Chapter 741: Get Rid of Them All With Ease – Part 1

If he left now, he’d be jeopardizing his position. After all, he wasn’t officially the Fifth Apostle yet—one final mission still stood in the way of him being recognized as the Fifth Apostle.

Coincidentally, that mission was to capture a girl from the Spirit race. At first, he had assumed it would be an easy task. But he couldn’t have been more wrong.

The girl possessed several strange weapons that allowed her to evade Rigot, his subordinate, again and again.

And now, a mysterious and powerful man was protecting her.

If this mission hadn’t been directly tied to his promotion as the Fifth Apostle, he would have abandoned it long ago.

Rigot remained silent. He understood how important this mission was, but he couldn’t hide his fear of the unknown man.

The aura surrounding him was terrifying—so much so that Rigot felt goosebumps crawl across his skin, as if he were standing before an ancient monster from another world.

But he had no way out. Escaping and leaving the Fifth Apostle behind would lead to severe punishment. Even if he tried to run, the headquarters could track him through the soul imprint embedded within him.

The Fifth Apostle took a deep breath to calm his nerves, then stared coldly at Leon.

“Sir, I don’t know who you are. But since you know where I come from, I’ll be blunt. Hand over the girl, and I won’t cause trouble. This is our business—I hope you’ll cooperate,” he said coolly.

He wasn’t sure what connection the man had with the Temple of Twilight, but judging from his earlier words, there was obvious hostility.

Since he had only recently joined the Temple, it was natural that he didn’t recognize the man or understand the reason behind their conflict.

“Pfft!” Leon let out a soft chuckle. Folding his arms across his chest, he said, “So, your friend called you the Fifth Apostle, huh? That means you’re his replacement? Heh… what a surprise. I never thought the Temple of Twilight would stoop so low—choosing someone like you to be part of the Seven Apostles?”

He shook his head with a mocking sneer. “The Temple of Twilight is a joke—and so are the people in it. No wonder you rats are always hiding from me.”

Hearing that, the Fifth Apostle’s rage erupted like wildfire. His face flushed red, and his hands curled into tight fists.

“You bastard!” he spat through gritted teeth. “I tried to be civil, and this is your answer? Fine—then die!”

He clapped his hands together, forming a complex hand seal. Instantly, four magic circles appeared in front of him.

*Buzz!*

The circles pulsed with a blinding black light. Moments later, each circle unleashed a towering humanoid creature—dragged up as if from the very depths of the underworld.

Their pitch-black skin stretched over bulging, muscular frames, and they stood nearly five meters tall. Their faces were grotesque, with bulging red eyes, snub noses, and sword-like teeth capable of tearing flesh with terrifying ease.

In their left hands, each gripped a massive black mace that radiated raw, destructive power.

Anyone struck by it would be reduced to nothing more than a splatter of blood and crushed flesh in an instant.

Rigot stood frozen, stunned by the overwhelming display of power from the Fifth Apostle. Yet his thoughts remained stuck on something far more unsettling—Leon’s words.

“Who is this man?” he wondered. “As far as I know, the Temple of Twilight has no enemy this powerful.”

Unlike the newly appointed Fifth Apostle, Rigot had served the Temple for a long time. He was well-versed in its inner workings—and its secrets.

Then, suddenly, a chilling realization struck him. His eyes widened in horror.

“The Fated One…”

The name surfaced in his mind without warning, and his entire body trembled.

If there was one figure the Temple of Twilight feared above all else, it was the Fated One.

According to the temple’s prophecy, he was the one fated to shatter the resurrection cycle of their god—the Evil God.

Many had already fallen at his hands: the Seventh Apostle, the Fourth Apostle, and even the previous Fifth Apostle.

Each met a gruesome end. Afterward, the Temple of Twilight sealed itself off from the outside world, choosing to operate from the shadows.

Rigot stared at Leon with growing intensity. Slowly, the truth began to crystallize in his mind—the man’s appearance matched the records almost exactly.

Only two features were different: Leon’s white hair and his purple eyes. According to the texts, the Fated One was described as having black hair and golden eyes.

But Rigot remembered a vague rumor—one he hadn’t believed until now.

They said the Fated One could alter the color of his hair and eyes at will.

And now, he was standing face-to-face with that legendary figure. His heart pounded wildly, as if it were about to burst from his chest.

“Fifth Apostle, this is dangerous! He—”

Before the words were even finished, the Fifth Apostle had already pointed his index finger forward and shouted, “Attack him!”

*Argh!*

The monsters let out soul-shaking cries that echoed in every direction.

Without hesitation, they charged straight toward Leon.

The sheer force of their steps shook the ground and the surrounding trees. Even the seven-meter-high trees blocking their path were uprooted by their massive bodies.

Yet, despite the terrifying sight, Leon remained calm and composed—completely unbothered, as if nothing posed a threat to him.

Had this happened back when he was still a hero, he might have drawn the Holy Sword of Zenith to face them.

But at his current level, that was no longer necessary.

With a relaxed motion, he lifted his index finger to the sky.

A faint black light appeared at its tip, stretching thinly until it resembled a thread swaying in the wind.

Then, with that same finger, he drew a slow horizontal line through the air.

Under the watchful gaze of the Fifth Apostle, the charging monsters suddenly froze. Their bodies stiffened, as if time itself had stopped at that very moment.

The sight shocked him to the core. But before he could even speak, the monsters’ heads suddenly snapped off, followed by a torrent of foul, black blood.

*Thud!*

Their massive bodies collapsed at once, crashing to the ground and sending violent tremors through the area within a fifty-meter radius.

“What… how is that possible?” The Fifth Apostle stared in horror, eyes wide.

Those monsters were from the underworld—beasts of immense power. He had used them many times before to crush powerful enemies.

And yet now, his so-called ultimate weapons… were dead?

A sharp pain throbbed in his head as he instinctively took a few steps back, gripped by a wave of bone-deep fear.

“Who are you?” he asked, his voice trembling.

There was no longer any trace of arrogance or bravado beneath his hood—only fear and disbelief.

Leon gave a slight smile as he stepped forward.

“Me? You don’t need to know. You’ll find out soon enough—when you meet your friends in hell.”
