Chapter 477: [Dystopian Elven War] [53] [A New Life]
Ring! Ring!
Bam!
I slammed the alarm clock shut as I stared at the ceiling.
The sounds of early birds chirping echoed outside the window as I sat back up.
For the entire night, I hadn’t slept even for a second.
How could I?
This isn’t the world that I fucking know of!?
‘….Well, I can be sure it’s not a dream.’
I let out a sigh as I pushed myself out of the bed.
Moving towards the bathroom, I recalled what happened yesterday.
The moment I woke up in this bizarre world, I ran back towards my home.
….I somehow still remember where that is.
In my panic, I couldn’t even have a proper conversation.
‘…I didn’t even properly talk with her.’
My heart felt a jolt as I remembered Christina once again.
I let out a deep breath before I looked at my face in the mirror.
….There was no visible change from my face back in Lumina except my age, I looked like I was fifteen.
If anything, I have just lost my horns and my hair was short.
Then again, I always kept my horns hidden.
‘….Inna?’
I called her with a tiny bit of hope for a reply.
But…like yesterday, I was met with nothing but silence.
Sighing at her absence, I began to get ready.
….I still have a school to attend.
—
I am fucking late!
For fuck’s sake, why did I even relax in the bathtub?
“Fuck me.”
I grumbled as I jumped down the stairs leading to the ground floor.
Bam!
The sound of my landing echoed within the entire house.
“Azariah!”
A voice echoed that made me flinch.
“What are you doing?”
I drew in another deep breath as I slowly moved towards the kitchen.
Inside a lone woman stood with her back towards me.
Her long platinum hair was tied in a ponytail as she glanced over her shoulder.
“What were you doing young man?”
Esmeray asked turning around, wiping her hands on the apron she was wearing.
“I am seeing you since yesterday, you are acting weird.”
“I am getting late.” I said avoiding her gaze. “I should go—.”
“And who is going to eat the breakfast.” Esmeray replied, arranging the table. “I do not work hard in the morning for you to go on an empty stomach.”
“But—.”
“Sit and eat.” She ordered, folding her hands. “Or do you want me to feed you?”
I bit my lips to hold back my anger but I did as she told.
Walking towards the table, I grabbed a sandwich and began eating.
“Can’t you sit—.”
“I am late.” I cut her nagging voice. “And I don’t want to bother you.”
Esmeray didn’t say anything after that as she passed me a glass of juice.
I feel unbearably uncomfortable just by her loving personality.
My skin crawled but I didn’t let it show on my face.
“I am going.”
I said as soon as I finished my food.
“You are forgetting something.”
Esmeray blocked my path as she said with a smile.
Before I could say anything she stretched her arms urging me to come closer.
I wanted to ignore it but I also didn’t want to make myself even more suspicious.
So I walked closer and hugged her.
Her smile bloomed even more as she kissed my head. “Good luck.”
“You too.”
I said, moving back and walking towards the main door.
Forcing myself to forget everything about that woman, I walked towards the bus stop.
—
The world I was in from my observation was a mix of earth and Lumina.
That’s why this is so familiar yet unfamiliar.
The technology was on par and even better than earth but most people here were from Lumina.
‘….But why is it like this?’
I couldn’t understand as I walked towards the bus stop with my mind preoccupied.
“Hmm?”
But my steps halted as someone closed my eyes with her palms.
“Guess who?”
A mischievous voice echoed close to my ears.
I smiled softly.
“Jennifer Lawren.”
I said wrongly even though I knew fully well who it was.
“Turn around.”
Gently removing her hand, she whispered softly, and I did as she asked with a smile.
“….Seriously, Senara?”
My smile slipped as I noticed her wearing the mask of Jennifer.
“…Heh, you can’t win against me.”
Senara said removing the mask to show her grinning face.
‘…Argh, she was always smart wasn’t she?’
I didn’t bother to say much as we began to walk towards the stop.
“How are you feeling?” She asked, leaning forward to look at my face. “You ran away yesterday in panic.”
“…I am fine.” I replied softly. “…I was just not feeling well.”
Senara nodded softly as we reached the bus stop.
The first thing that caught my attention was the Billboard.
It advertised the show of an idol, whose image was also there.
My lips curled up in a smile as I saw that face.
‘…Echo made it big here, huh?’
The best singer of Lumina really became an idol.
For some reason, I feel proud of her.
“Why are you grinning like that?”
Senara’s doubtful voice made me snap back to reality.
Her obsidian looked at me suspiciously then at the Billboard.
I coughed as I was well aware of her jealousy.
“Ahem, it’s nothing.” I rubbed my temples. “I am just not feeling well.”
Senara blinked and smiled again. “Want me to hug you?” She asked. “It might make you feel better—.”
“Yes please.”
I cut her off as I opened my arms for her.
Senara froze in her place as she looked at my open arms.
“R-really?” She stuttered, more happy than panicked. “You always say no, why sudden—.”
“My hands are getting tired.” I cut her off. “Are you coming or not?”
“Wait a minute, I am not ready!”
Senara turned around, fixed her hair and turned back again.
She closed in my arms as I hugged her.
A relief washed over me as I felt her so close to me again.
Her death still haunts me even though it has been so long.
“…I am glad.” I whispered rubbing her back. “I-I am so glad you are with me.”
I could practically feel a grin on her face.
“Don’t worry.” She whispered. “I am not going anywhere. You won’t get rid of me. Ever.”
Honk!
The honking of the bus pulled us apart as we almost forgot where we were.
I ignored the other students giving us looks as I glanced at Senara.
She was still grinning widely like she had achieved her lifelong goal.
“You are smiling too much.” I said, tilted my head. “Does it feel that good?”
“It does.” She replied instantly. “But I am happy just by thinking the look on Christina’s face after I told her this.”
She laughed which made me flinch as well. “Bitch is going to be so jealous.”
“…”
Did I do wrong by hugging her?
I let out a sigh as the bus arrived.
—
I—or more like the version of me in this world… go to the same school as Inder back on earth.
And I couldn’t help but notice the uncanny familiarity between them.
Getting out of the bus, I waited for Senara as I looked around.
My eyes immediately focused on the boys playing basketball.
I recognized a lot of those students, especially that one guy.
‘…Oliver.’
Senara got out of the bus as she took my backpack.
“Go play, I will put your bag in class.” She said with a bright smile. “Christina will be late today but I can’t wait to see her.”
“….”
Seriously, did I make a mistake by hugging her?
“Az, my loving bitch!”
A thunderous voice echoed making me look back at the basketball field.
Oliver was waving his hand with a bright smile on his face.
“Come on, we have our first class free!”
I rolled my sleeves and loosened my tie as I rushed towards them.
“What’s up, bitch?”
As soon as I entered the court, Aimar greeted me while throwing the ball.
“Shut up.” I said, grabbing the ball. “And why are we playing three against seven?”
“We made a bet.” Oliver said, wrapping his hand over my shoulder. “If we win against the school ace then Leon will give his sister’s number to Seth.”
“Only if you win, fucker!”
A boy from the opposite team snapped, I presume he is Leon cause I don’t know him.
“And that’s impossible even if you add Mr. Playboy here?”
I looked back as for some reason the boy was pointing at me.
“Wait, is he calling me a Playboy?”
I asked Oliver.
He only gave me a weird look. “Who else if not you?”
He patted my back as he moved back. “Alright, let’s start!”
I let out a sigh as the match began.
—
We won the match easily without breaking a sweat.
Come to think of it, my body was quite athletic even in this world.
‘…’
As we walked down the main hall, I looked at the small paper with a number on it.
Leon really gave his sister’s number, huh?
Oliver snatched the paper from my hand as he glared at me.
“Don’t you dare.” He said. “Seth likes her, she is our sister-in-law.”
I frowned. “You talk like I am interested in her.”
“We all know you, bitch.” Aimar chimed in. “You are famous for being a Playboy here as well as in Akasha school.”
I frowned even harder. “Wait, Akasha school?”
He glanced at me but didn’t reply making me even more confused.
“Don’t mind him.” Oliver said grinning. “Bitch is just jealous of your success cause he can’t get a single girl.”
“Shut up, ugly fucker!” Aimar snapped.
“We got the same face, bitch.” Oliver replied back haughtily. “If I am ugly then you are super ugly.”
“That doesn’t make sense.”
“It does.”
I ignored the two idiots as I thought about the Akasha school.
From what I can tell, it’s most likely a school where those living in Akasha are present.
‘…Elijah should be there.’
And the rest of those whom I met in Akasha.
I rubbed my face as I thought of visiting that place soon.
“Seth!”
Oliver’s word made me look up as I found a boy sitting on the corner.
He was chubby with a face that screamed innocence.
Oliver passed the paper to him with a grin.
“Here is her number.” He said. “I got it for you.”
“We.” Aimar corrected him.
“Same thing.”
I kept on looking at Seth who was smiling brightly. “Thanks guys.”
Oliver squeezed his man boobs. “Anything for you.”
Seth squirmed away but I quickly placed my hand on his shoulder.
“Seth.” I said, looking into his eyes. “Is your father in an affair with his mother-in-law?”
His eyes widened in horror. “How do you know—.”
I chuckled as I hugged the chubby boy. “It’s good to see you again.”
He quickly moved away as he still had fearful eyes. “How the fuck—.”
Aimar and Oliver quickly surrounded him.
“What the hell?” Oliver said with a bright smile. “Why did you never tell us such juicy news?”
Aimar nodded visibly irritated. “You should always share such juic—important news with your friends.”
“Az?”
A meek voice caught my attention as I turned around.
A beautiful girl with long silver hair stood behind me.
I blinked in surprise. “Shyamal?”
