Chapter 643: Hit it as much as you want
Just then, all the debris scattered around the room that belonged to the giant golem began to tremble.
It suddenly began to float, as if by magic, and in an instant, the immortal golems also turned into pieces that flew toward Alfred.
It was only a moment before Alfred’s entire body was completely surrounded by incredibly resistant pieces of rock, trapping him in a moderately large ball, which fell at Matthew’s feet.
He smiled.
The guy inside was shouting things that were difficult to understand, but he could understand him clearly.
“Go ahead, hit it as much as you want. It’s impossible for you to get out of there,” he said casually.
The entire dungeon had disappeared and returned to that typical dark setting in what appeared to be a desert of death. Although it hadn’t exactly disappeared, it had simply been compressed into this ball.
He checked what was at his feet and made sure he really couldn’t escape before sighing with relief.
Maintaining a small “immortal” ball for a long time was much easier and less costly than a huge dungeon, so his mission was a success. This guy couldn’t get out of there unless he wanted to.
He was practically sealed in, with no chance of getting out.
Ignoring Alfred’s continuous screams and insults, Matthew deactivated his ability.
The moment he returned to the real world, he witnessed a massacre.
Charlotte’s sword wreaked havoc, while her ability demonstrated its true capabilities in all its glory.
Fighting a crowd controller like Charlotte, who is also incredibly skilled with a sword, is truly unfortunate for anyone. That ability of hers was too amazing.
But she hadn’t killed the group’s most powerful members, leaving them for Matthew to do it himself. She knew that it would strengthen him in some way.
If it were up to him, Matthew would absorb them into his ability, just as he did with Alfred, but unfortunately, he couldn’t do that. Having so many inside him would consume too much.
As soon as he came out, everyone who was trying to break free looked at him in shock.
“You…” They shuddered. “W-Where is the Young Master?”
Matthew looked at them and smiled. “Do you think he can survive if he spends so much time fighting me? Haha, you are truly deluded to believe that a little Hill will defeat a Dietrich.”
“It’s impossible that you killed him!”
“How could you be so powerful?!”
“!”
Before some of them could speak, Matthew wielded his sword once more and stabbed them in the neck. Some of those guys’ blood splattered on him, but it tasted awful.
“Phew.” He spat it out. “Damn, your blood tastes awful.” Even though he was weaker than several of those present, the reality was that they couldn’t move.
Matthew had to praise Charlotte’s skill as he moved among them and decapitated several, absorbing their orbs.
He looked at her; she had finished her work. “How powerful is your ability really? At this point, I think you can actually paralyze me,” he said.
She smiled. “Really?” she asked, with a strange smile, and then she seemed to move like a butterfly up and down, and in a moment she was before him.
Matthew was about to decapitate the last of them, but as he tried to do so, he couldn’t move.
‘So much power?’ He looked at his hands and feet. Even though he was trying to move, he couldn’t.
She smiled. “You’re right. If I focus it completely on you, I can paralyze you. But it’s a disadvantage; my ability wasn’t made for that,” she said, decapitating the man behind her in the same movement.
Then she raised her hand and touched Matthew’s chin a few times.
He smiled. “That’s vulnerability, right? Your ability now works by taking away people’s resistance. It wasn’t there before.”
He realized this because of how easily she killed the guy behind her, taking advantage of the moment when she came out of her ability.
“Hahaha, you figured it out very quickly,” she said, allowing him to move.
Matthew quickly withdrew his hand before hitting her and put away his sword. “Did it appear when you came to this world?” he asked, curious.
“Yes.” She nodded. “That’s why I have to be careful when using this ability where there are many allies. It could be disastrous if any of them are paralyzed and an enemy isn’t.”
“Oh. So you evolved such an incredible ability.”
“I think all your skills did, didn’t they? Or at least, you gained much more impressive power than you had before. You were able to defeat that guy very easily,” she said.
“Well, something like that.” He looked at the corpses. “It cannot be discussed in a few minutes, so I’ll tell you later. Our mission here is over. Let’s go find Jack and leave this place.”
“Right away? Won’t we wait and see what happens?”
“If such an important Hill was here, it’s impossible that there aren’t more nearby. Staying here will only put us in danger. I can’t beat another guy with that kind of power anytime soon.”
“I understand.” She nodded and left some magic scattered around the city.
‘You will be my eyes and ears. Let me see what this treacherous city turns into,’ she thought, with a playful and slightly excited smile.
They went to the basement, where Jack was.
“Hey, we’re here for you,” he said, tapping on his cell. “Why are you still lying there?”
Jack looked up sharply and stood up. “Matthew!” he shouted. He quickly put his hand over his mouth to cover his mistake, but it was too late… or so he thought.
“Haha, don’t worry. No one is alive in this place, but I’ll ask you to hurry up. I don’t feel like fighting another smelly bastard again.” Matthew kicked the incredibly sturdy, bulletproof metal door. His kick shook the entire mountain, and the chains broke.
The door opened, so Matthew went in and removed Jack’s special shackles using keys stolen from the corpses upstairs.
Then he patted him on the shoulder. “You’ll have to use your ability several times, so get ready,” he said, leading him outside.
He was stunned, wondering if he was dreaming or something, but when he saw the pile of scattered corpses and heard the screams and explosions in the city, he realized that perhaps it was not a dream.
It was reality.
Upon arriving in the main hall, Matthew sent several messages to his true allies in the city, telling them to meet at a specific location in 30 minutes.
Then he looked at Jack. “Did they cut your tongue out or something?” he asked.
“Huh? No, no, Young Master. I’m just… stunned.”
“Surprised, huh?” Matthew smiled. “I couldn’t bear to see my brother-in-law, who swore allegiance to me, get caught on a mission I gave him myself. So I had to rush over here. You know, a leader’s responsibilities.” He said sarcastically.
Jack sighed and lowered his head. “I’m sorry for failing the mission,” he said.
“Failing?” Matthew laughed lightly. “I heard you gathered many people, so technically, you completed it. I was late in coming, which is different.”
Despite his words, Jack still didn’t feel good. “All of them… were sacrificed.” His voice fluctuated between sadness, melancholy, and a strange, inaudible cry that seemed to come from his soul.
