Capítulo 664: The new Dietrich’s in charge
After Matthew left with his girls, the battlefield remained silent for several minutes.
Many did not know what to do until their leaders began to mobilize. The war had been won with frightening ease, leaving them in shock, but it seemed they would have to get used to it, as they were in the same group as those who had so easily caused this great massacre.
They suffered almost no losses. The union of the troops of so many Clans ultimately overwhelmed the invading forces.
The Kingdom of Blacksmith is now completely under the control of Matthew Dietrich’s forces.
The Kingdom of Blacksmith, the Dark Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Richter are the three most important kingdoms of the current era. Wealth, power, and control.
Previously, these three kingdoms were known as the Vampiric Arch due to their strategic position on the map and their role as the first line of defense in case humans and devourers decided to attack them.
Now they are under the same banner.
The world had truly changed.
—
Inside the Murphy Clan.
Some of the clan’s strongest members had returned from the war after achieving a victory that would soon make global headlines.
They returned like lightning, and in the same way, certain people left, leaving Sophia alone with Frederick Murphy. He sat on his bed, his hands clenched as he listened to Sophia’s crying beside him.
Only she knew what she had suffered these last few weeks, thinking that his father was beyond help.
However, one visit from Matthew was all it took, and not only did he regain his abilities and power, but he also recovered and felt revitalized.
‘He really is a worthy heir to Dietrich,’ he thought.
After processing everything that had happened and what Sophia had told him, he smiled and stroked her head.
“Leave the rest to me. Go rest, take as many days as you want and need,” he said.
Although it was difficult for her to calm down, she was able to do so because she had something to tell her father.
“We can’t rest,” she said.
“Why do you say that?” Her father looked at her, confused.
“The Divine City seems to have suddenly been delayed, and now we don’t know when it will come. According to what he told me, Matt has nothing to do with it, so it’s possible that the bastards in the central city have done something.”
“What?” Frederick quickly urged her to take out her heir token, and sure enough… the city was nowhere to be seen.
The tokens did not glow.
“Are they that powerful?” His heart leapt into his throat, but while he was in shock, he suddenly noticed a significant change in his body and looked at his hands.
“W-what?” He clenched his hands, then looked inside. There was something strange, something very different about him.
His blood… was suddenly extremely pure, and his strength seemed to have increased.
Sophia smiled. “It was a gift from Matt. He blessed many of us in the Clan to be part of the Dietrich Clan.”
“W-w-what?! The D-D-Dietrich Clan?!” Frederick stuttered repeatedly. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
His body trembled, but his changes told him that what he was hearing was true.
“Yes.” Sophia declared confidently. “He also told me that it’s time to start strengthening ourselves explosively, that he’ll prepare several things, since he has to go train elsewhere. I don’t know the details, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
“A Dietrich…” Frederick couldn’t believe what he was hearing. If he had become a member of that legendary clan, then his entire family would benefit in the long run.
Growing up with the Dietrich bloodline was too simple, even hard to believe.
“Where is he?” he asked.
“I don’t think we’ll see him for a while. He told me he would be very busy from now on. He even said goodbye in case we don’t see him for a few years.”
“I see.” Frederick frowned. That was problematic, but he could understand it. If that man went into hiding for a couple of years, by the time he returned he would have grown to catastrophic levels, and even the enemies of Central City would not put up any resistance.
But that was something they had to keep secret.
“Let nothing be said about this outside of the two of us. If anyone else in the Clan knows, tell them that if anyone outside finds out that Matthew hasn’t been seen in a while, whether it’s a week, a month, or a few years, I will kill them without fail.” He said and finally stood up.
“Are you afraid that Central City will find out somehow and attack us while he’s away?”
“It’s a risk they’ll gladly take when that happens. They know that the greatest danger of a Dietrich is that he will develop his own strength, so they won’t allow it,” he said and looked at her. “Where’s Gray?”
“He should be nearby. I heard they would finish some things with Matthew about 12 hours ago.”
“I see.” After finishing getting dressed, Frederick patted him on the head. “Rest, I’ll take care of this. When you feel better, come back to training.”
“I understand, Father.”
—
“Isn’t it too dangerous to go to those places alone? It’s a clan that the church has surely visited.” Jack Allen looked at Matthew’s back as they stood on top of a mountain, gazing at the dark horizon of this world.
“Danger will always be knocking at your door, Jack. Even when you do something you’ve been doing for many years and that has never posed a danger to you, you can still die.”
“But seeking out the greatest danger is not wise.”
“Do you think wise men avoid death?” Matthew turned to look at him with that question.
Jack didn’t know how to respond, but should he say… yes?
“Wise men tend to seek death more than you think. Because difficult situations are what create wise men. Moments of peace and tranquility create weak and dependent people, nothing more. So it’s normal for a wise man to seek danger to grow,” Matthew replied.
Jack sighed. It certainly made sense. “But you are now the leader of the race…”
“I am not. A part of the race still refuses to accept me as their leader.”
“But you are our leader.”
“Now there are several Dietrichs among us, including you, to take up the baton again, as they have been doing for many millions of years. What’s worrying you?”
“Sigh.” He sighed again and shook his head. “It seems that no matter what I say to you, you’re determined to leave.”
“Hahaha.” Matthew laughed and patted him on the shoulder. “I left everything ready for you, the new Dietrichs, to move in the same way that the old Dietrichs moved. The structure and talent are there; all that’s missing is for you to get to work. So do your best, and I’m sure that when I return, you’ll be one of their greatest leaders.”
“Aren’t you going to say goodbye to my sister?”
“If I do, they won’t let me go, and someone else might see me. If anyone finds out that I’m leaving the territories, it will be terrible. So I’d rather you tell her later. Tell her not to rush into the spirit world, that I’ll take care of what happens there. Otherwise, she’ll know what to do.”
Jack sighed for the third time, but nodded. “All right, leader.” He smiled. “I hope you don’t die out there. If you die, we’ll surely fall too.”
“Hahaha.” Matthew laughed and began to walk away. “Ten million years ago, the race thought the same thing. If we died, the race would cease to exist… but here it is, ten million years later. Even without me, you will do well.”
After that, he stopped listening to what Jack had to say and disappeared.
