Among the Wagner Clan troops, Patrick Wagner and Matthew Dietrich still had blood on their hands. They had just killed and hadn’t cleaned them yet.
In fact, several heads were hanging beneath them. They belonged to various leaders of the Herrero Kingdom who not only worked with the traitors but also gave them money, resources, and even information.
Many of them had already been investigated by the Wagner Clan before, so it was very easy to dismantle the entire network. The rest would be left to Ava in the near future.
The ships, flying beasts, and foot troops gradually surrounded the large forces of the blacksmith army.
The blacksmith king emerged from the rubble of the previous explosions. He had lost all his men in those explosions; only he survived, as he was quite powerful.
But he was wounded in the head and several parts of his body.
As soon as he stepped out, Patrick Wagner appeared behind him, holding a sword to his neck.
“Old Sullivan, long time no see,” Patrick greeted him with a sinister smile.
The king immediately tensed up. His eyes scanned his surroundings. In front, behind, to the sides…
He was surrounded.
All the armies they commanded were surrounded.
For a brief moment, his body moved to one side, lightly touching the sword with his neck. The coldness transmitted itself with the feeling of being slightly cut, and he trembled.
“M-Master Patrick…” he stammered.
“It’s been a long time since I gave you command of the kingdom. Don’t you think it’s time to hand it over? Leave it in the hands of the new generation, who could do a lesser job,” Patrick said.
“M-Master Patrick… Is that your wish?”
“Honestly, I entrusted it to you because I trusted you, old Sullivan,” Patrick replied. “These days, earning my trust is difficult, so you should feel honored,” he reminded him.
“I know, sir…”
“But you destroyed my trust, old Sullivan. The kingdom I gave you is full of traitorous idiots who sweet-talk you on one hand and destroy you on the other. And it’s all because of you.”
“S-Sir, let me explain, they didn’t…”
“Silence.” Patrick moved his sword closer to his neck and touched it again. “You don’t need to say anything else. From this day forward, you lose your rank and position. Since you decided to turn your back on me and go with those idiots, I hope those idiots can at least save you, because I won’t kill you. I’ll let you see how those traitors end up, so you can see the kind of idiocy you committed and regret it for the rest of your life.”
With his words, Patrick moved his sword sharply downward and destroyed one arm, quickly moving it to the other side to cut off the other.
“AHHHH!” The scream of King Sullivan, one of the most powerful men in the world, echoed across the battlefield, and he fell to the ground without limbs. He was far from reaching 150,000 in power, so he didn’t have the recovery of the Pillars.
With the first fallen and that first scream, silence descended on the battlefield. Neither of the two newly arrived sides moved.
Matthew, who watched this from the sidelines, simply walked through the air until he stood a few dozen meters away from the Pillars. His gaze was fixed on one of them: Roy Mustang.
“It seems you’ve been enjoying the benefits of having my abilities with you, little vampire.” He sneered.
Roy frowned. “Your abilities? Don’t make me laugh.” His body was surrounded by a strong energy that exploded in all directions, revealing a power beyond limits, but that power…
Matthew shook his head. “Very unstable, little vampire. Did you know that increasing your power like that will prevent you from using your powers correctly? Right now, your actual power level is so pitiful that it’s not even worth mentioning.”
“Hehe, why don’t you come and try it?” Roy asked.
“Fine.” Matthew sneered. “I have several ways to beat you in one blow, but I suddenly feel a great need to use ice. I haven’t used it in a long time, after all.” He said and stepped forward.
“Frozen World.” He whispered.
Suddenly, an enormous force began to spread like a curtain from his position in all directions. It alarmed everyone, but it was so fast that in a moment it covered the entire battlefield.
A terrifying cold took hold of many of those on it, only those allies remained untouched.
But those affected began to shiver, and some even fell to the ground from the cold they were feeling.
Matthew looked behind him. “Don’t grab him. I feel like playing for a while,” he said, speaking to Charlotte.
He then signaled to Jack that he could enter the fray. “Your sister seems to have worn out her power recently, so supplant her. Being one of the most powerful heirs, that should be easy for you, right?”
Jack smiled. “I may not be as strong as you, but I can fight anyone here and not lose. Leave it to me,” he declared.
Matthew smiled, but didn’t have time to respond. He arched his body backward to dodge a blow from his opponent.
“Bastard, what kind of domain is this? It makes me tremble to my very bones,” Roy roared as he tried unsuccessfully to grab him and throw him to the ground.
Matthew managed to distance himself very easily. “Have you never seen such a beautiful domain? Well, that’s normal. In this era, it is the Hills who rule, and their domains are quite ugly and unstable. Nothing to be done, a mistake of my father’s creation, surely.” He sneered.
Roy clenched his fists. “If the Hills were here, you wouldn’t be telling the tale.”
“Really?” he asked. “I recently encountered one… it wasn’t that surprising.”
“Hmph, as if I would believe you.” Roy jumped at him again, but couldn’t reach him. Suddenly, he felt a strong punch to his face and a sudden dizziness hit him. He was brutally pushed backwards.
“What the hell? So fast?” He quickly regained his composure, but a bluish-white sight greeted him. It was ice. An ice fist hit him once more and sent him rolling across the ground.
“Tsk, such a useless thing. You can’t even see through my frozen time, when I only activate it momentarily.” Matthew casually stepped down to the ground, not caring about the chaos around him.
