MIGHT AS WELL BE OP - Chapter 890
Capítulo 890: Suicide
The moment Aaaninja’s voice echoed through the space, every single pair of eyes present turned toward him almost instinctively. For a brief moment, silence reigned as everyone studied him, trying to read his expression, his posture, or even the faintest fluctuation in his aura. After observing him for barely a split second, Aura Nova decided to speak first.
“Where is the Dragon?” she asked calmly, her voice steady, her blue eyes fixed on Aaaninja.
“He left,” Aaaninja replied plainly, his tone neutral, offering no further explanation or embellishment.
“Hoo…” Lucian let out a soft sound of interest before speaking again, his expression relaxed as ever. “What did he want?” he asked calmly, then added with a grin, “Don’t tell me he called you aside to confess his feelings to you.”
Lucian’s words carried a teasing lilt, but beneath that playful jab lay a thread of genuine curiosity. After all, during the earlier chapters of Might As Well Be OP, the Author had made an excessive number of gay jokes, so many, in fact, that readers had outright accused him of being gay in the comment sections. Even Anthony, as a character, had been labeled gay by readers simply because the Author had chosen not to give him a girlfriend early on in the story.
Lucian himself had once entertained the same suspicion. After all, why make so many jokes along those lines? This wasn’t a BL novel or a manhwa, yet the jokes kept surfacing again and again, much to the confusion of many readers.
Aaaninja turned toward Lucian and stared at him strangely for a brief moment, his rainbow-colored, clock-like eyes narrowing just slightly. Then he shook his head as he spoke.
“He possesses the Time affinity,” Aaaninja said calmly. “He hit a wall for a few centuries, so he needed my help.”
Hearing his answer, everyone present nodded in understanding. Hitting walls during one’s progress was normal, it was practically expected. It was one of the primary reasons the Galaxy bestowed such outrageous lifespans upon its inhabitants. Advancement was never easy, and stagnation was often measured in decades, centuries, and even millennia.
Even Aaaninja himself had once hit a wall. That very stagnation had been the reason Zachary convinced him to participate in the Starborn Tournament, a decision that ultimately led to his True Enlightenment.
“Damn…” Lucian muttered under his breath.
“What is it this time?” Aaaninja asked, already bracing himself, convinced Lucian was about to make yet another inappropriate joke.
“I’m just thinking,” Lucian replied thoughtfully, his usual smile fading slightly, “if I ever hit a wall in my progress and remained stagnant for centuries… I might just commit suicide.”
At his words, everyone paused. The atmosphere grew strangely quiet before several of them nodded in agreement. While hitting walls was normal, remaining stuck for centuries was a concept foreign to them. The oldest among those present was barely over three centuries old, such an extended stagnation was almost unimaginable.
“Although the Dragon hit a wall for centuries,” Aaaninja explained further, “it’s only with his Time magic. His progress in space magic and his other abilities can also be described as… snail-like.”
“What’s the longest wall you’ve ever faced before breaking through it?” Aura Nova asked suddenly. Her blue eyes shifted toward Vega, who floated silently to the side, arms crossed.
Vega shrugged her shoulders casually. “I’ve never hit a wall in my entire life,” she stated plainly.
Hearing her response, Aura Nova’s gaze shifted toward Kingsley. Though she didn’t speak, the question was clear. Kingsley hesitated, unsure of how to answer. Should he count the period between his failed awakening to the moment the universe finally blessed him with power as a wall? After acquiring his absurd talent, he had never faced stagnation again.
After a brief moment of thought, he replied honestly, “Same. I’ve never faced one.”
Aura Nova then turned her gaze toward Anthony, silently posing the same question.
Anthony simply smiled. “Do you even need to ask?” he replied, his voice dripping with confidence, but not arrogance, pride, or conceit.
“My apologies,” Aura Nova teased, shaking her head lightly.
“No need to look over here,” Lucian spoke up before Aura Nova could even address him. “I’ve never encountered a wall or barrier either,” he said proudly.
And his pride was justified. Lucian’s copy ability was so outrageously broken that he didn’t even need to train any of his abilities. The stronger he became, every copied skill, technique, and power automatically rose in proficiency to an insane degree.
The only training Lucian ever truly needed was cultivation, and traveling from planet to planet in search of new abilities to copy. If it were possible to copy cultivation ranks directly, Lucian wouldn’t hesitate for even a second.
“For me, it happened once,” Aaaninja said calmly, his expression composed. “And it lasted two weeks.”
Despite everyone else claiming they had never encountered a wall, Aaaninja felt no need to lie just to match them. His self-esteem and confidence weren’t so fragile that he needed to fabricate achievements. After all, out of everyone present, only Anthony had ever truly defeated him.
“What about you?” Vega asked, turning toward Aura Nova.
Aura Nova’s blue eyes shifted as she replied confidently, “None. My ridiculous abilities make such things impossible.”
‘I wonder if her Omniedit ability can actually overpower Quantum Manipulation,’ Anthony mused silently. By now, his control over Quantum Manipulation had reached an absurd, almost terrifying level.
“So… did you help him?” Kingsley asked, drawing everyone’s attention back to Aaaninja.
“There was no reason to deny his request,” Aaaninja replied calmly.
“Did you ask for anything in return?” Anthony questioned.
Aaaninja shook his head. “I didn’t receive anything. Helping him doesn’t make me lose anything.”
“I don’t know why people talk like that,” Lucian joked, shaking his head. “As though refusing to help the Dragon would somehow make you lose something.”
Anthony laughed lightly. “That’s true, but it doesn’t really matter.”
“Would you like to exchange knowledge, then?” Aura Nova asked, her gaze fixed on Aaaninja. She was certain he possessed an immense amount of information, knowledge from his Celestial planet, and knowledge forcibly taken from countless others.
Aura Nova simply wanted an exchange. Though the Dusk Planet she originated from was weak, her Omniedit ability allowed her to read, understand, and perfect information behind nearly everything she encountered. The Tears in reality she had sealed hours ago were proof of that.
At this moment, almost no one possessed more knowledge about such phenomena than her.
Aaaninja stared at her briefly, then shook his head. “I don’t think I need any information,” he said calmly. “Unless you possess higher control over Time than I do.”
Aura Nova nodded and didn’t pursue the trade further. Although she could manipulate Time using Omniedit, she wasn’t certain whether she could truly bend and command it beyond Aaaninja’s level… but she would find out soon.
