Capítulo 641: Chapter 641. Still Have Use

“Aahhh…!!!” Zee Whang screamed out in pain from being stabbed.

He endured the pain when he heard a clinking sound. He looked and saw the tip of Amon’s ceremonial dagger piercing his glass dome. It only entered an inch, though. The weapon couldn’t penetrate further.

Zee Whang quickly operated the controls, only to be distressed when he learned the motoric functions of his Supreme Puppet had gone awry. He sent instructions for the puppet’s right arm to grab Amon, who clung to the outside of the glass dome, but that arm refused to move.

“Shit!” He cursed. He checked the radar. When he fell out of the Council Hall, he had sent an alarm beacon. This beacon would draw all his Royal Puppet Army. Whatever they were doing, they would drop those and prioritize his safety.

If he were still inside the Council Hall, the Royal Puppet Army would have to fight through the rioters and enter the Council Pylon to reach him. That would take time. Now that he was in the open air, the rioters wouldn’t be able to block all the battle puppets. Even now, he could see from the radar that several of his battle puppets were on their way.

If only he could hold out until…

His train of thought was interrupted by another clinking sound. It was Amon stabbing the glass dome again. He noticed then that Amon had been stabbing his glass dome at different spots. He also noticed that the cracks on the glass had spread. Amon was weakening the overall structure of the glass.

He saw Amon’s devilish grin then, just before Amon’s black dagger turned into a blur.

Amon was performing the Infinite Phantom Slash. The weakened glass couldn’t withstand the repeated slash. It finally shattered with a loud crash. The ceremonial dagger swooped in through the broken glass. It was aimed at Zee Whang’s neck, ready to split his head from his body.

Zee Whang was not a fighter. He didn’t possess many arts and rarely used them. He panicked when the barrier between him and the outside world was shattered. In his panicked mind, he couldn’t use any art. He could only look at the black dagger coming for his head.

Right when the ceremonial dagger was about to hit, Amon sensed a disturbance. A black blanket suddenly came in between the ceremonial dagger and Zee Whang’s neck. The dagger could not slice through this blanket. A power erupted from the blanket, and Amon was powerless as he was tossed away.

Amon stopped a little distance away. They had dropped to an elevation outside the no-fly zone enchantment. He could fly again.

He saw the Supreme Puppet continue to fall to the ground, but Zee Whang was no longer inside that puppet. Zee Whang was panting weakly in the hand of a man wearing a black robe. This man was the owner of the black blanket.

“As I suspected, Zee Whang is working with a demon,” Amon uttered.

The man in the black robe was Li Zhong. He didn’t hide his infernal aura.

Li Zhong chuckled. “Funny hearing you say that,” he returned.

Amon glanced at Wu Di, who was floating not far away from him.

Wu Di didn’t charge at the enemies like he usually did. This was because Li Zhong was radiating an aura that gave them heavy pressure. Wu Di never encountered a power at this level. He estimated Li Zhong’s power to be around the Peak Lord Stage.

“Peak Fiendish Stage of the Monster Realm,” Amon uttered.

Li Zhong raised his eyebrows. “I’m surprised someone from the surface world is familiar with our cultivation level,” he said. “Xin Lie is right about you.”

“You know Xin Lie…?” Amon asked.

Li Zhong didn’t answer. He instead turned to Zee Whang and said, “Eat a regrowth and recovery pill. Your heart is wounded. I don’t want you to die from that wound after all this trouble to save you.”

Zee Whang realized his blunder after being reminded. He was not used to getting wounded. It was his battle puppets that did most of the fighting.

After he ate the pills, he told Li Zhong, “Kill them!”

Amon was ready to bolt. He was in no condition to fight someone with a power equivalent to a Peak Lord Stage. However, Li Zhong remained motionless.

Li Zhong gave Zee Whang an expression filled with contempt. He said, “You seem to forget that I am not your underling. Perhaps being the top dog of this nation has made you forget your place. If you are no longer useful to us, I would have left you to your fate. You should be glad my superior still has use for you.”

“So… How are you going to deal with them…?” Zee Whang asked.

“Nothing,” Li Zhong answered.

After Li Zhong finished speaking, a black portal appeared behind him. He told Zee Whang before entering the portal, “Your time here is done. After I reveal myself, you no longer have a place in this world.”

Li Zhong and Zee Whang disappeared into the black portal. The portal itself vanished afterward.

When Li Zhong appeared, some of the rioters were nearby. They were chasing the battle puppets that had forced their way to Zee Whang. Some of them were still battling the battle puppets. A few approached Amon after Li Zhong and Zee Whang left. They couldn’t do so earlier because of Li Zhong’s aura.

“Who… What was that…?” Hong Zi asked. Ha Velet and Lin Xiaolong were with him.

“A demon from the lower world,” Amon answered. “Zee Whang has been colluding with a demon all this time.”

“That accursed man! No wonder he is so evil!” Ha Velet cursed.

“Where did that demon take him?” Hong Zi asked.

“To the lower world. He will no longer trouble this country,” Amon answered. His eyes, however, noticed Zee Whang’s Royal Puppet Army had not stopped fighting. He doubted those puppets could track Zee Whang after Li Zhong took him away. That means the puppets would revert to their previous priority, repelling the invaders and subduing the rioters.

“Our battle has not ended,” Amon told them.

He dropped to the ground. He picked the Supreme Puppet and the wreckage of his Alpha Puppet and stored them in his black space ring. He then flew back into the Council Pylon. Hong Zi and the others resumed fighting the Royal Puppet Army. More had returned to the capital after Zee Whang sent out his alarm beacon.

Amon entered the Council Pylon’s central shaft and flew up. He saw people fighting near the ceiling of the shaft. Wai Ling and Wai Kung against Lin Li, Gao Xingzi, the Great Sun Hawk, and the Yao Bird. Wai Kung had the highest cultivation level at the Intermediate Spirit Stage, but he seemed at a disadvantage fighting against more opponents while having to protect Wai Ling.

Wai Ling looked disheveled. Wounds were visible all over her body. She had arrived first and had to fight Lin Li and the others. She also fought recklessly due to her rage after seeing Lin Li. Wai Kung arrived later. He had been persuading Wai Ling to leave, considering the current situation didn’t favor them, but she refused to do so. All he could do was keep his daughter from being killed.

“Hmph!” Amon activated Concealed Ghost Body as he flew up the shaft. Wai Kung and Wai Ling were too absorbed in their fight that they didn’t notice him approaching.

Amon used Invisible Sky Steps once he was close enough. He closed in the remaining distance in a short instance. His target was Wai Ling.

Wai Ling failed to react when Amon arrived. Wai Kung was also blocking a combined attack from Lin Li and the Great Sun Hawk, whose timing matched Amon’s because they had received Amon’s instructions via their mind links.

Amon’s fingers clamped the back of Wai Ling’s neck before pulling her away.

“What?!” Wai Kung finally registered Amon’s presence. “You…! Let go of my daughter!!”

“Stop! Or I will snap his neck!” Amon threatened. Wai Ling couldn’t move under his grip. She was already weakened from her wounds, and Amon was pressing the pressure points in her neck.

Wai Kung stopped after hearing the threat. “Stop! Don’t hurt her, please!”

“That will depend on your compliance,” Amon stated. He proceeded to poke at the meridian points in Wai Ling’s back, paralyzing her.

“Xingzi,” Amon called. He gave Gao Xingzi the paralyzed Wai Ling after she came. He then approached Wai Kung. Engraved chains appeared in his hand.

“Surrender,” he told Wai Kung.

Wai Kung looked between Amon and Wai Ling. “Let her go, and I will do whatever you ask,” he said.

“Surrender,” Amon repeated. “Or she dies right now.”

Wai Kung gritted his teeth. He lowered his head and offered his hands for Amon to tie. Amon proceeded to do so. After the two father and daughter were incapacitated, he ordered Gao Xingzi to bring the two to their army.

Amon told Lin Li and the Great Sun Hawk to stay guard there in case any enemy puppets came. He entered Zee Whang’s private workshop via the hole he had made. Things inside were much messier than when he left this room earlier. He saw that Zhong Yuan was busy searching for something.

“You still haven’t found it?” Amon asked.

“I have not,” Zhong Yuan replied in frustration. “I don’t think Zee Whang kept the control code of his Royal Puppet Army in this place.”
