Magus Supremacy - Chapter 740
Capítulo 740: A Summon?
CHAPTER 740
The next day arrived smoothly.
The trio woke up feeling quite refreshed after letting out their burdens the previous night.
The air felt cool and refreshing after the heavy downpour that had soaked the land hours earlier.
Clarice quickly got to work cooking the day’s meal while Yami helped wherever he could, occasionally bickering with Noir as he tried to elicit a reaction from the wolf.
Either the familiar snarled in irritation or threatened to burn the human alive outright.
Grey occasionally chuckled as he watched the mild liveliness unfold before him, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Yet, a thought still lingered heavily in his mind.
‘I need to help Yami sir rebuild his home, which was destroyed because of me. For that, I would need to head back to the Noxarian faction and get my share of the money from the pill business.’
He exhaled quietly.
‘But first, I need to eat. I’m starving.’
“Breakfast is ready!” Clarice announced cheerfully as she dished out everyone’s meal, including Noir’s portion.
Surprisingly, the wolf could actually eat human food as he rapidly devoured the meal like the beast he was, barely pausing between bites.
Meanwhile, the humans calmly sat on the bare ground, slowly nibbling their food in comfortable silence.
That silence lasted until Yami spoke up.
“I was curious. Your world, how different is it from this place?”
Grey casually rolled his shoulders as he scooped rice into his mouth.
“Aside from the difference in powers, there’s basically nothing else. We both use the same currency, and we all look the same.”
“Hmph.”
Yami continued eating while Clarice, who had been holding back, finally asked the question weighing on her mind.
“How do you actually plan on rescuing Finral from the clutches of the academy? And when?”
She paused for a moment before adding carefully,
“I know you are strong, but so are the leaders of the Aetherian faction. You can’t do it alone.”
Grey calmly picked up his cup filled with water and sipped it without a hint of unease.
“I’m not alone. I have allies both inside the academy and outside.”
After a brief pause, he added,
“I will be attacking in two months. During the inter faction tournament.”
Yami froze, spoon still in hand as he momentarily forgot to chew.
“I… inter faction tournament? That’s…”
“Crazy?” Grey cut in, then chuckled dryly.
“I’ve been known to do crazy things from my world to here, so it’s not a big deal. And like I said, I have allies. Powerful ones at that. I don’t know if it will work, but I can at least try.”
He stood up after finishing his meal and walked aside to clean the dishes.
A short while later, he returned.
“Speaking of allies, I need to see them. I’ll be back later in the evening.”
He paused, thinking for a few moments before adding,
“Hopefully.”
With that, he waved his hand. A portal yawned open, and he stepped through it, leaving the couple staring blankly behind him.
Yami let out a casual chuckle.
“… He is crazy.”

In front of Ash’s warehouse-like structure, an ashen portal opened as Grey stepped through calmly, his expression unnervingly composed.
Walking through the base, he saw the alchemist’s assistants hurrying to complete orders, sweat on their brows as the alchemist barked instructions at them relentlessly.
He suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, causing him to twirl around and stare at the Supreme Magus, who was gazing at him calmly.
“S… Supreme Magus! You’re back.”
Grey’s lips parted into a faint smile.
“Yeah.” He walked past him and began ascending the stairs. “Kindly ask Alba to come over.”

Several minutes later, Grey could be seen in his room, chilling casually when the door opened to reveal Alba, Killian, and Dame walking in together.
Seeing the trio, he lifted an eyebrow in confusion.
“… I can recall I only asked for Alba.”
Dame smiled weakly, his eyes moist as he stepped forward.
“Su… Supreme Magus. I’m… I’m sorry for lashing out at you earlier.
Th… thank you so much for saving my sister, even though you didn’t mean to. Thank you so much. I’m far more indebted to you than I can express. Thank you, truly.”
Grey was taken aback by the sudden outburst of emotion from the warrior standing before him.
For a brief second, he did not know how to respond. Then, he beamed lightly.
“It wasn’t much of a problem. I guess I was just cautious for no reason.”
“Supreme…” Alba stepped forward, but Grey tilted his head toward them.
“Uhm… you all can just call me Grey. No need for any fancy titles since you’ve all seen my face already.”
Alba paused, blinking rapidly at the mage before smiling warmly.
“Alright, Grey.”
Grey nodded before turning toward Dame, who immediately opened his mouth to speak again.
“I swear, if it’s another ‘thank you’, I will make sure the earth beneath your feet pricks you.”
Dame chuckled softly and shook his head.
His sleeves wiped his face clean as his expression suddenly turned serious.
“It’s something else.”
Grey lifted an eyebrow in surprise.
“What’s that?”
Dame took a deep breath, his hands curling tightly at his sides before he exhaled.
“… It’s my father. He demands your presence as soon as I got in contact with you.”
Grey stiffened slightly as his brows furrowed.
“The… the head of the Demonic clan wants to see me? For what reason?”
Dame cocked his shoulders lightly.
“You know I’ve been telling you that he has wanted a meeting with you for a while now. I kept dodging him repeatedly. But now, he has ordered me to bring you to him the moment I see you.”
Grey’s brows knitted as he sank into deep thought.
‘… The leader of one of the two biggest clans in this faction wants to see me? For what reason? On the other hand, the Behemoth clan wants me eliminated, yet the Demonic clan wants an audience? Should I go, or should I refuse?’
“I think you should honour this invitation.”
Killian cut through his thoughts as the swords at his waist clattered softly. “Borfan doesn’t take no for an answer.”
Grey shrugged lightly, letting out a quiet sigh.
“I’m less busy at the moment, so I guess I can go.”
Alba smiled as she stepped forward.
“The Supreme Magus can’t go without his signature attire…”
She said while presenting a clean purple robe to Grey.
The mage snatched it up and donned it immediately.
He smoothed the fabric with his hands until his fingers brushed against a rough patch on the left side of his chest.
Glancing down, he noticed two stitched initials.
‘SM.’
He grinned faintly and gave Alba a nod of approval.
“I appreciate it.”
Dame heaved a sigh of relief.
“Shall we leave now?”
Grey nodded calmly.
“Mm.”
‘… Let’s see what the leader of the Demonic clan wants with me.’
Massage chair anyone?
