Chapter 1103: Hapless Ibrahim…

In fact, Vijay could have avoided taking the Egyptian route and taken the Israeli route, but he did not do that because he knew how eager the Europeans were in order to get rid of him. He did not want to take the Israeli route and unnecessarily endanger his family, not to mention that if he had taken the Israeli route, things would have become much more complicated since he wouldn’t be too sure where the attack would be coming from.

What if a Jew set up explosives in an oil tanker? What if there are still hardline Islamists in the deepest corner of Israel waiting for the opportune moment? What if someone is willing to destroy a whole city using explosives just to kill him as well? And these are only some of the straightforward ones he could think of; there are so many other things that could happen. Although he has the ability to sense danger, he is not Brahma; even his instincts are limited. After all, even if he could predict a tsunami was heading towards him, would he outrun it? The best he could do is make preparations early.

So he stuck with taking the Egyptian route; at least it was predictable. Due to the vast plains in the north and lower population, he could already tell the only area of ambush would be during his journey from Alexandria to Cairo. So even before he had gone to Greece for the Olympics, he had already mobilised an army and had them lie dormant throughout the plains waiting for his signal, and in order not to cause any suspicion, he did not mobilise the army stationed in Egypt, Israel, or even in Greece.

He used the indigenous army of the African kingdoms instead, and had them infiltrate Egypt the same way his assassins did. In the end, the plan was a great success.

Vijay was able to safely enter Cairo, and with the escort of the Bharatiya Army in Egypt, he was escorted to the Gulf of Suez, where his ship was waiting for him.

But unfortunately for Ibrahim Hassan, things were not looking too good.

The Bharatiyas who had just heard the word of what had happened were in disbelief. Some showed a look of relief, some showed a look of nervousness, but a lot of them showed anger.

at Athens at the port

“The Egyptian king should answer for this”, Chandrashekhar Venkatapathy gritted his teeth and declared.

His brother, standing right next to him, nodded his head in agreement, “How did 2000 assassins infiltrate the kingdom without his knowledge? Is he a pig?”

Chandrashekhar was extremely angry, “Let’s cancel the ticket and go to Alexandria, our questions need to be answered.”

His brother thought it was a good idea and nodded, “Let’s do it.”

The people who took the decision to go to Alexandria in Egypt instead of Israel were, although not in tens of thousands, at least a few thousand.

The Port of Alexandria saw the arrival of so many tourists all at once that, in any other time, the Port Authority should have been happy, but unfortunately, their expressions were ashen as they knew what had just happened a few days ago. Although in the end the emperor of the Bharatiya Empire safely went to Cairo and then to his ship, they were already expecting the repercussions, but they did not think it would come in this form.

“We need answers!”

“We demand answers!”

The protest broke out in Alexandria itself, and Ibrahim Hassan was at a loss for words. What should he do? He couldn’t help but resent the emperor of the Bharatiya Empire; did he anger this emperor in some sort of way? As soon as he entered Egypt, he came unannounced, causing a huge security problem and, in the end, causing his power to weaken, allowing the cabinet to gain the upper hand. Thankfully, Egyptian athletes were able to bring home a few medals, so he thought that his reputation would be repaired, but now the emperor actually encountered an assassination attempt, that too from 2000 well-trained European mercenary soldiers, and that too in his own kingdom.

Hearing the whole story, he could tell that the emperor of the Bharatiya Empire already knew something like this would happen. If he did, why did he not choose Israel, why Egypt? Honestly, what the **** did he do?

He was feeling desperate.

Just then, the door burst open, and a security guard ran inside with panic written all over his face, “Your Highness, the citizens are protesting; thousands have gathered in front of the palace.”

Ibrahim’s face began to pale, and he felt like he was put in an ice cellar. For a few moments, his feet were cemented to the floor, but the vague shouts of a mob that were only getting louder brought him back to his senses.

With fumbling steps, he pushed the security guard away and went directly to the balcony, and what he saw made his heart sink.

A sea of people. As soon as they saw him, they roared like they had seen the most hateful creature known to man. Maybe there were at least two to three thousand people right in front of his palace, threatening to break in at a moment’s notice.

“Incompetent king is not required.”

“How do you guarantee our safety when even the safety of the Bharatiya Emperor is uncertain?”

“Ibrahim, you should answer for your incompetence.”

Ibrahim lost his footing and collapsed to the ground. He couldn’t help but feel disheartened. Wasn’t he selected by his majesty the emperor to lead the kingdom himself? He did everything the emperor asked of him, but why was he being treated like this all of a sudden? Why?

In his mind, the mob only came looking for him under the operation of the Bharatiya Emperor. Or else why would so many people from Cairo come to protest, and the Bharatiyas were still screaming at the top of their lungs in Alexandria?

For a moment, he thought of rebelling and utilising the army to forcefully quell the protests, but knowing that there was the hand of the emperor behind it, he couldn’t help but put down his thoughts.

Far away, after being informed about what was happening in Egypt, Vijay couldn’t help but touch his nose with embarrassment. In fact, what was happening with Ibrahim was his mistake. He was the one responsible for Ibrahim losing the respect of his government the first time he visited, and he was also responsible for using Egypt as his battleground without any consideration of how it would affect Ibrahim. But he was not regretting it. He could only consider the interest of himself, his family, and the empire first, and only after that could he consider the interest of anyone else.

Besides, things were not too bad, and if Vijay was being honest, he got the opportunity to see something interesting. He designed the governance system of the Bharatiya Empire in such a way that the empire would be governed by a strong-willed and talented ruler, whether it was an emperor or the prime minister, and the power would tilt towards the one with ability backed by the support of the people. The same governance design was adopted by the Kingdom of Egypt as well.

He picked Ibrahim himself after understanding the local situation and after understanding that he had helped the Bharatiya Army with logistics during the war, but the government of Egypt was actually picked by the previous elites themselves. Ideally, it should have been the people, but in order to maintain stability and to avoid further bloodshed, which would lead the resentment to be tilted towards the Bharatiya Empire, he relented.

Due to this, as time went on, the power of the government tilted towards the government, giving them more influence over the people than the king, that is, Ibrahim. However, even with the gradual erosion of his power, Ibrahim was still very popular with the people; after all, life for the Egyptians was very good. But when Ibrahim further suffered several severe blows in front of the government, the government seemed to have taken the opportunity to incite the citizens in order to compress the power of the king even more, using the excuse of dissatisfying the people of the Bharatiya Empire and allowing the attack on himself to happen.

Vijay has to say it is a sound strategy. The prime minister of Egypt is really a scheming and clever guy, but at the same time, he also found it interesting that Ibrahim did not actually mobilise the army or the people in the executive branches of bureaucracy, like the police or the civil servants.

“Did he think I was behind the protests?” Vijay thought as a smile appeared on his face. “No wonder he is being played around by the prime minister. He couldn’t even tell that if I wanted to take action against him, so much effort was unnecessary.” He shook his head, disappointed in Ibrahim’s political ability, but at the same time, he was touched by the loyalty. “Although he is a little dull, he has proved to be a valuable pawn. He cannot go down.”

Thinking about it, Vijay wrote a letter and had Kattappa pass it back.

Soon, a small boat separated from the main fleet on which he was travelling and sailed back to the shores of Egypt. The letter Vijay wrote went directly into the hands of the director of Bharatiya external pragya of Egypt through various channels, and soon the silent propaganda started in Egypt.

” Hey, brother, why do you think those rich people are protesting against the king? Isn’t the king appointed by the emperor of the Bharatiya Empire himself? Now, how are they blaming the king has disappointing the emperor? ”

The barber was lost in thought.

It was words like this that spread, and it spread throughout the city. One thing the government of Egypt had not expected, or rather, how little attention they paid to Ibrahim’s great image in the minds of the common people and the people in rural areas. His reputation was not because he was some sort of a people’s ruler but because he simply copied everything the Bharatiya Empire did, and that went with the education, infrastructure, support for business and security.

So when the negative wave against Ibrahim hit the capital, most of the people were actually silent and looking at how things would go down from the sidelines, but after understanding that the protests against the king were actually a ploy by the elites in the capital and their cronies to revive the nobility and take control of their lives once again, they were extremely furious and they got on the streets.

Such a sudden reversal was completely unexpected by Sayed Suleiman. He was brimming with happiness and anticipation to take full control of the kingdom, but suddenly, the people actually turned against him. What the **** happened?

The protests only got bigger, and it was observed in all major cities, not just Cairo. Unable to bear the pressure, a motion of impeachment was passed in the parliament, and he was impeached.

Throughout the ordeal, there were two clueless people, or rather one clueless person and one clueless group of people. The clueless person was naturally Ibrahim. One moment, he thought his life was over as he was hated by the Bharatiya Emperor, and the next moment, his prime minister was impeached, and his blame actually disappeared. How the **** did that happen? And the second group of clueless people were actually the Bharatiyas who were protesting in Alexandria, they came to ask for the reason why their emperor was ambushed, but so many things happened in a span of a few weeks that it left them confused, in the end realising that there were things happening which they could not understand, most of them took a ship back to Israel, setting back home.
