Capítulo 1262: First Soul Warrior – Calix Knoll (1)
Gaia joined her sisters to celebrate the contract she had secured for them. Of course, the tower points are only valuable for the three cosmic sisters: Gaia, Dori, and Akira. However, Purity and Yuna didn’t mind joining them.
They also have their roles to play.
In all, they are just happy to be useful again.
Kent ignored them and moved toward Uncle Drew, Avotha, Vargus, and Lene. They spend most of their time inside the tower garden, if they are not training the legion.
“How are you four doing?” Kent asked, sitting on a swinging chair opposite Uncle Drew and Lene.
“Living the best time of our lives,” Vargus replied, feeling very happy to be in the land of the living yet again. The rest had the same expressions on their faces.
Hell was no fun at all.
“Good to hear that. In any case, I will be going away for a while. However, since I promised to accompany you to rescue Kaelith, when you hear from your subordinate, let me know right away.”
“Do you need our help?” Lene asked before Uncle Drew could nod in agreement with Kent.
“Having you there will make things easy; however, I have to handle this on my own.” Lene nodded, though she would love to go with Kent.
Where Kent is going is considered among the top-most dangerous places in the High Worlds. So having a demigod by his side would surely come in handy.
But Kent is already aware of the dangers ahead of him, so he must do this on his own.
“My guy is only three months out from Kaelith’s planet. Once he lands there, I will let you know. For now, we will join the legion in their mission to the dungeon.
Of course, we won’t help them in clearing the floors. We will only help look for the valuable stuff after they have cleared it.
However, once they start meeting immortals, we will have to make a move,” Uncle Drew finally said.
“I don’t have any problem with that. Just keep them safe.”
After spending a few more hours talking with them, Kent retired to the Soul Tower to meditate. Since Vexthra is bound to return in three days, he decided to wait for her and also the soul warrior to finish its transformation.
He tried to buy a few skills for his ice element, but in the end, he settled only for a God-grade defence technique called Turtle Shell.
He would create his own skills or later inherit some when he met the Ice Sovereign again. But for now, he would only do with the defence skill and hope it was enough to save him from the dangers he would soon be facing in the mission ahead of him.
—
Three days later, he received a notification on the completion of his First Soul Warrior creations. It had been seven days already.
“Moment of truth.”
Kent entered the Soul Universe and quickly made his way to the site where the process was underway. When he arrived, he was shocked at the sight before him.
Seven days ago, when he came here, there were hundreds of thousands of Soul Spirits here. So imagine his shock when he came to meet fewer than a hundred thousand Soul Spirits.
This doesn’t make any sense to him. However, when he raised his head and saw the golden cocoon shining with a brilliant golden light, he felt his mind suddenly go numb.
He could feel it.
Deep within the cocoon, something – someone – extremely dangerous is about to stir. The sheer danger in the soul energy it emitted told Kent that perhaps sacrificing about 80% of his Soul Spirits was worth it.
CRACK
Suddenly, it cracked, and a wave of terrifying energy poured out from it. Kent took a few steps back, feeling his soul, which is immune to soul attacks, suddenly getting suppressed.
However, while he was being suppressed, he felt no fear. If anything, he seemed to be feeling a new channel for earning Soul Essence opening as more cracks appeared inside the cocoon.
Suddenly, the cocoon shattered, revealing a hooded figure holding two daggers, arms crossed over his chest. His face is hidden behind the hood; however, Kent knew it was the same Soul Spirit he called 7 days ago.
But regardless of how he sees it, this new version of him is solid, like a living being, and much stronger than before. In fact, he looks more deadly than even Kent.
That is because, unlike Kent, the aura this hooded figure is emitting is that of a Tier 22 existence (Death Stage).
However, compared to ordinary Death-stage warriors, this hooded figure is much more dangerous. That can even be felt from just looking at him.
‘Damn, this bastard is dangerous.’
Kent took his dear time to examine the hooded figure for a few minutes before he turned to the message that appeared before his eyes.
⟦To finish the Transformation Process, you must give your creation a name⟧
‘A name, huh?’ Kent had to think again, since this time, he wasn’t prepared to name anyone. In his mind, he only wanted to see if he would be able to create something good from his latest ability.
However, since it had come to this, he started to think of a good name.
After five minutes of thinking, a good name appeared in his mind.
“I will call him Calix Knoll.”
⟦Congratulations, you have created your first Soul Warrior⟧
His status page appeared, but Kent ignored it and focused instead on the person now kneeling before him. Kent didn’t even know how he got there.
One moment, he gave him a name; the next, he was kneeling before him.
“My Lord.” A deep voice then entered his head, causing Kent to widen his eyes.
“You can speak.”
“Yes, my Lord.” The whole thing is just bizarre and sounds very odd. He knew Soul Spirits were non-intelligent beings. They only follow the instructions their owner gives them.
So from the start, he wasn’t expecting to hear a sound from this Soul Warrior. But he was proven wrong.
“Impressive. I suppose this is something new to be happy about.” Kent smiled and then told Calix to stand up.
His hood extends into a dark, tattered cloak, and his body is wrapped in black leather-like armour. He held on tightly to his daggers like his life depended on them.
“Tell me your revolutionary path to becoming an Immortal,” Kent asked.
He saw that the Soul Spirits of the immortals he had killed were gone. This means Calix had absorbed them, yet he is still a Death Stage Soul Warrior.
So he had to ask… He had yet to know more about him, but that can wait since he still had no idea whether Calix could only be three realms above him or if he could go higher than that.
“To evolve to the next stage, I need to absorb a large amount of pure Soul spirits to saturate my core. I am currently 49% done.”
“I see. Then would absorbing the remaining Soul Spirits be enough?”
“No. I need stronger and purer Soul Spirits. These ones are of low quality. The least I could do is use them to forge more weapons.”
“Wait, you could forge weapons too…”
Calix lifted his head, allowing Kent to see his crimson eyes. “Of course, one of my [Aspects] is
Forgemaster.”
