Chapter 1076: Angel Killer (3)

This time, however, he was the one receiving the end of this aura, and while Kent had no idea how this poor angel was feeling, he started to grow excited, for he had finally awakened the Chaos Dragon Aura.

But that wasn’t all.

Awakening the aura gave Kent his first Dragon Technique. The ones he had been using were all innate abilities and a few borrowed ones from Chaos’s memories.

After making sure his aura had slipped into Zevrael’s bones, he made his move.

The next roar from Kent caused the air around them to tremble. The Angelic Domain shattered like glass.

Zevrael barely had time to react before Kent vanished.

A blur of black and crimson appeared behind him.

“Dragon Art – Abyssal Severance.”

A single slash.

The world went silent.

Zevrael’s eyes widened.

His sword dropped.

A line of molten energy split his chest from shoulder to hip.

He fell to his knees, light fading from his body.

Kent loomed over his head, telling his fading soul that he, the Chaos Dragon, had defied the odds yet again.

⟦Master, you have to stop them from building the transporter⟧

Tower reminded Kent, who was catching his breath. If this were his universe, the being he had killed would be nine realms above him.

Those are odds no normal person should be able to breach. However, Kent defied those odds and did what many deemed impossible.

‘Tower, do you think I have what it takes to kill an immortal?’

⟦I don’t want to make you feel bad, Master, but if death is something you want to experience, then fighting an immortal is the answer.⟧

Kent smirked and took to the sky.

RUMBLE

However, the moment he rose into the air, a powerful pressure he had never felt before fell on him, sending him crashing to the ground.

COUGH

Kent caught a mouthful of blood, his bones creaking as he struggled to move his body.

“Who are you?” Suddenly, the voice entered Kent’s ears, causing him to scan his surroundings. However, he saw nothing or anyone that would suggest an attacker.

“My name is Chaos, and I would love to be released before I get angry.”

“Are you a native of this universe?” the voice asked again, this time with increasing pressure. Kent immediately realised he was facing an enemy—someone with knowledge of the multiverse.

“I am not from this universe… but I am here now, so what can you do about it?”

This time, the voice didn’t speak, but the pressure remained.

“Look, we both know you can’t do anything to me. After all, as a god, messing in the affairs of mortals is a huge offence. So why don’t you get on with your business and let me have fun slaughtering your lackeys?”

The voice remained quiet again; however, Kent could feel the anger the person was in. After five minutes, they let him move. By then, the pressure had drained Kent’s energy down to 40%.

“What an idiot god. It makes me wonder if this universe only has brain-dead gods,” Kent chuckled and took to the sky.

However, after a single flap of his wings, he realised the main reason the god had to sacrifice his divinity was just to stop him…

“The transporter is ready.”

Kent said that just when a beam was fired, a rift was torn in space, creating a very wide portal.

“No.”

Kent moved and arrived before the portal in an instant. His body shifted, and he transformed into his demi-dragon form.

The last talisman Kent bought for 1 billion tower points appeared in his palm, and he threw it into the portal…

“GAAP”

Somewhere on the battlefield, Kent’s sword, which was claiming intent runes, suddenly trembled and vanished, appearing in Kent’s firm grip just in time for him to block a powerful swing from the monarch…

“Activate!”

Kent shouted, activating the talisman.

In an instant, the rift was sealed by a golden light; however, Kent was soon surrounded.

What is the worst-case scenario that can happen in battle?

In a dire battle, where the odds are against you, the most dreadful thing that can happen to you is gaining reinforcements.

That won’t only make the situation even more deadly, but it will also escalate the battle, ending it faster than it should.

So Kent prepared for it.

He brought a talisman he planned to use to buy an hour of time when things were dire and the enemy called for backup.

Initially, it was intended to use it to freeze the Nirvana stage warriors in place for one hour.

Now, he had sealed the rift with it for an hour, meaning they had just 60 minutes to change things before there was nothing else he could do…

‘Tower, look through everything I have and give me something that can change the state of the battle.’

Kent clashed with the monarchs.

Some slipped away and started attacking the seal. However, knowing there was no way for them to break it unless the one hour was over, he ignored them.

Kent turned and looked in Paragon’s direction, but all he could see was fierce combat, one he wasn’t sure he could handle even with his bloodline now at 25%.

The Paragon was locked in with six Peak Nirvana stage warriors. Strangely, he seemed to be fending them off, but he was also under heavy assault.

⟦Don’t even think about it, Master. Interfering with his battle will give the Heavenly Daos a reason to send someone more powerful. The least you can do is make sure there is a world left behind after all of this is over.⟧

Kent really thought about it.

He knew if he were to take two out of the six warriors off Paragon’s hands, the speed at which they would kill them would be much faster.

This meant if things were to go well, the chances of both him and Paragon facing whatever would come out of the rift were high.

However, after hearing what the Tower said, he knew things weren’t as simple as he would have liked. But there was a silver lining, and that was the fact that all Nirvana stage warriors were contained.

‘But what happens when the rift opens and even I can’t handle what comes out?’

⟦You can only do your best, Master… that is all you can do.⟧

‘I wish Kaizo and the Legion were here,’ Kent sighed, grabbing a monarch with his clawed hands. He pulled him close to his body and then, using him as a meat shield, the arrow that came from behind him was received by him.

Kent threw him aside to suffer and die quietly.

More targets closed in on him.

Soon, 55 minutes had by, and looking around, Kent could tell things weren’t going to end well for his side. However, he knew, as the Tower said, that all he could do was his best, and he was doing his best.

After one hour, the seal was lifted.

However, when the first person appeared, a chill ran down Kent’s spine.

But then something strange happened.

From Kent’s soul universe, a golden key vibrated and shot out, appearing on the outside. It flew into the air and burst into golden sparks.

A golden portal formed. Kent, who was ready for action, heard a voice come from the golden portal, bringing a smile to his face.

“Here I come.”
