Capítulo 652: Wagner Clan Territory (2)

Unedited chapter. It will be edited soon.

–

This construction on the mountain rock was not a simple house, it was an entire city and actually covered several entire mountains.

From left to right there was an entire civilization, with buildings, large tourist sites, and access to the sea.

Only people approved by the richest vampire clan of all lived in this civilization: the Wagner Clan.

Being so powerful, they had chosen to build their entire base in the old-fashioned way. They followed the model of the first vampires, who lived underground or on mountains, locked away to protect themselves from the sun’s rays.

This great city was beautiful, the buildings were perfectly constructed, decorated, and maintained, as were each of the urban areas that were entirely controlled by the Wagner Clan.

For anyone knowledgeable about new technologies and innovations coming into the world, visiting this city was a dream, because it is the cradle of innovation.

Like any city controlled by a clan in a supreme manner, it has certain regions for specific types of activities. Urban areas for living, industrial or business areas, tourist areas, etc., and each area is perfectly divided so that they cannot mix.

For this reason, there is an area where innovative companies start up, under the wealth of the Wagner Clan and are sponsored; this area is known as the Innovation Zone and is located between one of the urban areas and one of the industrial areas.

Thanks to this, the famous Wagner City, or the City of the Sacred Mountain, is the world’s greatest source of innovation. This is where all the industries that later cause a stir around the world originate.

And recently, according to the elders, they have been working hard on modernizing certain areas that are important to vampires.

Now, whether that was true or not was a mystery.

What was true, and what Matthew, Charlotte, and Jack were witnessing for the first time, was that this city was a visual marvel.

This vampire world they live in is not known for having very beautiful cities, to tell the truth. The capitals Matthew has visited, while charming and impressive, are often strangely shaped and completely confusing.

Perhaps the City of Clans and the Capital of the Human Empire are the most “understandable and beautiful” he has visited… Well, the Mountain Capital he just destroyed was also beautiful, but more for the views it offered than for the city and its architecture.

Otherwise, they are quite confusing and strange to understand.

But this one was different.

It was a huge metropolis, but much better structured and divided than any of the large metropolises they came to know during their stay on earth.

The beauty of the city struck them, as did its enormous size and the fact that it was built entirely among the mountains.

It was impressive to see such exquisite architecture, but it was just as the rumors said: Wagner was the pinnacle of wealth, innovation, and extravagance.

Today they witnessed it for themselves.

They were soon led to the castle built in the middle of the city.

“If you want to do some sightseeing…”

“No need,” Matthew interrupted the old man. “We’ll do that next time we come,” he said.

He was clearly in a hurry.

“Fine.” The old man continued to guide them inside the castle.

The clan members greeted the old man from left to right, some addressing him as “Elder,” others, who did not belong to the Clan, calling him “Minister.”

That is one of the important issues in this city; it has its own government. Although they collectively govern the entire Blacksmith Kingdom, they also have their own internal model of government, which serves them well given the immense wealth that the city manages.

Although everything was managed by the same family, outwardly there was a whole government structure here, although internally they continued to deal with family matters.

“What are you in charge of?” Matthew asked, curious.

“Oh, sorry for taking so long to introduce myself.” He smiled apologetically. “Mr. Matthew, I am Ulysses Wagner. Internally, I am the Clan’s Elder of Finance. For the government, I am the Chief Minister of Business. I am in charge of all business logistics, investments, and the pursuit of innovation.”

“Wow, so your job is one of the most important in the whole clan. No wonder you’re so powerful and have some of my abilities,” said Matthew, smiling a little.

Ulysses paused for a moment. ‘His abilities? The rumors are true…’ he thought.

When he almost caused a collision between himself and one of those coming up behind him, he apologized. “Sorry.” And he resumed walking.

“Haha, you could say I’m third in the Clan. I’m the younger brother of Leader Wagner, and in my time I was the Second Heir,” he replied.

“Third? I always thought the Heirs occupied the First and Second positions.”

“That’s how it is in all Clans, but not here, at least not in this generation.”

“And why would that be?”

“One of the secondary elders’ sons is very talented and one of the best innovators we’ve had in the last thousand years. He is in charge of many things in the Clan. While he is not more powerful than me, his level of importance in the Clan lies in the fact that he manages virtually all of the clan’s power and wealth. Although I am the Elder of Finance, I need his approval if I want to invest in a project, because he inherited an innate ability.”

Although Matthew had not asked for so much information, he was very pleased that Ulysses had decided to give it to him. This helped him better understand this curious Clan.

“Wow, so you guys have more camaraderie than the other clans,” Matthew joked.

“Haha, maybe. We have our problems, but we understand that if someone is better than the others, then we shouldn’t stand in their way; we should give them permission to move forward. That will improve the clan as a whole,” replied Ulysses.

“Collective strength over individual strength, right? Great. I think we’ll get along very well. My clan was like that too, in its day.”

“Your clan, sir?” Ulysses swallowed hard. “Dietrich?”

“Obviously, what other clan could it be?”

Ulysses nodded with slight embarrassment. “I’m sorry,” he apologized. “It’s just hard to comprehend that we have a Dietrich in this era. In our history, the Dietrich died out 10 million years ago, and that’s that.”

“Haha, well, that’s everyone’s history, including mine,” Matthew sighed.
