Minutes passed, and in no time, an hour came, but the pain only seemed to be increasing.

Eventually, it became so unbearable that staying conscious would break his mind, so he let the tower knock him unconscious.

However, just when he lost consciousness, his soul was pulled out from his body, appearing in a green field in an unknown realm. Everything happened so fast that before he knew, his surroundings had changed.

Kent had no idea the realm he appeared in, but he would take that over the pain he was going through in the physical realm.

“As long as this isn’t the afterlife, then I am cool.” He took a deep breath and sat down, completely happy to have escaped the pain.

He expected to feel some pain when he made up his mind to fuse with the void wings. He knew those things were always painful.

However, what he felt was more than pain. It was a soul-eating, bone-shattering, mind-breaking pain that no man should be subjected to.

So, even if he didn’t know where he was, feeling no pain made him happy.

However, his relaxation was soon disturbed when, out of nowhere, the void shattered, and a powerful force slammed down, prompting him to wake.

“What now?” Kent looked at the crack, but aside from infinity of darkness, he saw nothing else. It was as if staring into True Darkness, hoping to see light.

However, no matter how hard he strained his eyes, he saw nothing.

The void remained open for a couple more minutes, unsure if he was being messed with. He expected something to happen, but it seemed he wouldn’t be too lucky this time around.

The void seems to be messing with him instead.

Suddenly, a wave of wind blew from it and washed over Kent.

The moment that happened, Kent saw them.

From within the void, strings of runic inscriptions poured out, arranging themselves into a string of nine vertical lines. If those verses in ancient runes saw this, they would grin and set aside everything to focus on interpreting them.

However, while extremely complex, Kent took just a single glance, and he understood what they represented.

“There are nine seals in total. To be able to harness the power of the Jade Void Wings fully, I must master the nine forms of the [Void Drive] technique.

The moment a level is mastered to perfection, a seal will be lifted. Once a seal is lifted, a portion of the true power of the Jade Void Wings will be lifted.

However, that isn’t all. The moment a seal is lifted, I will gain affinity for the void and be able to harness its true power in mastering the eight remaining levels.”

Kent paused and took a deep breath. He may be casually reading these scripts, but the implications, the hidden meanings, and the true nature of the wing and the technique were more than he was showing.

The wings are legendary treasures. They have so much more use than just harnessing their flight ability. In fact, flight is just the basic use for it.

It can be used as armour, a weapon, a shield, and many more things. However, to master that, Kent must first of all learn the [Void Drive] technique.

Second, he must master the first form of the technique to at least an intermediate level before he can summon the wings and use them for flight.

Third, if he wants to unlock the first form of the wing, he must reach perfection, which would also give him void affinity and even set him at ‘Medium’ void mastery.

It was basically going to be a wild ride and a lot of cultivation if he wanted to unlock the first form of the wing before entering the Star Gateway.

“I’d better start comprehending the technique before time goes against me.” Kent closed his eyes and sent the runes to his mind space, where he began to comprehend them.

When he achieved Basic mastery, he realised that his speed had multiplied by ten. Then, without having any idea how, his comprehension took a sudden jump, allowing him to attain Intermediate mastery.

That was when his speed was multiplied by 25. Now, as he closed his eyes, comprehending the [Void Glide] toward the Advanced mastery stage, he could tell his speed would surge even more.

Suddenly, the void burst open again, and a colossal dragon flew up, a powerful shockwave following him. When he came to a stop, the space between his talons and around his wings shattered.

Kent raised his head into the air and let out yet another mighty and victorious roar.

ROAR

The three pairs of void wings hovered two inches off his extremely sturdy, scaly body.

His eyes opened a few seconds later, releasing a powerful energy. He transformed into his humanoid form. In that form, too, the void wings hovered inches off his skin.

However, when he gave them a command to spread, they did, and then, with a flap, he shot into the air like a missile.
