.
“I thought the head of the Temple of Divinity is the Hierophant,” Amon said. He didn’t think the Holy Mother was the other title of the Hierophant. That was because the current Hierophant was a male.
Xin Wuyun replied to him. “The Holy Mother is the most sacred existence. Even the Hierophant must respect and listen to her. She is one blessed by Heaven. You and all the heretics who go up against our temple will not succeed as long as she exists!”
“Mm… We will see. Li, keep her safe. I still have many things I want to ask her. I will do that once this battle ends,” Amon told Lin Li. He turned to look at the battle near the capital’s wall. Things had also slowed down there. The Yuanxu Cannons had stopped firing. It appeared that many Kazhan’s soldiers had surrendered. The ones still resisting were too jumbled with the troops from their side that if the cannons fired, they would hit their own people too.
“Hold on. General Amon, are you saying you will not let the Bishop go?” Huang Er asked Amon.
“Of course not. She is a valuable prisoner of war who has information on our main enemy. I intend to extract as much information as possible.”
“You are still saying that? Did I not tell you that the king orders you to stop causing trouble to other countries?” Huang Er attempted to approach, but the Beta Puppet pushed her back. She was vexed. This blue puppet was stronger than her.
“And did I not tell you I am doing this for the sake of the world? Our time is limited. We don’t know when the Temple of Divinity will trigger the calamity. We must act before it is too late.”
“Calamity? What are you talking about?” Shou Zou.
“The Temple of Divinity plans to bring a calamity that will wipe out the entire world’s civilizations,” Amon answered.
“That is a blasphemous claim! Your heretical lies will not convince anyone!” Xin Wuyun yelled.
“That’s right! The holy mother is the holiest person I have ever met. You are not fooling anyone, fiend!” Shou Zou added.
“I guess I can count those as your last words,” Amon uttered. He lifted his dagger again.
“Amon, no! Do not do this!” Huang Er exclaimed. “If you do, you will be forever remembered as the man who stained the relationship between Echos and Kazhan!”
“That is one way to look at it,” Amon said. His grin turned wider. “But it can also mean having people remember me as a Lord slayer.”
Amon brought the ceremonial dagger down upon his speech. Shou Zou had no means of resisting. His head dropped and rolled on the ground after one clean sweep of Amon’s dagger.
Huang Er looked at Shou Zou’s head in stunned silence. She didn’t think Amon would actually do it. She didn’t know how to report this to Huang San.
“Let’s wrap this up,” Amon said. The battle puppets that blocked Huang Er’s army moved away. They flew toward the battle that was still ongoing near the capital.
The Earth Elemental released Shou Zou’s body. Amon took and stored the Kazhan King’s space ring. He then picked up Shou Zou’s head. He wanted to show it to the Kazhan soldiers who were still resisting.
“General Amon!” Huang Er called. There was rage in her voice. “You have defied direct orders from your superior multiple times. Be warned that you will face a court-martial!”
Amon sneered. “Princess, on the battlefield, the field commander has the highest authority. Whatever you threaten me with, that will have to wait until I return to Echos.”
“You…!”
“Goodbye, Princess,” Amon flew away, accompanied by the Earth Elemental and his two special battle puppets.
“Prime Minister, are you alright?” Hua Ling asked. She and Wu Di rushed over after Amon’s battle puppets left. Huang Er had told these two and her army to stay back and not attack the battle puppets.
“I am fine,” Huang Er answered.
“Judging from your face, I take it your talk with that man didn’t go well,” Wu Di remarked.
“You can easily make that judgment after looking at the head in that man’s hand,” Hua Ling told Wu Di.
Wu Di shook his head. “Damn, I know he is capable, but slaying an Intermediate Lord Stage cultivator? That’s on another level.”
“You are right. If I don’t see it myself, I wouldn’t believe it,” Hua Ling said. “Where did he get a talisman that can summon that sand creature, anyway? Do you think that spirit beast will remain by his side?”
“If it is, there will be few in this world who can face him,” Huang Er stated.
“Even without the sand creature, those red and blue puppets are also at the Lord level power,” Wu Di said. “Those two for sure will remain by his side.”
“You know, come to think of it. With the power under his command, if he decides to rebel, I don’t think Echos Kingdom will have a good chance against him…”
Hua Ling’s words turned Huang Er’s already grim face grimmer. That thought had indeed crossed her mind, but hearing another person say it made it more real.
“I must send a message back to the king informing him of the events here. Let’s go,” Huang Er told the two.
“Wait, so we leave those Kazhan soldiers to their fate?” Wu Di asked.
“Nothing we can do for them at this stage,” Huang Er replied and left.

The Echos Army under Huang Er slowly left the site. Amon only spared them a glance before discarding them from his mind. He flew above the mass of the Kazhan Army and drew their attention by uttering a loud call. His call also stopped the action of the troops on his side. Everyone stopped fighting.
Amon showed Shou Zou’s head and demanded that what remained of the Kazhan Army surrender. Kazhan’s soldiers were already on the back foot. They were practically being massacred while being surrounded. The sight of their king’s demise broke what little spirit they still had.
They all dropped their weapons and fell to their knees in submission.
With this, the battle was over. The rebel tribes had won, and Kazhan would soon return to its old way. The way of tribal rules without the influence of the Temple of Divinity.
