Martial Arts Worlds - Chapter 636
Chapter 636: Missing Person
Sixth Volume – Missing Person.
…
“It has been six months since the sudden disappearance of the hero of humanity…”
“…The search for him has been long and endless, but hope for actually finding him has dwindled, as there hasn’t been a trace of him.”
“…Humans have been accusing Animal Kingdom of abduction, and perhaps, murder, but no proof has been found.”
“…Animal Kingdom remains insistent that they have no part in Kiernan Hunter’s disappearance.”
The television played in a house while people were gathered in the living room, anxiously looking out of the windows.
Helicopters flew overhead. Police cars lined the street, and sirens wailed in the distance.
“They’ve even extended their search over here. Pretty sure they’ve searched all of New Rakuya by now to no avail.”
A worried-sounding young man said.
“…Kiernan Hunter must be the only person in the world that gets this kind of treatment from the government. Sure, he did great in the tournament, but this is pretty insane.”
Father of the family said.
“It includes more parties than simply Kiernan Hunter. If Animal Kingdom really had something to do with his disappearance, there will be war.”
Mother said.
“I personally don’t think that he is anywhere in New Rakuya anymore. They would’ve found him already if he were.”
A young woman said.
“Except there are no records of him ever taking a ship or plane out of the ship. After Karuza High’s successful campaign over in the nationals, where they acquired their second championship, Kiernan went and graduated from the school.
“He was seen in Irio for a couple of days after the graduation, but after that, he simply vanished like a fart in the wind.”
“Isn’t he already dead?”
“What a shame… He really had the potential to be great.”
…
Somewhere in the World Seas.
The dragon-headed ship smashed through the waves like a knife and ventured yet deeper into the unknown depths.
At the front of the ship, Karl-Michael stood still like a proud lion with his navy coat flapping behind him in the wind.
“…Ah!”
Bella covered her bleeding eye and gritted her teeth hatefully while sitting on the ship’s railing.
“Bella, you should stop doing that. You’ve tried to find Kiernan using your Mystery Eye since his disappearance, and you’ve failed every single time.
“You will only attract those otherworldly beings.”
Karl-Michael sighed at the sight of his daughter.
With him being part of the navy, he was also ordered by Human Government to start looking for Kiernan since they knew of his daughter’s relationship with him.
The navy couldn’t just send all their ships to find him, as the World Seas was a big place, and the pirate activities were getting worse and worse.
Thus, they sent only a few ships, one of them being Karl-Michael’s, and honestly, it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
There was a better chance at finding gates to the heaven than Kiernan somewhere in the World Seas.
“…It only needs to work once, and then we will know where he is.”
Bella said with gritted teeth.
After hearing that her father was going to take part in the searches, she, of course, volunteered to come with him.
She hadn’t been able to sleep or eat ever since her son disappeared. The worst part was that they had no idea where he disappeared off to.
Not knowing what happened to her son was the worst thing in the world.
…
Somewhere in the world, in a dilapidated tavern.
“…”
With a sullen expression and red puffy eyes, Aoi was mindlessly tracing her finger around the edges of her drinking glass.
“You’ve been crying again?”
Karma asked with a tired expression, as if he hadn’t slept well.
“…I’ve just been thinking. That prophecy came true, but I just don’t understand; it also included that we would’ve had a child together.”
Aoi trembled, shed a few tears, and mumbled.
“Where in the world did he go…”
“Kiernan is fine, I just know it.”
Karma said with a serious look.
After graduation, his son, Kiernan, said that he was going on a trip and said he would keep in touch, but after weeks of his departure, there was no word of him.
He’d been sending him texts. Try calling. Everything, to no avail, and he then found out that everyone else also had no way of contacting him.
In the end, he went and reported him as missing, and everything escalated from that point onwards.
A few weeks after that, Aoi came to Irio, and she and Karma started to look for Kiernan by themselves.
They had been trying to find him for close to half a year now.
“…You’ve been able to reach Julian?”
Aoi asked.
“No, he is busy. He has replied to few of my messages, and he hasn’t found any leads either.”
Karma said, took a sip of the tequila, and then put down the cup.
No one wanted to say it aloud, but every day, more people came to the terrifying conclusion that Kiernan Hunter, the hero of humanity, the best talent of this generation, was indeed dead.
…
Somewhere in the Dark Countries.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
“Argh!”
People ran through the streets, screaming in terror. The buildings were in flames. The battle raged like a never-ending wildfire.
With a saber sword in hand, Imperius stomped his foot on the ground and swung it towards the masses with unparalleled ferocity.
“Evil Sovereignty!”
The sword slash smashed into the people. They got slashed into pieces. The flaming buildings crumbled and fell to the ground in a chaotic symphony of destruction.
It was a bloodbath.
Corpses after corpses were strewn across one of the cities of the Dark Countries, and it looked like the aftermath of a war zone.
Bang!
In that moment, a bullet whizzed through the air, and when it landed on the ground where people were fleeing to, a massive explosion that engulfed the entire city occurred.
KA-BOOOOOOOOOM!
Witnessing the destruction, Imperius just whistled and turned around to see Xerxus standing on top of burning rubble with a long-barreled revolver in hand.
“No luck?”
Imperius asked.
“Kiernan is not here. This is the world’s biggest slave market, and if he had been abducted and sold into slavery, there should’ve been records of him being here.
“I found nothing.”
Xerxus said.
“That means we are back in square one. Where the hell did that brat disappear off to?”
Imperius asked with a click of his tongue.
