Answer dropped on one knee, a rough exhausted breath escaping his lips, and his sword lazily lay beside him.
He wiped the blood off his lips, lifted his gaze at Kiernan, and chuckled.
“Your martial arts skill already makes you way stronger than a traditional Low Stage Martial King. You can even challenge High Stage Martial Kings, which is a feat that not many can do.”
With sword in hand, he stood back up and pointed it at Kiernan.
“Your existence alone is a threat to the reality of the world. That’s what you reincarnators are. Dangerous bunch.”
“You know that I am a reincarnator?”
Kiernan asked.
“Well, of course. I, and this realm, am only the creation of the system. Nothing here is real.”
Answer said.
“…You said it like you have met previous reincarnators. How many?”
Kiernan asked.
“There have been a few dozen reincarnators in the entire universe. That’s not many when you remember there are only about twenty or so realms in existence.
“In the entire existence of life, there have been, what, a quadrillion people that have existed? Maybe quintillion? Maybe sextillion? Septillion? Octillion? Nonillion? Decillion?
“So many people that you can’t even fathom, and only a few dozen reincarnators have ever been gifted with rebirth.
“You’re a special case, as you’re what people of the Higher Realm are calling… The Great Robber.”
Answer said with a chuckle.
“The Great Robber?”
Kiernan asked.
“…Oh, yes. That chance at reincarnation didn’t belong to you. You had a first-class ticket to Hell, and yet, you managed to best Death Himself, and take the reincarnation for yourself.
“I am a really big fan of you. Death is a feared individual even in the Higher Realm, as He is the one that reaps all souls and brings them to their final resting place.
“Death will also visit those beings of the Higher Realm one day, when they reach the end of their life, and even they will fear His arrival.
“Yet, you, mere human from the weakest realm, made a fool of Death. No one has made Death look like a fool before. Oh boy, I fear what He will do when your life at your rebirth ends.”
Answer said with a cold breath.
“…I guess I just need to make sure that I never die then. How do those beings of the Higher Realm even die? If we can even acquire immortality, how can’t they?”
“The concept of immortality is very much exaggerated. There is always the end somewhere. You humans just cannot fathom living that long until that ‘immortality’ runs out.
“Those powerful beings of the Higher Realm have lived longer than this world and the Earth Realm have existed combined!”
Answer said.
“…So one day, I will end back in the afterlife, at the doorstep of Death.”
Kiernan said.
“You will. You may hope that Death forgets, but he has lived even longer than those beings of the Higher Realm. He was there when first light shone and when it first turned dark.
“And you are the first one to beat him. He will never forget you. It doesn’t matter how long you live; Death will always remember you.
“You are a legend in Hell, you know. The Heavens also consider you as sort of a legend, but they despise you.
“Only the purest of hearts should get reincarnation. It should be the ultimate gift of good. You showed every scumbag of Hell that you do not need goodness; all you need is strength.
“Thus, the scumbag of Hell has been more rebellious than ever. They used to fear Death and the eternal damnation that comes from crossing him.
“But more and more people have tried to steal reincarnation for themselves.”
Answer clicked his tongue.
Kiernan stayed silent, staring at the forest floor with a deep frown on his face, and just sucking up all the information like a sponge.
He hadn’t quite realized just how big of an impact he had made over in the afterlife.

Kiernan asked.
“Three.”
Answer said.
“…Is Mercedes Rosburg one of them?”

Answer said with a laugh.

Kiernan hurriedly asked.

In that same moment, the world around him cracked and shattered.

Answer’s voice faded into the distance.
