Chapter 645: The Divine City disappeared?

Four of the five leaders were talking as they flew toward the Central City of the World.

“Is it okay to do that? They have enough strength to exploit the resources. We could go along with what Matthew Dietrich sold them and tell them they were traitors and all that.”

“Take advantage of what he prepared for us for our own benefit?”

“Yes.”

“It might be a good idea. Although I see some problems with doing so.” Among the leaders, they looked at the main leader, waiting for his response to this issue.

He smiled, shaking his head helplessly.

“Anything to do with Matthew Dietrich is something I won’t use. That would be putting our necks on the line and telling him he can kill us. So stop talking nonsense. We’ll never know what those guys are planning, so destroying the foundations they built to turn the plan on us is the best we can do.”

“Oh.” The four remaining leaders nodded in understanding. “I see, you’re right. We had thought about it superficially.”

“Haha…” The leader laughed mockingly but stopped short and looked up at the clouds.

“What’s wrong?” one of them asked. The others looked up, too, but they couldn’t see or feel anything.

Still, the leader frowned.

“The Divine City… Why can’t I sense it? Wasn’t it supposed to appear in at least one year? Until a few hours ago, I could sense it. What’s going on?”

None of the leaders could answer his questions. They stared at each other and shook their heads.

“Um… Should we ask the Oracle and the Young Master?” It was the only thing they could think of.

“…”

More than 15 minutes passed as the Leader tried to search for that city’s presence, just as he could feel it before, but he couldn’t find any trace of it.

He simply wasn’t there.

It was as if he didn’t exist.

He frowned and turned his gaze back to the front before continuing to fly at full speed.

“This could be serious. If Matthew Dietrich has control of that city, we’re screwed. Emergency meeting. Immediately. Tell the guys fighting the Murphys to return to the central city.”

—

As they moved away from the Zimmermann Kingdom territories using Jack’s power and headed towards the location of their next mission, Matthew made him stop.

“Wait. Stop,” he said and looked up at the sky.

“Hm?” Even Jack sensed something strange happening.

“The Divine City seems to have hidden itself,” Matthew said, puzzled, and looked at Jack.

“The Divine City?” he asked in shock and took out his heir token, which he had kept in a special place so that those guys wouldn’t steal it.

The closer the Divine City was to appearing and the Battle of the Heirs to beginning, the brighter it shone. Until now, the token had been glowing intensely with a bluish hue, but the moment he took it out, it wasn’t shining.

‘Strange.’ Matthew frowned.

Until now, he could clearly sense the Divine City, and he was sure that it would come at any moment within this year, which could hinder his training. That’s why he rushed everything and tried to make his plans work out perfectly.

But now it was gone.

The presence of such powerful people arriving in the vicinity of this side of the world was something he had to take into account for the disappearance of that place. And its disappearance was problematic.

Too much so.

The vast majority of his abilities lay there, and all the power that 10 million years of accumulation could give him was immense. He would surely lose his war against the Eternals if he couldn’t recover that soon.

He didn’t know what to do for a moment, but soon he sighed and looked at Charlotte, who was staring at him.

“Any ideas?” he asked.

She smiled. “None. The world is more surprising than we think, so we must be prepared for anything that happens, because many of those things are beyond our control.”

“Haha, I guess you’re right.” Matthew sighed and looked at Jack again. “Let’s go,” he said.

They continued teleporting around the world.

—

“Miss, I think this time they intend to attack with everything they’ve got,” said one of the elders of the Murphy Family, as he looked around with special devices. “They have us surrounded.”

“They really do have troops and a large alliance with humans, huh. But how did they move so large a force into the Human Empire without us hearing about it?” Sophia looked back at Alice and Isla, who were frowning in the distance.

Alice looked at Isla, but neither of them had any idea.

“We weren’t informed about it, so maybe it’s a recently orchestrated move.”

“It’s quite large. How many leaders above 100,000 do they have?” Sophia asked.

“On the human side, there are three.” Just then, Ava arrived from behind, jumping between the mountains and shouting. “They’re not very powerful, but they have a pillar with them. It’s a movement prepared in advance by the number of people, but the organization is poor.”

“Ava, what are you doing here?” Alice asked, puzzled.

She looked at her. “The underworld networks are acting strangely. Something big could be happening, but I also received some shocking news from the Kingdom of Zimmermann. Do you want to hear it?”

“The question itself is offensive. Tell us what happened. You have the largest information network right now, don’t you? Tell us your discoveries,” said Sophia.

“The Mountain Capital was destroyed in one day. All the churches were damaged, and it seems they treated it as a traitor to the central city. The prisoner, Jack Allen, disappeared from prison as well, so right now the whole Kingdom is in chaos. Rumors indicate that the powerful people from the Central City have arrived.”

All the girls present gasped. “Matthew!”

Ava smiled. “Supposedly, a man and a woman of absurd beauty were seen walking the streets before the city was destroyed. There’s no doubt it’s the two of them.”

“Okay. So he went there on his own, huh.” Alice smiled.

“That’s just like him. He’s always loved going to dangerous places,” Isla said, but she knew Ava wasn’t finished. “What other information did you get?”

“This is dangerous, but I came back just to tell you that if we take advantage of it, we can win this war without any problems,” she said and continued.

“The Central City of the World has called all the Pillars to an emergency meeting. The message is still traveling and is expected to reach them soon. All forms of transmitting information through magic were ruled out because of the danger involved, so they used more conventional methods, and it will still take a while for the information to reach us here.”
