Reborn As Noble - Chapter 909
Chapter 909: Father’s Watchful Gaze ( 909 )
After a while, Gloria just smiled, thoroughly entertained as Liana recounted every detail of her first night with Javier.
Felicia, Mimi, and Delya sat frozen, their faces a mix of shock and fascination.
“You… Husband-sama… what!!!?” Mimi squeaked, her cheeks turning bright red.
Felicia drifted into a silent daze, her eyes distant, clearly lost in thought.
Delya fidgeted, her fingers twisting together. “Um… I thought… umm… I was going to wait until after the wedding…”
Liana gave her a gentle, satisfied smile.
“If you want to wait for the wedding before letting Young Master claim you, be my guest. But I’ve been waiting for that moment for far too long. I don’t mind at all. And this makes me his official first wife when we marry later. As for the rest of you… well~”
Gloria chimed in, her lips curving with mischief.
“Ara~ I was waiting for my moment too, but since Young Master is always busy, and you all keep making a scene about who gets to share his bed, we end up splitting as usual, two girls at a time. But I’m not about to let my first night be witnessed by another girl snoring beside us~”
Felicia swallowed hard, her voice small. “Does this mean… I… I also have a chance?”
“Of course. Everyone can,” Gloria replied smoothly. “But not before me. I already claimed the second wife spot. You won’t get it before I do, and I’ll make sure Young Master honors that~”
Felicia glanced at Mimi and Delya, uncertainty flickering in her eyes. “So… if I’m the third, does that make me the official third wife?”
Liana and Gloria exchanged a look, sharing a conspiratorial smile. “Yes~ Well, if those two agree.”
“No! Third wife spot is mine!” Mimi declared, puffing out her cheeks, her tail lashing with irritation.
Delya just smiled dreamily, cradling her chocolate. “Fufu~ I’ll be Danna-sama’s third wife if I get my chance after Gloria, right?”
“Wha, ? Who said you could take the third wife spot, Delya!” Mimi snapped, ears twitching. “I’ve known Husband way longer than you!”
Delya’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she cocked her head. “Hmm? You only met him a few hours before I did. Besides, you just ended up drooling on him while you slept and made his clothes dirty~”
Mimi’s face turned bright red. “Wha? Th-that wasn’t drooling! I was just… um… tired! And, and his shoulder is really comfy, okay?!”
Gloria and Liana exchanged a knowing glance, sharing an amused smile.
Felicia looked on, her eyes darting between the two as their rivalry heated up.
I’ll wait for Gloria to have her turn, then I’ll take the next spot.
Maybe I should ask Liana how to prepare…
Me and Javier-sama have only kissed so far. Even when I slept beside him, I was so nervous when he hugged me.
Felicia’s cheeks grew warm, her heart fluttering as she watched the others bicker.
Maybe I should ask Liana what to wear… or what to do when it’s my turn. But… why did she tell us to try our best not to scream?
Does his face get scary when he’s doing it…?
Felicia hugged her tail a little closer, lost in anxious, excited thoughts as the others kept arguing about who deserved the next “wife” spot.
Meanwhile, at the Armand Estate.
Inside the command center.
Garius sat quietly behind his officers and staff, listening as they relayed updates from the front. Mana talkie signals bounced between captains and field units stationed across Arjam, filling the air with crisp, disciplined voices.
His eyes never left the glowing map projected on the main table. Town by town, one after another, the points marking Arjam’s key locations had been captured.
After capturing the third town, everything had gone exactly as planned. News of Armand’s advance was spreading fast, thanks to intelligence units posing as travelers and scattering rumors among the rogue knights. Even the ex-officials from the late Arjam lord’s circle were scrambling, running for the nearest border, desperate to hide behind whatever greedy noble would take them in.
I’m sure some will try to sell out Arjam’s resources or barter away secrets and backdoor routes to anyone with enough coin.
Garius smirked to himself.
That’s why I sent Javier. Once he secures the border wall, he’ll rebuild and reinforce it, sealing every rat hole those nobles used before. No more spies. No more “accidental” border crossings. And any of those lords who used to support Kimar’s crown won’t be able to slip a single rat past us.
Especially with Alf’s assassin unit and our intelligence team on the move. Once the walls are locked down, Arjam will finally be airtight.
He leaned back, eyes narrowing as the operation unfolded smoothly, every piece moving just as he’d intended.
Garius glanced at the glasses Javier had insisted he use before leaving for Arjam. He picked them up, slid it onto his face, and the Sky Eye’s live feed burst into view, bird’s-eye views from far above, every movement on the ground sharp and clear.
This is a bit confusing… But if I can adapt to this, managing the battlefield will be child’s play, he thought, lips curling in a quiet smirk.
His right eye glimmered for a moment, the Eyes of Truth activating, power rippling beneath the surface.
A surge of information flooded his mind. The live feed was no longer just a moving image, every function snapped into focus. He could shift between views with a thought, zoom in on distant squads, scan the tiniest details, and flip from one vantage point to another, all with perfect clarity and speed.
Garius leaned forward, watching the front lines through the glasses, the corners of his mouth twitching in satisfaction.
So this is what Javier’s been using… No wonder he could track the enemy with ease. And now those screens in the command center, everyone could see the live feed from the Sky Eyes, but not as clearly as these glasses.
He leaned back, watching the map come alive with possibilities, every corner of Arjam under his direct surveillance.
Now those greedy nobles and the enemy don’t even have a chance to fight back. Arjam will fall under Armand soon enough. And let’s see if Kimar has the guts to do that.
A faint chuckle escaped him as he leaned his cheek on his knuckle, eyes glittering with anticipation.
I can’t wait… for that to happen.
Garius’s free hand lay relaxed on the armrest, palm open as a piece of rare ore hovered just above it.
Behind him, Alf and Erinnette watched in silence, exchanging a brief, knowing smile.
The ore liquefied, swirling into a silvery stream as another mana crystal floated toward Garius. In one smooth, effortless motion, the two merged. Light flared briefly, and within seconds, a refined weapon prototype hovered above his hand, perfectly formed.
Inside Alf’s mind.
Really, my lord? You’re openly using Young Master Javier’s power… Master Marcellus’s magic… Master Cedric’s divine blessing… Not to mention the strategic intellect of Master Aelius and Lady Athine…
But instead of concern, Alf felt quiet pride blooming in his chest. These weren’t borrowed gifts. They were reflections of Garius himself, talent passed down to his children by blood, by spirit, by example.
Serving this man… this Count who ruled without cruelty, who bore every burden silently, who lifted others rather than stepping on them… That was something worth being proud of.
“My lord,” Alf said quietly.
“Ah, yes, Alf?” Garius replied without looking, already dissolving the newly formed weapon back into raw mana, the ore and crystal returning to their original forms as if nothing unusual had happened.
“You shouldn’t do it so openly,” Alf said with a faint smile. “If Young Master Javier catches you at it… he’ll sulk for weeks. He might even refuse to become your successor.”
A soft laugh escaped Garius’s throat as he leaned back in his chair.
“Thank you for the reminder, Alf. But really… I’m just a serious father. All I have is a good mind and a bit of experience. Nothing more.”
