Chapter 1243: Young Fresh Meat
After Feng Qing Rou raised such a question, Carmen didn’t become offended.
Instead, she became amused and giggled.
“Young fresh meat?” She raised an eyebrow before shaking her head.
“He cannot be described as some young fresh meat whatsoever.”
“Y-You’re really having an affair??!” Zhao Xin exclaimed in disbelief. Even though she had her suspicion, she didn’t expect Carmen to admit to it right away.
“Naturally,” Carmen smirked and pointed at the back. “He’s currently lying lifelessly on the floor. Do you want to meet with him?”
“…”
Silent, Feng Qing Rou, and Zhao Xin looked at each other in bewilderment.
What kind of woman would actively suggest that others look at their affair partner?
Moreover, there wasn’t even an ounce of shame or embarrassment on Carmen’s face.
“Wait a second, why are you even here in the first place?” Feng Qing Rou suddenly asked.
“This room was listed under Xu Feng’s name…” Before she could finish her words, she paused and appeared to be stunned.
The same goes for Zhao Xin, who also came to a realization.
“The affair partner is Xu Feng?” Zhao Xin twitched her mouth.
“What affair partner?” Amidst their astonishment, Xu Feng appeared in front of them and questioned with an exhausted tone.
“What are you all doing outside and not entering? Do you want the whole world to listen to your conversation?”
Sometime later, the two of them entered the room as they shifted their attention between Xu Feng and Carmen.
“Living in the same hotel room…” Feng Qing Rou murmured and glanced at the bedsheets. To her dismay, though, the bedsheets were neatly organized and clean, which meant the thing she had in mind didn’t happen.
“Anyway, why did the two of you come here in the middle of the night?” Xu Feng ignored their judging gazes and questioned.
As soon as he raised the question, both Zhao Xin and Feng Qing Rou finally remembered their original motive.
“The 11th episode. Let me see it.” Feng Qing Rou demanded. “You and your baiting 10th episode title is too much. If you don’t let me see the 11th episode today, then I’ll make sure to blast your short drama with negative reviews.”
“That’s blackmail.” Xu Feng said.
“Yeah, what’s wrong with you?” Carmen chimed in and felt insulted. She had contributed the most to the directing. This short drama could also be considered her debut work as a director.
Yet Feng Qing Rou came here unannounced and threatened to bomb her dedicated work with negative reviews, crossing her bottom line completely.
“Qing Rou is joking.” Zhao Xin cleared her throat and explained. “She wouldn’t really review bomb your short drama, but I will definitely charge your hotel’s fee without the so-called friend discount.”
“Now that’s blackmail!” Xu Feng clicked his tongue.
“Wrong! It’s extortion!” Zhao Xin corrected and crossed her legs, her pantyhose quickly shining under the dim light.
“I’ve noticed your short drama has many close-up angles of the actress’s legs, so what do you think of mine? Now that you’ve seen it, shouldn’t you at least relent and grant us more episodes to watch?”
‘Fuck! Everyone has gone crazy!’ Xu Feng was starting to lose his mind and composure. Ever since the short drama was being produced, the women around him all wanted to become seductresses.
This kind of effect went from bad to worse since the short drama was officially broadcast on their website.
It was as if the women had picked up a trick or two in using their feminine charm to get their way.
“Don’t bother asking me.” He gave up and plopped onto the bed. “Everything is set in stone, and no exceptions were to be made. If there were to be any, then that would be up to Carmen to decide. She’s the only one who could supersede my authority.”
“Hey!” Feng Qing Rou was frustrated that he actually went to bed and covered himself with a blanket.
Meanwhile, Zhao Xin knew this path was cut, and her only option was Carmen.
“Speak, what do you want in return for letting us view more episodes in advance?” She asked softly.
“You’re President Xin of the Zhao Enterprise, right?” Carmen crossed her legs and stared at her.
“It’s quite simple if you want some advanced privilege. First, I want a permanent suite, free of charge. Second, you need to donate a hefty amount of funds to our Vanguard Guild. And lastly, I hope you can treat Xu Feng with respect.”
“I can agree to the first two, but the third is impossible.” Zhao Xin flatly responded in a heartbeat. Money wasn’t a problem in her book.
The hotel was owned by her, so giving Carmen a single permanent suite was nothing to her.
As for donating to the Vanguard Guild, she had already planned on doing so.
By donating, it was essentially an advertisement and a paveway for her company to gain traction. Therefore, it wasn’t considered a loss in her book.
However, treating Xu Feng with respect was a totally different story.
Outsiders might be deceived by his current charm and acting, but not Zhao Xin.
She knew someone like him was a devil in disguise. Giving him respect was equivalent to being on the losing end 24/7.
As if she would put herself at such a disadvantage.
“I reckon you don’t treat your business partners rudely, right?” Carmen coolly said and continued, “I’ll be frank here, President Xin. Xu Feng here is Cool Wind, the Honorary Elder of the Vanguard Guild.”
She had long investigated everything about Xu Feng and learned about his past.
When she saw how he lived in those early years, Carmen felt her heart aching.
At the tender age of 7, he began collecting nearby trash to recycle for money just to buy a loaf of bread. As if that wasn’t enough, the orphanage he was living in didn’t even offer anything good for him.
For someone who constantly struggled with life, Carmen could only imagine why he would turn into someone like this: always calculating, stingy, manipulative, and with a constant air of invisible boundaries.
‘You’re no longer alone, Feng. You have me to become your supporter and background.’ Carmen thought to herself.
