Chapter 767: News of Baby

It was the same old in Irio—gray cloudy skies with a hint of rain—and currently, Karma was driving back home.

With one hand on the wheel and another grabbing the stick, he navigated through the familiar streets.

He happened to go past Karuza High, and today’s classes had ended many hours ago, but there were still students roaming about.

Mostly martial arts club members, as they were training for upcoming nationals that were weeks away.

Coach Jin was whipping them into shape.

Karuza High were two-time reigning champions of the nationals, and they had plenty of pressure to make it a three-peat.

There were worries about whether they were good enough without Julian and Kiernan.

‘Maybe I should go say hi.’

Karma parked at the side of the road, stepped out of the car, and slowly approached the yard, where the martial arts club members were running laps.

“Hey, coach.”

Hearing the voice, Coach Jin turned to see who it was and looked pleasantly surprised to see Karma.

“Karma, how has it been?”

Coach Jin shook his hand firmly.

“Same old. Happened to be driving past, and came to say hello.”

Karma said.

“Your presence is always welcome. Have you heard about Kiernan? How has that rascal been doing? I heard that he opened his very own dojo.”

Coach Jin said with a smile.

Those of Kiernan’s age would still be in school, but he had matured quickly and had already become master!

Being master of any martial arts style was extremely high status in the martial arts circle.

“I have messaged him every now and then. It does sound like he is extremely busy with all the things going on right now.”

Karma said.

“…Yep. What happened with Julian is truly a tragedy. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard about him trying to assassinate the Fleet Admiral of the Navy.”

Coach Jin said with a sigh.

When they all heard about that news, there were mixed reactions, as those who knew him couldn’t believe he would be capable of doing something so horrible.

“Yeah…”

Karma was more surprised than anyone else, and he couldn’t believe that he was living with someone like that just recently.

But he believed there must be something else there that the news didn’t tell them.

In that moment, the exhausted martial arts club members finished their run and could barely stand on their feet.

“Everyone! This is Karma Hunter! He is Kiernan’s father, so I want all of you to show him the same kind of respect you would show me!”

Coach Jin said with his hands on his hips.

The students looked surprised and respectfully bowed to Karma after finding out he was legendary Kiernan’s father.

Kiernan was more than a legend in Karuza High—he was a deity—he stopped Animal Kingdom’s invasion with his own strength and talent!

He made Karuza High, from one of the weakest schools, into a powerhouse that everyone respected.

And he rose to the top of his generation and was now the most famous member of the new generation.

There were even talks about building a statue of Kiernan in his honor, and the city was planning to rename a street after him.

Cloudy Street, where Karma and Kiernan’s home was, was going to be renamed Kiernan Lane.

“I should be getting going. I don’t want to disturb your training.”

Karma said his farewell, and entered his car, but then his phone vibrated in his pocket.

It felt strangely coincidental, as when he retrieved his phone, he noticed that he was getting a phone call from his son!

With a surprised smile, he answered.

“Son, how’s it going?”

Karma said.

Kiernan responded, and they had normal father-and-son talk for a moment, but then he realized that his son’s tone turned slightly more serious.

He wondered if something bad had happened.

Instead, what he told him made his eyes round up in surprise, and his breath got stuck in his throat.

His hand shook, but then he gathered his thoughts and smiled.

“I see. Congratulations, my son. Maybe it is time to take another step with Aoi? I know you two wanted to wait, but now with a baby coming, I think it is time to walk down the aisle.”

Karma said.

Kiernan said something to him, and Karma just listened and kept nodding.

“I understand. Have you talked to your mother yet? Oh… Okay, then I shouldn’t keep you waiting.”

Karma said.

With that, the phone call ended, and Karma sat silently in the car before he started chuckling, and he turned the car back on.

“He is not a child anymore. I am becoming a grandfather…”

This was not what he expected to hear today, but he was happy nonetheless and started driving back home.

…

Nightingale, Abracadabra Castle.

“…Saying that won’t make me any less angry!”

Bella said on the phone with an angry-sounding voice, but inside, she was extremely happy and could barely contain herself.

“Alright… Okay, but we will have a proper talk later about what happened in the Downed Prison, my son!”

Bella said.

The call ended shortly after, and Bella looked at the phone silently before bursting into a smile, and she started spinning around in circles out of excitement.

“Grandmother~ Grandmother~ Grandmother~”

She then remembered that she had never met Aoi, and thought it was about time that she was introduced to her.

While Karl-Michael was still acting stubbornly towards Kiernan, it was time to fix the strained relationship.

‘I should invite Kiernan and dear Aoi here. Kiernan is Abracadabra too, so that child will also have Abracadabra blood!’

Bella thought and started thinking about ways she should break the news to his father.

“Is everything alright?”

Nevaeh entered her room after hearing Bella celebrating something, and she saw her sitting with a phone in hand.

“Got some good news?”

She asked her little sister.

“…I did. My son is having a baby.”

Bella said.

“K-Kiernan is?”

Nevaeh’s eyes widened in surprise.

It was actually rare for martial artists to have children at such a young age, as talents of Kiernan’s caliber were just way too obsessed with getting stronger.

They usually didn’t want to have children, as it was a distraction.

“What are you going to do?”

Nevaeh asked.

“…They are about to get married, so I thought about having their marriage here, in the castle. I want our families to get closer.”

Bella said.

“…Kiernan won’t want to get married in a place where his father doesn’t have entry. Does our father permit him to come here?”

Nevaeh asked curiously.

“…I don’t know, but I will make him drop that useless anger.”
