Chapter 1078: Alina’s Plans

“Kaizo, take on the brutes; they are much more destructive,” Kent said, parrying an attack from a monarch.

Then he jumped back and moved to his left, watching as Lani slid into the shadow of a monarch and emerged, her dagger plunging deep into his heart.

Kaizo nodded, already locked in combat with a giant wearing spiked gauntlets.

Kaizo smashed his fist into his face before ducking low, rising back up with an uppercut that sent the brute staggering back.

Sylara appeared behind him and grabbed a chunk of his neck, tearing it away. Her claws glowed red as she grabbed the second chunk of flesh and ripped it off, too.

In the end, his head lay slumped, held by only the esophagus.

“Nasty.” Kaizo chose to move away from Sylara, who sank her fangs into the almost-dead demon’s arm and started drinking his blood.

Sylvara needed blood to become stronger.

She had lost her Blood Hunger seal during the battle with the forsaken race. So until she could get into her element, she had to at least become much more powerful.

So, nasty as it may seem, she was drinking the blood of a monarch, which, with just a single gulp, was able to raise her strength to a new level.

After a few more gulps, she moved away and started to hunt like the vampire she was. She can’t form a new blood hunger seal here due to the nature of the battle, but Kent promises to take her to form when he ascends.

Lani, Vari, and Liora, the three assassins, moved from one shadow to the next, either killing if they could or severely injuring the enemy.

The number of monarchs far exceeds what the legion can handle. Of course, the seven demons sent over by the Paragon are also proving to be much more deadly.

They are very deadly…in fact.

But the monarchs aren’t normal warriors. They are criminals, hardened and tainted by the constant dangers they found themselves in while incarcerated.

So they are pushing back.

Yi Lai, previously known as the Hunter, had unleashed her two undead dragons, and she herself had already dived into the battle, fighting using her sword.

She is a necromancer, but she can also hold her own in combat, especially in close combat.

Up in the air, Alina is working on a formation. Ingrid and Elaine are standing guard, making sure nobody interrupts the trump card everyone is waiting for.

Elaine is creating something called a living formation.

It will not have consciousness like a living being, but it will continue to grow as it accumulates more spiritual qi.

For now, she wants to create aspects that will both attack and defend.

When she arrived on the battlefield, she sensed a beautiful formation carved into the battlefield. Naturally, as someone with eyes to see anything runes, she was able to decipher the formations and saw a way to further improve it.

Millions of years after this battle is over, the formation will continue to grow until one day, it becomes so powerful that even gods would have to run from it.

In a way, without Earth knowing it, a defense so advanced is being created by a Formation expert who single-handedly imprisoned a calamity billions of years ago with a few strokes of her rune knife.

“Uhm, Alina, it is not that I want to pressure you, but I feel like we are missing a lot. Maybe you should hurry up,” Ingrid said, watching as her sisters battled the monarchs.

“Yeah. Move your big ass quickly and let us also join in the fun,” Elaine giggled; however, Alina didn’t mind them. She wasn’t the one who told them to guard her.

They, of their own accord, chose to guard her, so they could only complain for all she cared.

Seeing she didn’t want to mind them, Elaine stirred the conversation away from Alina.

“That lady is very strong,” Elaine said, watching a certain beautiful redhead (Queenie) cut a deep wound into the Nirvana stage warrior and then raise her hand, summoning blood. She shaped the blood into spears and attacked with it.

“She isn’t the only one… All of them are strong. I guess they have been preparing for this day for a very long time, and now that it is here, all they can do is fight with everything they have.”

Mara was suddenly struck on the side, her body shooting through the air like a meteorite.

Elyndra, the strongest undead so far in Kent’s legion, waved her staff, and space formed into a bubble around the falling Mara.

When she landed on the ground, she felt no pain, all thanks to Elyndra using her space manipulation abilities to save her.

Elaine waved her staff, and a wave of green energy enveloped Mara, restoring her to full strength.

Mara gave her a nod, and then she went after the monarch who struck her with the spear.

As they say, revenge is best served cold and ruthless.

Considering how far away she landed, Mara now had to move slowly toward the monarch. However, as if someone had seen through her motive, she found her body suddenly moved, and soon she was standing before the monarch, who seemed startled.

Mara kicked with her right leg, landing a powerful blow on the monarch’s leg.

He staggered back but managed to gain a foothold just when Mara unleashed a sweeping attack with her sword, targeting the same leg she had kicked.

The monarch reacted quickly. He blocked the blow but was pushed back.

COUGH.

The monarch coughed and lowered his head, seeing a sword sticking out of his chest.

He raised his head and saw Mara looking at him, her cold eyes now filled with an amused expression.

That was all he saw before his consciousness faded, not knowing who killed him.

Nara retrieved her sword and grinned at her sister. “I leave your side for a second, and you nearly die. Don’t make me look bad, sis.”

Mara smirked, giving her sister the ‘I had everything under control’ look. However, hearing her words, though she sounded joking, Mara knew she was worried.

“I will be more careful.”

“That will be great,” Nara said before looking in the direction Kent was fighting in.

“Are you surprised?” Mara asked, and Nara nodded.

“I am. I never expected him to cross over to an entire Universe just to fight. Makes me wonder how this experience will affect him.”

“He is a dragon, so what do you expect? I only wish when all this is over and we go back, he wouldn’t go on any adventure for a while.”

The two sisters nodded, watching their man kill one monarch after another. They truly never expected Kent to enter yet another battle after spending time in the past, battling beasts of different shapes and sizes.

They were waiting for him to come and bring the entire Alliance to their knees, making them become soul essence donors before he ascended.

However, given how things are going now, they can only wish for something more subtle.

Naturally, all of them want to lock him down for months, just making love to him.

But for now, they can only focus on battling their foes.

“Let’s kill some more, I suppose… They won’t kill themselves now, would they?”

The two sisters decided to stick together now.

Although they both have the same cultivation base, Nara is much stronger and more experienced than Mara, her baby sister. So she felt some form of overprotectiveness over her.

Soon, the last monarch appeared on the battlefield, and the rift closed. The green and blue portals also closed, and finally, the portal leading to Planet Nebu also closed.
