Capítulo 372: Training Arc And…?

“What is it?” Nara, the Red Dragon gang member’s trainer, scooted closer.

“Not much.” Liz shrugged, not bothering to hide her phone.

She had received a message from Raya which read [Hey, Liz. How are you doing?]

“Huh… A message like that got you deep in thought?”

“Can you stop studying me so closely?” Liz sighed.

“I can’t.” Nara shook her head. “I need to know how you got so strong, and why you’re determined to use such… Archaic training methods.”

“Shouldn’t you be at the Red Dragon’s Estate?”

“I got a short vacation. Aren’t you glad that there’s a familiar face around?”

“Hm… I guess I am.” Liz muttered as she gazed through the window. ‘We’re not used to sending each other messages like that. Yeah… We get right to the point, not ask about each other’s comings and goings.’ Another sigh. ‘Must mean that-‘

“By the way,” Nara interrupted Liz’s thought. “Some officers approached the base asking for you.”

‘Of course they did.’ Liz thought but feigned surprise. “Officers?”

“Yeah, of the Syndicate.” Nara stared closely. “Any idea what they might want?”

“Maybe they want to recruit me or something?” Liz shrugged. “Were they let in?”

“Of course not.” Nara chuckled. “You know how the gals are. They spit on any authority outside of the military. Oh, you want to see Elizabeth? Hm… Is she even here? Let me ask my superior officer. Oh, you need to ask that gal. Wait, didn’t she leave the country two hours ago?”

“Right.” Liz chuckled. “Well, make sure they don’t think I’m dodging them or something.”

“I’m not part of the military anymore, so that’s none of my business.”

“You’re still here.”

“I’m cleared. There’s a difference.” Nara adjusted her cap. “We’re landing soon.”

Liz nodded silently. The place she was preparing to spend the next two weeks in was now visible.

Twenty minutes later, the two stood in front of a large cave which had been a highly classified facility some decades ago.

“I can’t make sense of this. Did you become a cultivator while searching for a Tsero Crystal? You didn’t even ask for food. Just water and… Batteries? Generators?”

“Don’t worry about it.” Liz muttered before gulping. “See you in two weeks.”

“No, seriously. Did you become a cultivator?” Nara asked as she took hold of Liz’s arm.

The latter turned around with a slight smile.

“Something like that.” Liz answered before yanking her arm free. “Get your head out of your ass. You’re too old to be spouting nonsense.”

“Stuck in a cave with no food? What else am I supposed to think?”

Nara shrugged, and Liz stepped forward.

‘In a way, I might as well be.’ She thought as she walked into the cave. ‘Now that I think about it, I’ve kind of become a superhero, haven’t I?’ Liz chuckled, remembering the movies she used to watch as a kid.

“Well,” Nara stood around for a bit. “Good luck or whatever. I’ll go see those Syndicate cucks for you.”

“Thanks.” Liz nodded, now deep into the cave.

A minute later, gigantic mechanical doors started moving, sealing the cave off, and Liz inside.

‘I hope Lith isn’t causing too much trouble…’ She quickly shook her head. ‘No, I need to focus on myself right now.’

Her gaze moved towards her curled fingers.

‘One month before Cero is back. I need to master it…’

Zzzzt- Zip- Zip- Zap-

‘Before then.’

***

Meanwhile, on the other side of the planet.

‘Ugh…’

Sigh-

‘This shit is so ass.’

Rea couldn’t quite get over it.

She was in the middle of the mansion’s immense garden, seated on the grass, something that she hadn’t done for a very long time.

Her gaze was stuck on the night sky and stars above.

‘I really can’t get used to it.’ She curled her arms around her knees. ‘Life on Wor is ass.’

Rea found herself completely unable to move on.

Or rather, to move back to a time when life on Wor was enjoyable.

‘I’ve been trying, but I really can’t. Even the games I used to love… I just can’t immerse myself in them anymore.’

Something had changed during the mission.

Rea’s time away from Wor had affected her in a way she was only starting to feel and realize now.

‘One month… What the hell am I supposed to do for a month? What is there to do?’

The moment she had landed on Wor, Rea had gone back into the mole she used to be, barricading herself into her room, and gaming to her heart’s content.

The gaming bender had been interrupted by Cero and Liz. Surprisingly enough, the time spent with them already made the gaming pale in comparison.

Now, she couldn’t get into it at all.

‘How can I enjoy playing video games after the months we lived? I mean… the way we lived, the things we went through… it might as well have been an IRL video game.’

Rea lay down on the grass, fingers tapping the ground restlessly.

‘And navigating… man, that was so much fun. Piloting an entire spaceship, dodging meteoroids, landing on different planets almost randomly…’ She let out a dry laugh. ‘Can’t believe that parking a car is more annoying than landing the ship ever was. Find a spot, slow down, drop. Bam. Things went so much faster then. So much faster there… One month passed like that.’ She snapped her fingers. ‘Now, here, one month is… Freaking unending.’

The fact that Officers had come knocking at Rea’s door hadn’t helped one bit.

She hadn’t seen the Syndicate Officers though. The many people working in the mansion and estate had dealt with them.

Rea’s parents had been informed of the Officers’ passing, and were already calling government officials and lawyers.

They didn’t think that Rea had done anything wrong, but having Officers snooping around was never a good thing, especially now that they had dealings with the Red Dragon gang.

‘So many rules, so many laws, so much societal bullshit…’

Sigh-

‘I hate it here, now more than ever.’

We’ll spend some more time on Wor to see what everyone is up to before going back to Cero, Roka, and Jin!
