Chapter 765: A Great Nuisance

A van was parked in front of Martial Redemption Dojo, its engine idling loudly.

“…Do we have everything?”

Kiernan asked, glancing around at the group of students gathered inside the van, and they checked their stuff one more time before nodding.

Today, they were starting to head to Real Rokyo in the van, and it was about a one-day-long road trip.

“Good luck, everyone.”

The rest of the students, who were going to stay behind, wished them luck and watched as Kiernan slid the van door shut.

Aoi waved her hand from the passenger’s seat and then noticed that Jock wasn’t waving them goodbye like others.

He was over by the corner, punching the sand, and looked completely absorbed in his own little world.

In that moment, Kiernan climbed to the driver’s seat, looked at Renette with a knowing look, and then drove off.

He told Renette to keep an eye on the place, as they had made some enemies, and some foolish ones might try something while they were gone.

However, with Renette here, they better bring an army if they want to try anything.

After the van drove off, the students returned back to training, and they felt quite a bit lonelier than before.

It felt weird to have all of them gone now, especially for the children of the forest, as Alpha and Omicron had never left them behind before.

It felt like a big part of their identity was now gone.

“Huff!”

Jock punched the sand, and his right arm slightly ached, as it had gotten broken a few days ago during the alleyway fight.

Without letting Kiernan know, he went and purchased some weak healing medicine, which wasn’t enough to heal all the broken bones, but it was the best he could afford.

Jock was still able to handle all the pain.

“You are broken. Is everything alright?”

In that moment, Renette approached him with a smile on her pretty face, and she quite surprised Jock.

He looked at her, whom he had never talked with before, and frowned.

“Broken? What do you mean?”

“I mean, your arm is broken, and it looks like your skull is also fractured. How are you still standing?”

Renette asked in curiosity.

“…I am fine.”

Jock said, and turned back to the sand cauldron.

“…Your mind might not feel pain, but it doesn’t mean that your body doesn’t. Your mind and body seem to be disconnected.

“A dangerous combo.

“If you leave yourself untreated, I am afraid to say that your martial arts career will be rather short.”

Renette said.

“I am fine, really.”

Jock said with a frustrated sigh.

He didn’t like that Renette was being so nosy, as he just wanted her to leave him alone.

“Take this.”

Renette plucked her hair and tried giving it to Jock, but he avoided it at all costs.

“Why would I want your hair?”

Jock asked with a frown.

“It will heal you.”

Renette said with a mysterious smile.

Immortal’s body had healing capabilities that rivalled the best medicine, and that’s why, while she was stuck in the Downed Prison, the guards often plucked her hair and took some of her blood to sell on the black market.

It sold very well.

“Heal you? How in the world would your hair heal me? Put that thing away, and leave me alone, please.”

Jock shrugged her off, but then, Renette forcefully opened his mouth and stuffed her entire hand into his mouth.

His eyes widened in disgust, and then, Renette let go of the hair and let it drop deep into Jock’s throat.

She then pulled her hand out of his mouth, and he wheezed in disgust and started coughing heavily.

“Cough! Cough! What the hell was that?”

He asked angrily.

In that moment, something fantastic happened in his body as his fractured bones and skull healed miraculously.

Somehow, he was even completely rejuvenated, and his bloody knuckles were no longer bleeding.

“W-What…”

Jock felt light like a feather and thought that he was floating among the clouds. It felt surprisingly awesome.

“Told you~”

Renette winked playfully and headed inside to make a cup of tea for herself.

‘…Who is she?’

Jock wondered, and then he turned back to the sand cauldron and resumed his training, as he couldn’t waste any time.

He wanted to reach High Stage Martial Recruit before Kiernan and others returned from their trip.

He believed he could do it.

In that moment, when he was staring through his glasses, his vision suddenly turned strangely foggy.

Jock stopped punching, squinted his eyes, and took off his glasses only to notice that his eyesight was now better without glasses.

‘That hair… also improved my eyesight?’

He thought in amazement, and then he smiled and pocketed the glasses, as he had no need for them anymore.

Jock swiped his hair back, and there was a little bit of handsomeness peeking through the acne on his face.

The acne was also slowly disappearing.

“Heh!”

Jock smiled, punched the sand in the cauldron, and sank his fist into it.

…

The van roamed down the street of Montrael, as they hadn’t quite arrived at the highway just yet, and the windows were open to let the fresh air in.

It was quite hot weather, so they didn’t want to close them.

Kiernan turned the wheel casually and made a left turn.

Funnily enough, this was his first time driving a vehicle in this world, and it was exactly the same as back on Earth.

It was pretty certain that it must’ve been the reincarnator that helped this world to develop cars, or it was a rather good coincidence.

Kiernan didn’t actually have a driver’s license, but he got special permission from the government to operate the car.

“…Do you like traveling, Kiernan?”

Aoi asked.

“I guess. I travel more than I stay in one place.”

Kiernan replied.

“…I’d like to travel with our child, around the world, showing our child everything there is to see.”

Aoi said with a smile and rubbed her stomach fondly.

“One day, we can do that. I’d like to also visit the ever-famous Elf Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.”

Kiernan said.

“Hehe, I don’t think you will be very famous in Animal Kingdom. I think they are calling you a different name over there.”

Aoi said with a giggle.

“Oh? And what name is that?”

Kiernan asked curiously.

“…A Great Nuisance.”
