Capítulo 525: Chapter 525: The First Cooperation Was Remarkably Harmonious

The massive form of Black Dragon Marcel’s dragon shape cast a shadow over the entire Dragon Bone City.

The sunlight was completely blocked out, and the entire city was plunged into darkness.

The soldiers from both sides, who had been engaged in battle within the city, couldn’t help but stop. They all turned their gaze toward the center of Dragon Bone City.

Everyone realized that something monumental was happening at the heart of the city, at the palace of Crimson King.

This event would determine the outcome of the entire battle.

“Little ants, stop your futile resistance! Submit to the great dragon race! Anyone who dares continue to resist will be destroyed by my immense power!”

Black Dragon Marcel’s grand voice echoed throughout the city.

The dragon race and the Dragonkin warriors were caught up in a frenzy of celebration.

In previous battles, every time they heard Black Dragon Marcel’s booming voice, it meant that victory had been achieved.

Crimson King’s soldiers, on the other hand, fell into panic.

They began to speculate whether Crimson King had already been killed by Black Dragon Marcel, and that was why he was able to make such an announcement.

However, these speculations didn’t cause Crimson King’s soldiers to turn against him.

They chose to continue resisting.

After all, only those who were loyal to Crimson King, the true bloodline, were allowed to live in Dragon Bone City.

They would not betray him so easily.

On the plaza in front of the palace, Luca, who was closest to Black Dragon Marcel, immediately threw the Dusk Seal toward Marcel.

He quickly realized that the giant dragon form of Black Dragon Marcel was only an illusion.

To have a chance to end the battle swiftly, the illusion needed to be shattered as soon as possible.

The Dusk Seal, trailing a dim yellow light, sped toward Black Dragon Marcel.

Naturally, it didn’t escape Marcel’s notice.

He immediately swung one of his massive claws toward Luca, aiming to strike him down.

“You ignorant insect!” Marcel bellowed. “You still dare to defy the great Dragon King! I will make you pay the price immediately!”

As Marcel’s enormous dragon claw came crashing down, endless waves of black shadows descended from the sky.

The plaza in front of the palace was instantly shrouded in absolute darkness.

Even the dim yellow light emitted by the Dusk Seal was nearly impossible to see.

Black Dragon Marcel’s attack wasn’t just a physical strike from his massive form; he also tapped into the dark power he commanded.

When all the dark energy coalesced to form an absolute dark domain, he could freely torment his enemies within it.

As the absolute darkness descended, Andrea and Lucas were gripped by intense fear.

They stood back to back, cautiously scanning their surroundings.

At that moment, they could only see each other; they could no longer see Luca, who was just a short distance away.

“How did it suddenly get dark? Did Black Dragon steal the sun?”

Lucas whispered, his voice trembling, as he nervously kept a watchful eye on their surroundings.

Andrea, slightly exasperated, replied,

“How could he steal the sun? This is obviously a skill he’s released! Don’t get distracted. We need to stay vigilant and keep observing our surroundings. While Black Dragon’s main target is Luca, there’s a chance that monsters will appear within this absolute dark domain.”

Andrea, with more experience and calmness in battle, could make a precise judgment of the situation.

Just as he finished speaking, unsettling footsteps echoed from within the absolute darkness.

In the next moment, several twisted monsters sprang out of the darkness, lunging toward the two of them.

Andrea and Lucas fought back-to-back against the monsters.

The battle had barely started when a piercing scream suddenly echoed from nearby.

Soon after, a faint yellow light appeared within the absolute darkness.

The dim yellow light from the Dusk Seal rapidly expanded, eventually engulfing the entire plaza in front of the palace.

It was only then that Andrea and Lucas could clearly see what was happening ahead.

Black Dragon Marcel’s massive form had vanished. Now, he was writhing in agony on the ground in human form.

Luca stood nearby, half-kneeling on the ground, holding the Dragon-Slayer Greatsword.

In the earlier exchange, both sides had sustained some injuries.

The Dusk Seal had broken through the absolute dark domain Marcel created, giving Luca the opportunity to strike with the Dragon-Slayer Greatsword.

When the Dragon-Slayer Greatsword collided with Marcel’s descending dragon claw, the claw was pierced through. The Dragon-Slayer Greatsword’s special effect against the dragon race was triggered, and Marcel’s entire dragon claw was severed.

With his claw severed, Marcel could no longer maintain his dragon form.

He screamed in pain and immediately reverted to his human form.

On the other side, Luca braced himself against Marcel’s heavy blow.

Although Luca’s physical strength was incredibly high, he was still sent flying by the force of Marcel’s strike. He barely managed to use the Dragon-Slayer Greatsword to support himself, preventing him from falling directly to the ground.

Marcel, still howling in pain, was the first to recover.

He gritted his teeth against the agony from his severed arm and slowly climbed to his feet.

“Today, I will kill you! You damned beast!”

Marcel’s eyes locked onto Luca, who was still kneeling, and he had made up his mind—no matter what, he would finish off his opponent.

No one had ever inflicted such significant damage on him in all of his previous battles.

Luca remained still, seemingly waiting for Marcel to approach.

At that moment, Luca heard Sophia’s anxious voice in his mind.

“Get up quickly! You can only rely on yourself to fight Marcel, I’m not in a position to intervene!”

Sophia knew very well that she couldn’t be of any help in this battle.

So, she could only hope that Luca would be able to stand up and face Marcel once more.

Luca, of course, also wanted to get back on his feet.

But he could feel that his heart was struggling, and the damage from Marcel’s recent attack was far greater than he had anticipated.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to stand; he simply couldn’t.

Marcel slowly walked up to Luca, and let out a cold chuckle.

“You can’t move, can you? Even with that broken sword of yours, the one that does special damage to our dragon race, you’re still no match for me. Now, you’re at my mercy!”

As he walked, Marcel deliberately used his mental probing ability to scan Luca’s mind.

Within Luca’s mental world, Marcel sensed panic, fear, anger, and regret.

This meant that Luca was fully aware of the perilous state he was in.

Confirming that Luca had no means of resistance, Marcel finally relaxed.

In a short amount of time, he had already devised methods in his mind to torture Luca.

With Luca now incapable of fighting back, Marcel had plenty of time to vent his fury.

Luca lifted his head, casting Marcel a contemptuous glance.

“What do you mean by that?! How dare you look at me like that!”

Marcel saw the disdain and contempt in Luca’s eyes, which only fueled his anger further.

“I won’t let you die easily! Even if you die, I’ll make sure your soul suffers eternal torment!” Marcel snarled, his expression twisted with malice.

He grabbed Luca by the neck with his hand.

“Do you feel the difficulty in breathing?” Marcel said slowly, lifting Luca off the ground. “This is just the beginning. I won’t kill you right away.”

As he spoke, there was suddenly a loud crash from the direction of the palace behind him.

A red light shot toward Marcel at high speed.

In shock, Marcel quickly threw Luca aside.

He realized he had made a huge mistake.

He had focused all of his attention on Luca, which gave Crimson King the opportunity to escape from the palace’s seal.

At that moment, Crimson King stood with a massive sword in his hands, the blade surrounded by writhing flesh and blood. His body radiated a crimson glow, and he appeared both insane and dangerous.

“I can’t believe I forgot about you! What a mistake!”

Marcel growled at Crimson King.

At that moment, Luca’s voice came from behind him.

“You didn’t make a mistake; you were just misled by me.”

Marcel turned around in surprise to see Luca standing once again.

Luca, with the Dragon-Slayer Greatsword in hand and a smile on his face, said, “You really thought I had no means of resistance? I was just deceiving you. And to make the deception work, I even fooled myself. I kept convincing myself in my mind that I had no resistance left. Only by doing that could I make you completely lower your guard.”

Marcel’s expression grew even darker.

At this point, Crimson King spoke in a hoarse voice.

“Although this is our first time fighting together, we are perfectly in sync.”

It was clear that he greatly appreciated Luca.

Luca nodded in Crimson King’s direction.

For both of them, now was not the time for mutual praise.

Although Marcel was injured, he was still not someone they could easily kill.

So, they had to remain focused and vigilant.

Black Dragon Marcel, on the other hand, was growing increasingly anxious.

At this moment, he realized that he was no match for both Crimson King and Luca.

He began to think about how to escape.

With victory no longer possible and himself trapped in a perilous situation, fleeing was, of course, the most rational choice.
