Capítulo 635: Chapter 635. Zee Whang’s Private Workshop

“Liberator? Hah! That’s quite a claim!” Hong Dao exclaimed. He didn’t sound pleased.

Amon wasn’t upset by Hong Dao’s tone. He replied, “If your pride made it hard for you to swallow the fact that you need a foreign force to save your nation, that is your problem. The fact remains. You wouldn’t have gotten here without me.”

“Hmph!” Hong Dao harrumphed.

“We can argue who has more merits later. We have a more important issue at hand,” Ha Shouze said. “This uprising doesn’t succeed until we defeat the Supreme Councilor.”

“You people go ahead. I will join you soon,” Amon told them.

“You have somewhere else to be?” Ha Shouze asked. The access to the top floor was right above them. Where else would Amon go after coming here?

Hong Dao, on the other hand, was glad Amon didn’t join them. “Let’s go, Brother Ha Shouze. This is Khode’s matter. It should be we, Khode citizens, who settle the matter. We don’t need some foreigner to claim that he liberates us or that kind of shit.”

Ha Shouze shook his head as Hong Dao flew away. He told Amon, “Please forgive him, Brother Amon. We all appreciate your help. But as he says, probably it’s better if we take it from here. We have routed the Supreme Councilor’s puppet guards. Without his puppet army, he is powerless. You can sit back and leave this to us.”

Ha Shouze flew away afterward.

The access point to the top floor was originally located at the end of the spiralling staircase. The staircase was gone. A mob of Martial Realm cultivators was now banging at the closed access point to break it open.

Amon snickered and said, “Those people are fucked.”

“Why do you say so?” Zhong Yuan asked.

Amon didn’t reply. He told his followers to follow him. They flew to the ceiling of the shaft opposite the access point, where the mob was crowding.

“You are sure there is another room under the throne room, aren’t you?” Amon asked Zhong Yuan.

“We used to call it council room, not throne room,” Zhong Yuan corrected. “But I can see from your face that you don’t care what we call it. To answer your question, yes. There is another room under the council room. This room is a space where council members discuss or conduct more private matters.”

“That room should have become Zee Whang’s private workshop by now,” Amon said. He clenched his fist and slammed the ceiling. Words of power flashed around the spot he hit. His punch didn’t leave any mark.

“You won’t break through,” Zhong Yuan said. “The enchantment protecting the structure is very strong. You have better luck breaking through a proper access point, like a door or window, like what those people over there are doing.”

By then, they heard an excited cry from the mob. They started trickling up. They had successfully broken the door that barred their way to the council room.

“Xingzi,” Amon called.

Gao Xingzi understood the cue. The Yao Bird spewed its black fog again where Amon was.

“Step aside!” Amon pushed Zhong Yuan out of the area that the fog was covering.

“Hm…” Zhong Yuan pondered. Could it be that Amon sought to unravel the words of power protecting the ceiling?

He turned to Gao Xingzi and asked, “Does that black fog have the property to destroy engravings?”

“No,” Gao Xingzi answered.

“Then why does he need the fog every time he does it?”

“I don’t know,” Gao Xingzi replied.

Suddenly, Amon’s voice sounded from the fog, “Move away!”

He rushed out, grabbed Zhong Yuan, and pulled him away. Gao Xingzi was responsive enough to move on her own. A deafening explosion was heard inside the black fog. The detonation blasted the black fog away.

After the fog cleared, a cracked ceiling was revealed. The ceiling’s surface, which was not broken by the explosion, seemed to have been eroded. No engravings were visible along this surface.

“The material they used is quite good. An explosive talisman is not strong enough to break it,” Amon remarked.

He floated below the cracked ceiling. He proceeded to punch upward at the center of the cracks. His Bone Shattering Shadow Fist sank deep. He punched again. This second punch brought him through. A hole now decorated the ceiling.

Zhong Yuan and Gao Xingzi entered through the hole. They saw Amon standing in a room filled with various weird equipment. Several half-finished battle puppets were there.

“You are right… He indeed renovated this room into his workshop,” Zhong Yuan uttered.

“Considering the news that he never leaves Council Pylon, his workshop should be either here or the basement. This place is more likely since it is close to his throne room,” Amon said while walking toward a table. He approached the table because he sensed a peculiar object there. On the table was a collection of crystals emitting a soft, purple light. He was drawn because he felt these crystals resonated with his demon aura.

He heard Bo Wu’s voice in his head. ‘Tainted Aetherium Crystals…’

‘You know about this crystal?’ Amon asked in his mind.

‘Of course. These things are a common sight in the Demon Realm. To my knowledge, it should be impossible to get these crystals in this surface world.’

‘This means Zee Whang has ties to the Lower World,’ Amon thought. Amon swept the Tainted Aetherium Crystals and stored them in his black space ring.

Zhong Yuan and Gao Xingzi weren’t aware of his action because they were still marveling at the workshop.

Amon swept his eyes around the workshop, making sure there were no other Tainted Aetherium Crystals in sight, before addressing Zhong Yuan, “You know what to do. Try to find the access control as quickly as possible.”

“Easier said than done. This will be like looking for a needle in a haystack,” Zhong Yuan remarked.

“Then get to it!” Amon replied. He turned to Gao Xingzi and said, “You stay here and protect him. Have your Yao Bird guard the hole.”

They heard sounds of impacts and explosions from above. It looked like the battle between the Supreme Councilor and the rioters had begun.

“I can’t sense them up there,” Gao Xingzi remarked.

“The words of power empowering the walls and ceiling prevent cultivators from probing into this room,” Zhong Yuan informed. “Which means our cultivation sense also can’t detect what is happening up there.”

“Will their battle break inside here?” Gao Xingzi asked. She felt the building shake following the explosive sounds.

“The engraving protecting the council room’s floor should be strong enough to protect us from the battle above,” Zhong Yuan said. He glanced at Amon before adding, “Unless, of course, someone up there has a secret method to erase the engravings.”

“No one like that exists up there. Even so, do not dally,” Amon said. He walked to the hole in the floor. “I will deal with the problem up there.”

*

When Amon was still in the middle of breaking into Zee Whang’s private workshop, Hong Dao and Ha Shouze led the rioters up into the council room after breaking through the door.

The two landed on the massive, open-wall hall where the High Council used to meet to discuss policies and pass laws for the nation. Now, it was a throne room for Zee Whang to look down on the citizens below from on high.

Hong Dao and Ha Shouze’s followers poured in from the staircase entrance. They numbered in the hundreds, and their number continued to grow. Plenty had Spirit Stage cultivation level, but none were at the Peak Spirit Stage.

It didn’t take long for them to locate Zee Whang. The entire massive room was empty except for a giant shell-like bed at the center of the room and the Mental Regulator Transmitter behind the bed. The many battle puppets that used to guard this room were gone. They were the battle puppets that fought the rioters in the central shaft.

Only Zee Whang was left. He was sitting on the shell-like bed, looking at the mass of rioters before him. No expression of worry was on his face. If anything, his face displayed contempt and revulsion.

“What are you worms doing here?” He asked.

“Worms? That is big talk from someone who has lost his protection dogs,” Hong Dao returned. “Without your battle puppets, you are but an overweight Beginning Spirit Stage cultivator. I alone can defeat you.”

“Can you?” Zee Whang asked. His tone sounded amused.

The rioters who came up from the central shaft continued to fill the room. They circled the bed on which Zee Whang was lying. Some even had to float in the air because there was not enough space to fit all of them. One of them spoke to Hong Dao, “Boss! Don’t hoard him for yourself. We have lived with sufferings under his rule for all these years. We all want a piece of him.”

“Hm, very well,” Hong Dao said. “Since I am the man of the people, I will let everyone have the first taste. Go ahead, my brothers and sisters! It’s time for the power to return to the people!”

A war cry echoed throughout the room as the masses of people charged toward the bed at the center of the room.

Just as the people were about to reach the bed, it shone brightly. Countless rays of light shot out of the bed in all directions. The rays of light were so fast that most didn’t have the time to react. The rays of light pierced through them, cutting their bodies and those behind them. The rays only weakened after passing through around four or five people. Those who had already activated defensive arts before advancing were lucky enough to survive, but they were wounded.

“You worms think you are good enough to defeat me? You can keep on dreaming, worms…!!” Zee Whang shouted.

The bed he was on suddenly transformed. The shell closed halfway. A transparent screen emerged from the shell and covered the front part. The bed itself rose from the floor, which turned out to conceal a larger frame hidden beneath the floor. This frame revealed a pair of mechanical arms and legs.

Before everyone could cope with what just happened, they found themselves facing a giant battle puppet with Zee Whang inside it.
