Chapter 639: Alfred Hill vs. Matthew Dietrich

Matthew stared at him for a few seconds without answering him, until he scoffed.

“They rule, eh. The Hill Clan that revolted against our Clan now rules the world we created and shaped with our own hands.” A dangerous glint crossed his eyes.

“As the grandson of the Hill God, what you should be doing right now is kneeling in front of me and begging your forgiveness for that betrayal.”

“But I understand.” Matthew smiled coldly. “The Hill Clan dared to betray the man who created them; how could their descendants have remorse? How could their descendants have respect for their superiors? So, don’t worry, I’ll see to it myself to make you kneel.”

He stepped forward and told Charlotte she did not need to move against him.

“He’s using skills to bypass yours. Since it’s the first time, it’s normal that you don’t understand it. Try to study this skill; all Hill Clan have the same pattern.” He said.

Alfred Hill frowned. ‘He knows a lot about our skills, huh. No wonder he’s one of those legendary beings.’ He thought.

‘But his power…’ He smiled. ‘Nothing worthy.’

The problem was that he couldn’t stop his subordinates from being imprisoned by that ability, so he should terribly praise that woman’s ability.

Despite his skills and power, she could still withstand that pressure. Although she had Matthew’s backing, it should not be enough.

Not only that, she was even more beautiful than any of the women he had seen, and that is no small thing. As one of the heirs of the current ruling Clan, he has met beauties from all over the world, so Charlotte’s beauty was eclipsing.

To him, it was a pity that she was the wife of his No. 1 enemy. The one he had been told stories about for a long time and was often compared to behind the scenes.

The world always said: There will never again be a more worthy Young Master than Matthew Dietrich.

Therefore, their look at him was one of intense hatred.

He wanted to prove to the world that he was more worthy than one of the legends. After all, didn’t he die before he was 30? He wasn’t that worthy, if he was.

That’s why, as soon as he learned that Matthew Dietrich was alive somewhere in the world, he endured all the consequences to come here.

He wanted to show him that he was above him.

And today he had the wonderful good fortune to meet him.

It must have been fate, working in his favor. It had to be some God trying to offer him his prey as a reward for his effort.

So he took several steps forward.

“Matthew Dietrich, I’ve heard a lot about you.” He spoke.

“Oh, have you? I suppose you’re afraid then. Everyone who has heard of me has felt fear invade their bodies.”

“Hahaha, on the contrary. My blood boils for proving my superiority to you.” He raised his arm to the front and pulled out a sword. “Come, throw as many skills at me as you want—as many as you have. I will introduce you to your true Counter. I will tell you that I was created specifically to be the greatest Counter you have ever had, Matthew Dietrich.”

At the same time, a second sword appeared in his other hand, and it was covered with a dangerous greenish-black aura.

Matthew watched this curiously.

‘An ability that can cut through other abilities. Coupled with his towering power, this guy should be at the top of the pyramid within the younger generation.’ But he smiled.

Suddenly, he raised his hand, and a small block appeared floating above it.

The block’s dark color with slightly bluish corners made it very striking. But the most striking thing about it was that it emitted no power.

It was there and everyone could see it, because it appeared right before their eyes, but they could not perceive it. They would think it didn’t even exist if they weren’t seeing it.

At that peculiarity, Alfred frowned, and Matthew spoke up.

“A counter? Haha. Matthew Dietrich doesn’t know that concept.” He said, and squeezed the cube into his hand.

It immediately activated, and his supreme ability appeared in a different form.

It enveloped him and Alfred before making them disappear and hover in the air. No one could touch him, but they could see him.

“You told me you wanted to take charge personally, right? Well then, be careful. I’ll be out in a moment.” Matthew’s voice reached Charlotte’s ears, and she smiled.

‘Tsk, I guess that works too. That guy just now looked pretty powerful, I don’t know if I can take him on right now.’ She thought and looked dangerously at those in front of her.

A king, many important ministers, and a Pillar. She smiled coldly.

“Time to begin, then. It would be a disgrace to my name if it comes out and I haven’t finished the job yet.” She spoke.

—

Meanwhile, inside the cube, Alfred frowned.

‘A skill?’

Looking at each side, he saw that everything was a little dark. The floor was gray, and there were no walls. There were no cities or stars, either, so they were nowhere in the real world.

But how the hell was a skill above his ability activated? Even the skill cast by that girl, who was evidently supreme class, could not be activated!

What the hell was this skill?

He looked at Matthew, who appeared before him, and clenched his swords.

“You have many secrets, Matthew Dietrich. An ability capable of surpassing the cut of mine… What is this?” he asked.

Matthew shrugged his shoulders. “To tell you the truth, even I don’t know. But lately I’m starting to understand it more than you guys would like.”

Though Alfred frowned, he soon let out a derisive snort.

“Although I’m impressed by such an ability, you still dared to bring me here and fight me alone. It seems you don’t understand my power.” He spoke. “Even if you block part of my ability with that strangeness of yours, you are unworthy of facing me.” He said, raising his sword to point it at his chest.

Matthew chuckled a little.

“Haha, I brought you here just because I understand your power. It’s too high for my wife to face you currently, so I’d rather fight you alone. Anyway…” He raised his hand as well and made his sword appear in it. “You are unworthy.”
