Reborn As Noble - Chapter 1015
Capítulo 1015: Solo Containment ( 1015 )
A blinding white flash filled Javier’s screen for a moment.
When the feed cleared, the vampire was gone, escaped in that brief window.
Javier exhaled. “Whatever… I’m sure that weirdo will run into Hesbeirn on his way out.”
He turned the knight’s attention toward the spot where the bottle had been thrown.
Don’t tell me that was poison? If it’s just poison… well, I can probably purify it.
The armored knight moved toward the lake’s edge to collect a water sample.
But the ground trembled. The water in the center of the lake began bubbling.
“What now?” Javier sighed. The knight reached back, pulled the mana rifle from its mount, and powered it up with a low hum.
He aimed the rifle toward the churning water. “Well… I think this charge should be enough for whatever’s coming.”
The water burst upward.
One by one, massive serpentine heads erupted from the churning surface.
Awww… crap…
Javier muttered, leaning back from his display. He watched through the knight’s lens as the hydra’s heads rose higher, hissing and weaving in the mist.
“Sigh… now if I kill these things, the lake will be polluted by their toxic blood. And purifying it will take forever.”
He watched as more heads rose from the churning water, a hydra, each neck thick and scaled, eyes glowing with primal fury.
Shit… why the hell did that weirdo have to spawn this shitty thing?
Now this is going to be trouble. It’s not just big. If I don’t handle this now, it’s going to cause a disaster later.
Sigh… this is exactly why I wanted to go myself, but Alf had to stop me.
If this monster goes on a rampage, the wedding is ruined.
And if Father cancels at the last second because of this… this oversized lizard… Queen Mylezra will be furious. She’ll go straight to Mother and cry again.
And the people will question the safety for the other kings and nations attending Father’s wedding. Why does trouble always show up during celebrations?
Javier paused, his expression shifting. This wasn’t the time for joystick controls.
He tapped the screen. Link to Dimensional Storage – Active.
Another tap, and he switched to the Sky Eye’s overhead view, the hydra’s massive form clear from above.
“Time to get serious and get this done.”
Meanwhile, the vampire ran as fast as his wounded body could manage.
Shit! Who the hell was that armored guy?
He was too fast inside that heavy full plate. And not just fast, but too strong.
I have to get back. Warn the others. In this condition, there’s no way I can complete the mission and kill Veldrac now.
Just as he broke through the treeline, a huge hand shot out from the shadows and seized his face, crushing him down into the dirt.
Hesbeirn glanced down at the squirming figure under his grip. The Armand Elite Knights fanned out silently behind him, sealing the path.
“Got you now, shithead.”
The vampire screamed, squirming violently.
Why is everyone in Armand so strong?! This big guy just caught me like I was nothing!
The grip tightened. The pressure was immense, crushing.
My head… it’s going to burst!
Hesbeirn lifted him by the head, his massive hand gripping the vampire’s skull like a melon as he hoisted him off the ground.
He glanced at the squirming figure, rubbing his chin thoughtfully with his free hand.
“Hmm… aren’t you from the Vampire Clan, under the Demon Kingdom? What’s your purpose here? Since you’re part of King Veldrac’s escort, I don’t think you should be leaving your king back at the Armand estate. That means you must be here for something else.”
“My head! My head!!!”
“Hmm? I don’t think I’m gripping you that hard.” Hesbeirn pulled out a set of magic-suppressing handcuffs and locked them around the vampire’s wrists. Then he took out another restraint, and clamped it around the vampire’s left ankle.
“There. No more funny business.”
Hesbeirn turned toward the knights, his voice a low rumble of command.
“Bring this leech to the holding cells. We’ll inform His Majesty after the wedding. No need to ruin the mood.”
“Yes, sir!”
The Armand knights lifted the bound vampire and secured him onto the back of a waiting Pekko.
“And you,” Hesbeirn said, patting the Pekko’s neck. “Eat him if he tries to run.”
Cuquawked!!!” The Pekko squawked loudly, glaring at the vampire now strapped to its back.
Just as they were about to leave the area, a deep, guttural roar echoed across the lake, a sound like multiple throats screaming at once.
The Armand knights immediately raised their mana rifles. Others drew glowing magic swords and hefted shields, shifting into a defensive formation.
Hesbeirn just stood there, arms crossed.
The vampire laughed, a raw, grating sound. “Hahahaha! There’s no way you weaklings can stop a Hydra! No matter how strong you think you are, with this tiny troop? I doubt you can do anything! That armored fool’s probably already been eaten!! Hahahaha!”
Hesbeirn rubbed his chin, unfazed. “Hydra, huh? And you mentioned an ‘armored guy’?”
The vampire just sneered, staying silent with a mocking smile.
Hesbeirn tapped the mana talkie in his ear. “Any units near the big lake?”
A reply came through, and he nodded.
Just as Hesbeirn turned back toward the vampire strapped to the Pekko, he noticed a huge swarm of large battle drones flying overhead toward the lake.
He tapped the talkie again. “Brat? Is that you out at the lake?”
“Nope! That’s my new puppet knight. Make sure no one comes near. I’m handling this myself, Uncle.”
“Huh? So you’re the ‘armored guy’ this leech was whining about?”
“Ah~ You caught him already? Good, good.”
“Yeah, kinda. And stop calling me ‘uncle,’ brat.”
“Heh… I’ll call you whatever I want, Uncle~”
“You sure you don’t need help?” Hesbeirn asked again. “You know I could just jump in and cut a few heads off.”
“Heh! Nope. I don’t want you jumping in and chopping heads, only to poison the whole lake with hydra blood. That’d be a pain in the ass to clean up later.”
“Hmm… so this puppet knight of yours. Can it really handle a hydra?”
There was a brief silence on the line, followed by a crackle of laughter.
“Don’t worry about it. Just head back to the estate. You don’t want to miss Father’s wedding… and I’m sure you can’t resist the new vintage they just brought out. Ah! I can see the maids setting new bottles on the table right now!”
“R…really!?”
“Yeah. Just come back, inform the shadow leader and all units to fall back. I have to make sure no one gets in the way.”
