Chapter 644: Dangerous plans

He had grown fond of these races because they had followed him for many years. When he sold them the possibility of becoming powerful vampires, transformed by the Progenitor of the Race himself, they were all excited and rushed to follow him.

But then… they were attacked. Many died, most were captured and taken to a strange altar for mass sacrifice.

It was then that he realized what kind of bastards these damned traitors were, and he swore to destroy them if he could ever be free. But the feeling of guilt remained.

Even more so after remembering the looks some of them gave him, as if they longed for salvation.

The smile on Matthew’s face faded, and his face took on a dark expression.

Mass sacrifice.

“Where?” he asked. “Was it here in the kingdom?”

“No.” He shook his head. “It was in the Central City of the World.”

“Damn them.” Matthew clenched his fists tightly, but took a few deep breaths. Just then, Charlotte touched him on the edge of his clothing.

“Troops are approaching, very powerful ones,” she said softly.

“Let’s go,” Matthew said.

He patted Jack on the shoulder. “Don’t worry. Everyone who did that will die a terrible death. I will flatten the Central City of the World, and nothing will ever rise from its ashes again,” he declared firmly.

Before jumping out of there and running to the foot of the mountain.

Thirty minutes later, the few people they had brought and the new “vampires” transformed by him arrived.

After that, Jack unleashed his ability so that many people could pass through, and they began to move away.

—

By the time the troops from the Central City of the World arrived, the Mountain Capital had ceased to exist.

The ruins of a once-great capital, one of the largest in the world, were everywhere. The traitors (whom they considered traitors) were destroying even the last foundations.

In addition, explosives had been planted deep within the city, in important locations, which exploded at some point before they arrived, rendering the city uninhabitable.

Five of them arrived and stood on top of one of the destroyed buildings, one after another.

The moment they all looked out over the city, a shadow appeared before them and materialized into a man covered in dark clothing.

The leader among the five stared at him. “May I ask what the hell happened here?” he asked deeply.

The man couldn’t lift his head.

“Lords… to tell you the truth, I have no idea. From my investigation, all the attackers say that the Mountain Capital City had betrayed them and that it had betrayed the church, so they had to attack under orders from the Central City of the World.”

“Our orders?”

“Yes, sir.”

The leader among them looked at his companions, and they nodded. They all agreed on one thing.

“They fell into Matthew Dietrich’s trap, heh. So that’s how he wants to play, that damn bastard.” The leader growled. “Where is the Young Master? Can you sense him?”

“No. We lost track of him a while ago. Should we go back and ask the Young Master? As brothers from the same egg, they should be able to sense each other.”

“Tsk. Let’s see what happened to Jack first,” he said, and prepared to leave, but the man dressed in black spoke up.

“He escaped, sir. That was the first thing I checked. After all the city leaders died without a fight, he was surely rescued. I fear Matthew Dietrich did that,” he said.

The leader took a deep breath to calm himself. “So we all fell into the trap he set for us, inside the trap we set for him, eh… Hehe.” He began to laugh frantically and slammed his fist into the ground.

The impact shattered a large part of the mountain with a single blow, demonstrating his anger. His plans had been destroyed before they even began.

But how could they have imagined that bastard would run here when they had tremendous problems in the Murphy Clan territories?

When one of your greatest kingdoms turns against you and attacks you, leaving one of your greatest men unable to fight and practically disabling one of your most powerful clans, the most logical thing to do is to reinforce that area.

But that bastard ran to the farthest kingdom, passing through the trap they had set for him, and rescued a man after destroying a city, killing several leaders, and even making one of the Young Masters of the Clan disappear!

“Damn. It’s certainly difficult to face you, Matthew Dietrich. No wonder everyone fears you.”

Even though the five leaders were angry, they had good self-control, so they could calm down and clear their minds in a few seconds.

“What should we do, lords?” the man in black asked.

The leader sighed. “How are the local churches?”

“Too bad. They all seem to have lost their leaders. I don’t know what happened or how it happened, but the leaders have disappeared from the face of the earth, so maybe they’re dead.”

“Do we have enough forces in the kingdom to destroy the four capitals?”

“This…” The man hesitated. “Is it necessary to destroy them? They were deceived…”

“Well, I don’t care if they were deceived. Because of them, we lost our hostage, and the whole plan went down the drain. Are there enough forces?” He asked again.

He swallowed hard. “Sir, the ones who led this were the leaders of the local churches, the governors, and the people are…”

“What was the question I asked you?” The leader interrupted him, sending a strong power to him so that he would not continue talking nonsense because he did not want to hear it.

Then, the man realized that the leaders just wanted to find an excuse to shed blood.

They welcome all blood, whether from an ally or an enemy, as they will achieve their goal much sooner.

So he could say nothing more.

“There are enough, if we count those at the borders. All the leaders died in that room, so there is no one to oppose us.”

“Good.” The leader smiled. “Then I will send someone to make a move. A new capital will be established to rule the kingdom, and anyone who does not want to wear the Seal of the Church will be executed. If they want to blame someone, they should blame their leaders for being traitors.” He said and disappeared from where he was.

The other four leaders followed him closely, ceasing to worry about whatever was happening here and returning to the Central City of the World.

The fate of the Zimmermann Kingdom was more terrifying than could be foreseen.
