Chapter 786: Comforting

Within the Divine Realm, Anthony could be seen sitting cross-legged on the floor of his training chamber, his eyes closed in serene stillness. For a long moment, silence dominated the vast room until his eyelids fluttered open, revealing the calm yet sharp gleam of his sky-blue eyes. A faint smile curved upon his lips as he exhaled softly. His system had just notified him that only an hour remained before his self-imposed time limit within the Divine Realm expired.

Rising from the floor with fluid ease, Anthony made his way toward the adjoining bath chamber. He hadn’t bathed in six months, relying solely on mana manipulation to cleanse his body during his intense training. But now, he wished to feel the sensation of real water again, to remind himself of something simple, something human.

The water cascaded over him, running down his face and back, washing away the fatigue and strain of endless training. The cool liquid soothed his mind, calming both his nerves and his overworked body, which had been pushed to its utmost limit. Minutes later, he stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, using a smaller one to dry his damp, snow-white hair.

After dressing, Anthony left the building, deciding to take a quiet stroll through the Divine Realm. He desired a brief moment of peace, to ease his mind and settle the turbulence that came after long isolation. He hadn’t truly spoken to anyone in centuries, except for Vega, with whom he’d exchanged only a few conversations during this time.

‘Come to think of it, I still don’t know how vast the Divine Realm truly is, despite coming here countless times,’ Anthony mused as he walked leisurely, the wind brushing against his skin in waves of soothing calmness and refreshing tranquility.

His steps suddenly halted as his Sense Dome picked up a familiar presence, Vega. She had just emerged from her own training chamber. A soft smile appeared on his face. Just as he had made tremendous progress, she too had evolved greatly. Although Vega had not yet reached the Apexus Mana Rank, her combat prowess had become formidable, her battle power easily rivaling those far above her level.

With a thought, Anthony vanished, ending his peaceful walk the instant his girlfriend’s aura came into range.

Vega’s Eyes of the Universe immediately caught the subtle ripple of space nearby, and she turned her head towards the direction of the distortion. There, perched casually on a tree branch, was Anthony, legs crossed, watching her with that familiar, teasing smile.

“You seem to grow more mesmerizing every time I see you. Is it because you’ve gotten stronger again?” Anthony asked, his voice carrying that effortless mix of charm and calm confidence.

Vega’s lips curved into a knowing smirk. “And every time I see you, you seem to become more dangerous,” she replied smoothly. Her tone was playful, yet her Eyes of the Universe revealed the truth, this man before her was no longer merely human; he was a beast disguising himself as one.

“What can I say? How else can I protect my woman if I don’t have the strength to back it up?” Anthony teased lightly, his eyes never leaving hers.

“I’m guessing you’re the woman in this scenario,” Vega countered wittily as her figure flickered, materializing beside him on the same branch.

A comforting silence settled between them. Though they hadn’t seen each other in what felt like centuries, their bond hadn’t faded. Their love had transcended both time and distance, remaining unshaken even by the distortions of time dilation within the Divine Realm.

“How have you been?” Anthony asked after a long pause, his tone soft yet genuine.

Vega took a moment before answering. “I’m fine,” she said finally. “It’s about time we return to the real world.”

Anthony nodded slightly. “That’s true. We’ll be leaving in a few minutes… unless you’d like to go now?” he asked, glancing at her with a gentle smile.

“Is there anything else you wish to do here?” Vega asked in return, raising an eyebrow with mild curiosity.

Anthony thought for a moment, then shook his head. “No,” he said simply. “Let’s leave.”

He reached out and took her hand. In the next instant, their surroundings shifted, the ethereal glow of the Divine Realm faded, replaced by the familiar atmosphere of Anthony’s chamber.

“Well,” Anthony said with a small, nostalgic smile, “this feels strangely comforting.”

Vega smiled in agreement. “Understandable. Neither of us has ever trained for such a long stretch of time,” she said, her tone carrying a mix of amusement and relief.

Anthony’s eyes shifted toward his bed, and with a faint grin, he walked toward it before sitting down. “So,” he said playfully, “how about some light bed exercise?” His smile widened, mischief gleaming in his gaze.

Vega raised a brow, her lips curving into her own playful smile. “Aren’t you going to greet your mother first?” she replied teasingly.

Before Anthony could respond, a knock echoed through the room, one he had already anticipated long before it came. His Sense Dome had picked up the approaching presence miles away.

“You may come in, Warlord Raelith,” Anthony said calmly, his tone composed, his posture relaxed.

The door creaked open, and Warlord Raelith stepped inside. His deep blue eyes shifted from Anthony to Vega, uncertainty flickering across his face. He hesitated briefly, unsure how to address the two individuals before him.

He had expected Anthony to ascend to the rank of Supreme Monarch, yet news had reached him that Anthony had declined the position. Officially, Anthony was still recorded as a Major in the army, but everyone knew that was merely a technicality. His power had long since surpassed such a rank.

As for Vega, Raelith was well aware of her connection to Anthony. Before her disappearance months ago, he had seen her often in the company of the Supreme Monarch, laughing, conversing, and even exchanging discussions about high-level magic. Her aura now was far stronger than before.

For a brief moment, Raelith stood there in silence, conflicted between formality and respect. Then, with a subtle nod to himself, he decided to speak, knowing that his thoughts or hesitation would change nothing.
