Capítulo 990: What They Should Have Stolen ( 990 )
Garius regarded Javier with his usual calm, serious expression.
“Enough of that. Even if you explain it, I doubt anyone in this room would fully grasp it, which is good. That means our enemies won’t be able to learn anything from it either.”
He leaned back in his chair.
“Now, the real issue. You know these infiltrators are using civilians as cover. I could order Alf’s Shadow Unit to silence them right now. One command on the mana talkie, and it’s done. But we still don’t know their purpose. Rushing could mean losing critical intelligence.”
Garius’s eyes sharpened.
“Yet allowing them to move freely is also a risk. What if they’re here to sabotage our water supply? Poison our grain? Assassinate a visiting dignitary? I will not gamble with Armand’s people safety or our allies lives. Or Plant cursed artifacts in public spaces. Start a riot during the weddings or celebrations. I won’t risk our people’s safety for the sake of patience.”
He leaned forward slightly.
“So, Javier… tell me. Do you have a way to neutralize this threat and extract information from them at the same time?”
Javier stood silently.
Inside his head:
Sigh… another pain in the ass. Can’t Kimar just let us live in peace?
Ugh! and father actually asking me? He already know more than me. He could finish all of this before i even start.
He glanced at his father, then averted his eyes.
“Actually… I do have a way, Esteemed Father.”
Garius raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable.
“Does it involve causing panic among our people? I won’t have battle drones opening fire inside our borders unless we’re under full-scale invasion. For a small group like this… we don’t need that level of response, do we, Javier?”
“Ah, no, Father. I know.” Javier kept his tone calm, almost casual. “I don’t want to risk our people either. The battle drones from the Emergency Response Hatch are only for surveillance and tracking right now. They’ll only engage as a last resort after evaluating the risk.”
Garius leaned back slowly.
“Hmm… So what are you suggesting?”
“Since the enemy keeps sending people to disrupt our peace, I don’t think they’ll ever stop on their own,” Javier said. “So I believe there’s a way to make them stop trying.”
“Go ahead,” Garius replied calmly.
Javier laid out his plan. Garius listened intently. Alf gave a slow, approving nod. Hesbeirn crossed his arms and smirked in agreement. Erinnette smiled softly.
Once Javier finished explaining, Garius let out a low, thoughtful hum.
“So this should at least reduce their attempts to send more spies or saboteurs.”
“Yes, Esteemed Father.”
“Hmm… And you’ll be the one to carry it out?”
“Yes, Esteemed Father. I have intel on their… advance agent. Someone who’s been living quietly in Armand for nearly a year, laying the groundwork and waiting for his team to arrive.”
“How long will it take?”
“Not long. But I won’t bring Liana or Gloria. I’m sorry, Father…I don’t want to risk their lives again.”
“Very well. You depart tomorrow?”
“No, Esteemed Father. I’ll leave after this. I’ll keep a mana talkie on me and send signals to confirm each stage goes smoothly.”
“Very well. Let’s hope this reduces the enemy’s desire to keep sending spies.”
“It will, Esteemed Father.”
Garius’s gaze shifted to Alf and Hesbeirn.
“Alf. Hesbeirn.”
“Yes, Your Majesty?” Alf bowed slightly. Hesbeirn pressed a fist to his chest.
“Ensure our units cooperate fully with Javier. Any command he gives is to be carried out without flaw.”
“As you command, Your Majesty.”
“Good.” Garius turned back to Javier. “My wedding is approaching. I trust you can resolve this before then. You know how your mother gets… I’d prefer not to see her upset.”
“I know, Esteemed Father. I won’t let that happen. I’ll wrap this up by tomorrow at the latest.”
“You may leave now,” Garius said, his voice low but firm. “And do not forget to tell Liana, Gloria, and your princesses. They deserve to hear it from you.”
Javier dipped his head. “Yes, Father.”
Garius’s eyes slid to Erinnette.
“Erinnette.”
She stepped forward, poised. “Your Majesty?”
“Ensure Liana and Gloria do not follow Javier. Tell them it is my command.”
Erinnette inclined her head. “It will be done.”
“Good.” Garius’s gaze returned to Javier, a trace of softness in his eyes. “Go to your girls, my son.”
Javier offered a faint smile.
“If you’ll excuse me, Esteemed Father.”
After Javier stepped out of the room, he slid both hands into his pockets and began walking slowly back toward the throne hall.
Hmm… This mission shouldn’t be too hard. I’ll head out after telling them after this.
Just like Father said. I also won’t let those bastards threaten our people or our allies.
I hope this finally makes those noble fools and their idiot king stop sending spies. They already know their intelligence units are garbage compared to Alf’s Shadow Unit, even our regular knights outclass them. And yet… they keep trying.
What an idiots. They’ve lost two wars. Lost assassins, scouts, entire divisions… and they still don’t learn.
When will it sink in?
Our Shadow Unit is years ahead. And with my magic tech? We’re untouchable. Well… thanks to this genius. Ehehehe.
Javier pulled out the mana phone and tapped the screen absently.
These fools keep obsessing over powering up their troops and weapons.
And they forget about their own people.
Instead of building peace, keeping their people fed, housed, working honest jobs, they just tax them into starvation and crush anyone who speaks up. Not like Armand.
Here, no one goes hungry. Everyone has a place.
What have those nobles been learning all these centuries?
Do they even remember what people are?
They sit in gilded halls while their own folk eat dirt.
Tax farmers until their children go hungry in winter, just for another jewel on some lord’s crown.
Burn fields to “teach a lesson,” then wonder why the harvest fails.
Taxes that break backs. Tithes that steal the last handful of grain from a child’s bowl. Their own people choosing between firewood and food when winter bites.
They feast on roasted buzzbull while their guards’ families beg outside the gates.
It’s not just greed, it’s blindness. Starving families don’t pledge loyalty. Hollow bellies don’t build kingdoms.
They’ve forgotten the first rule: a nation is its people.
And right now… the Human Kingdom is eating its own.
And yet they have the audacity to send spies to steal our tech?
They should send spies to learn how we built our waterways.
They should send spies to understand how our markets grow.
They should send spies to “steal” the knowledge of crop rotation and farming tools.
They should send spies to learn what keeps people happy.
Not this… not trying to steal magic tech they’ll never understand. They don’t even know what magical coding is.
This shitty King Kimar…
