Amon examined his left arm. It was hit by a Lord-level attack. Yet, it didn’t show any scar. He didn’t even hear Bo Wu’s scream of pain. He understood then that his secret passenger had strengthened considerably since it first came aboard.

Zee Whang was also shocked, but tried his best not to show it. He didn’t understand how Amon could block his attack without a scratch, and the thing he hated most was the one that he did not understand.

“I hate you,” Zee Whang uttered. The Supreme Puppet started shining. It was the tell before it unleashed its rays of light. This move consumed a lot of energy, but Zee Whang wished to end this battle as soon as possible.

When the rays of light shot out from the Supreme Puppet. They didn’t scatter in all directions like they used to. Instead, they converged before the Supreme Puppet. The eyes at the mid-section of the puppet glowed again. The homing beam was unleashed. When it hit the converged rays of light, the combined energy became a massive energy beam. This beam shot toward Amon.

The beam hit and resulted in a blinding explosion that shook the Council Pylon.

Zee Whang was about to turn away, but stopped after reading the data from the monitor before him. “Impossible,” he uttered. The reading informed that Amon was still alive. Not only that, but there was also another being with a power level close to his Supreme Puppet.

When the blinding light from the explosion subsided, Zee Whang could see his opponent better. Covering Amon was a battle puppet. It was smaller than his but bigger than a standard battle puppet. The size, however, was not what concerned him.

“A high-tier runic puppet…?” Zee Whang uttered.

This battle puppet was one of the two Amon commissioned Zhong Yuan to make. Due to time constraints, Zhong Yuan only managed to build one before this battle. Furthermore, the materials used were inferior to Zee Whang’s Supreme Puppet. Even if it could generate similar power, it was slightly weaker. It also didn’t have many weapons installed.

One of the modules installed was a barrier generator. That was how it defended against Zee Whang’s beam attack just now. Even so, burn marks were visible on its front side. Its barrier failed to shield the beam completely.

“I call mine Alpha Puppet,” Amon said with a grin.

“How did you build one?” Zee Whang asked. “I don’t believe an Echos’ puppet maker has the expertise to.”

Actually, Shi Zi from Echos had done so in the past, but Amon didn’t bother mentioning it. He said, “I have your old enemy of the Zhuang Clan to thank for this battle puppet.”

“Zhuang Clan…? There are members of this clan who survive?” Zee Whang asked.

“You can meet him once I pry you out of that puppet you used for a shell!” Amon exclaimed. His Alpha Puppet dashed forward thanks to a jet booster on its back. Amon followed closely from behind.

“Hmph!” Zee Whang harrumphed. He was not worried. Even though the opponent had a high-tier runic battle puppet, he believed his Supreme Puppet was superior. No one could rival him in terms of battle puppet quality.

The two puppets collided with one another, and his belief was proven. The contest of strength caused Amon’s Alpha Puppet to bounce several meters back, while his Supreme Puppet remained in its spot.

Zee Whang advanced when the opponent’s puppet was staggered. The saw chain came out again. This time, from both the Supreme Puppet’s arms. The two saw chains lashed at Alpha Puppet, ready to entangle and cut it.

However, two large flying knives stopped the chains before they could. At the same time, Amon jumped out from behind his Alpha Puppet, accompanied by his other four Alpha Flying Knives. The Alpha Flying Knives shot at the Supreme Puppet but failed to penetrate its barrier.

Amon Alpha Flying Knives returned and clashed with these bladed discs, but they lost in a contest of power. They were flung away upon contact. The discs proceeded to advance on Amon. They were like drones. They could readjust their flight and chase Amon.

While Amon dodged the discs, the Alpha Puppet advanced again after regaining its balance. Metallic energy encapsulated its two fists and turned them into large, golden morning stars. It used these weaponized hands to whack the Supreme Puppet.

The Supreme Puppet couldn’t stop such brute force with only its barrier. It lifted its arm to parry the blow. The impact left scratches on the Supreme Puppet’s arm, which displeased Zee Whang.

“Impudent whelp!” Zee Whang swore. The gauntlets of his Supreme Puppet enlarged and became shields. The shields had sharp edges, which effectively turned them into axes.

The Supreme Puppet swung its two massive axe arms and clanged with Alpha Puppet’s morning star hands. The two clashed multiple times. Each clash forced the Alpha Puppet back. The difference in strength was obvious.

Zee Whang wished to push his advantage, but beeping sounds inside his cockpit warned him of danger. He looked at the display on the monitor and was surprised to see the readings.

He didn’t have time to ponder the readings. He acted immediately. His Supreme Puppet discharged a concussive shockwave that knocked the Alpha Puppet away. It then used the two jet boosters attached to its waist. These propulsive jets were even more advanced than the jet booster on Amon’s Alpha Puppet. These jet boosters pushed him back, just as a pair of black tentacles burst out from the air.

These black tentacles chased after Zee Whang. They were fast and managed to catch up, but the Supreme Puppet’s barrier prevented them from touching its metal body.

“What…?” Zee Whang was alarmed when he scanned the readings from the monitor. The black tentacles were eroding the barrier at an alarming rate. He further used the jet boosters to push his Supreme Puppet away. When he was almost at the edge, the black tentacles finally expanded their full length and couldn’t reach him.

More beeping sounds were heard. He frantically read the warning on the monitor and turned in the direction the warning indicated. Amon was there. He had somehow gotten close. A long, black flame enveloped his black dagger, making it look like a long sword.

Zee Wang quickly controlled his Supreme Puppet to move away, just as Amon slashed his fiery, black sword. Zee Whang watched in shock as the black sword sliced through his puppet’s barrier. The tip of the sword scraped the glass dome, leaving a long trail of scar.

“Tch!” Amon uttered. Despite piercing through the barrier, it was still strong enough to diminish the darkness energy from his ceremonial dagger. Otherwise, the glass dome would have been pierced as well.

“You… You are a demon?” Zee Whang asked. Though his Spirit Sense had informed him so, he still studied the readings on his monitor to ensure. “How did you mask your energy? I know the Lower World has a certain ability that masks infernal energy, but my sensors can see through that mask. My sensors confirmed that you were using divine energy before. Wait… You are still using it now… You can use both divine and infernal energies…?”

Amon didn’t bother replying. Now that he had revealed his trump cards, he must finish the fight swiftly. He lunged forward, while his Alpha Puppet charged at Zee Whang from the side.

Zee Whang pumped his puppet’s energy into its axe arms. The attached axes flared with red light. Each swing produced a burst of fire. With this boost, he fought Amon and his Alpha Puppet.

Zee Whang didn’t have much space to move because a large portion of the hall was within reach of the Elder God Tentacles. The two black tentacles remained hovering. They lashed at enemies within their domain. Due to this, Zee Whang fought without moving much to avoid entering that domain. This impacted his battle efficiency.

Amon let his Alpha Puppet face Zee Whang directly. He remained at a distance while slashing his ceremonial dagger. With the dagger’s true power unleashed, it spewed out a flash of black smoke with each swing. This black smoke traveled forward and cut distant targets.

Amon noticed that three of Zee Whang’s bladed discs came at him. His six Alpha Flying Knives had shattered after repeated clashes with those discs. At the same time, seven out of the ten discs had also been destroyed by his Elder God Tentacles.

Amon formed Water Slicing Rings and threw them at the incoming discs. Empowered by his fused aether, the rings could contest against the discs. The five rings and three discs ended up destroying each other.

Amon used his combined aether to execute Flame Lance once he saw an opportunity. He lunged forward. His lance aimed at the Supreme Puppet’s glass head. If he could pierce the glass dome, he could slay Zee Whang without destroying the Supreme Puppet.
