Magus Supremacy - Chapter 724
Chapter 724: Time To Steal Power
CHAPTER 724
Robed man did not know how to react.
His mouth unconsciously hung wide open as he stared at Frowny’s split body, shock colliding with disbelief, confusion piling upon confusion.
“H…how? But…but he is a stage 6 warrior and you are just a stage 4 warrior even with magic so how? He…he told me…”
Robed man kept stuttering at intervals, his voice breaking apart under terror mixed with disbelief as his eyes refused to leave the corpse.
“He…he said that his Ki barrier is strong enough to withstand even a strike at half the strength of a stage 8 warrior. So how…how did you bypass it and kill him? I’m…I’m…”
“Confused?” Grey completed calmly, a dry chuckle reverberating through the open air.
Robed man finally lifted his gaze from Frowny’s lifeless remains toward the warrior mage, who flicked his wrists subtly, causing the lightning swords within his grip to dissolve into sparks before vanishing completely.
“Let me explain.”
A step.
Another stride.
Then one more.
Grey halted roughly two metres away from the shaken mage, the dark cave looming three metres behind him like a silent witness.
He tilted his head slightly, eyes drifting toward Frowny’s severed form.
“You fools do not know me, do you? Ha!” Another amused laugh escaped his lips.
“I learn. I grow. I adapt with every battle, and sometimes, I even evolve mid combat.”
Robed man raised a trembling brow, confusion twisting his features tighter.
Grey continued without pause.
“Yes. I am a stage 4 warrior and a six star mage. Individually, that is correct. But when both paths merge, I can surpass even a stage 8 warrior temporarily.”
He lifted a finger slightly as if lecturing.
“That pitiful barrier of his was indeed formed from Ki, but it still occupied space. Unfortunately for him, I possess abilities that directly interfere with space itself.”
Grey paused, watching the robed man absorb every syllable like a desperate student clinging to knowledge.
“Whenever I sent lightning, wind, or elemental attacks, he blocked them confidently. His perception was sharp, and simple lightning arrows would never break through no matter how much I spammed them.”
His eyes narrowed slightly.
“I needed him gone quickly. He was the true threat between you both. That was when I decided to use my strongest skill, Dimensional Slash, born from my spatial magic, and fuse it with a lightning arc.”
Grey’s lips curled upward into a dangerous smile.
“Once fused, it appeared no different from an ordinary elemental strike. That is why I launched the earlier slash, if you remember.”
Robed man frowned deeply, his thoughts racing backward until realization struck.
That moment.
The punch.
The counterattack.
Grey nodded slowly.
“Yes. That attack was nothing more than bait. I knew he would raise his barrier. So when you both tried cornering me and I blinked away, I released the true strike. A spatial cut capable of slicing space and dimensions apart.”
His gaze drifted once more toward the corpse.
“He blocked it arrogantly, just as I predicted. His barrier split instantly…”
Grey’s grin widened.
“…and so did his fragile body. No amount of Ki coating could save him. Dimensional Slash ignores armor, barriers, and physical defenses entirely.”
Silence swallowed the battlefield.
Only the whisper of wind brushing against distant trees remained, dust drifting lazily through the air as Grey turned his attention back to the surviving mage.
“I see…”
The Supreme Magus tilted his head slightly, watching as Robed man suddenly jerked his chin upward, fury flashing across his face.
His teeth ground together violently, producing a harsh, grating sound that echoed faintly across the shattered mountaintop.
“As a proud mage of Arondale and a captain of the Midnight Sun Clan, I will not be going down without a fight!”
‘I have ten seconds left before my mana fully depletes.’ Grey thought silently as he watched robed man descend into rage.
The next instant, a sound similar to a gunshot cracked through the air as lightning erupted violently around robed man.
His figure shot forward like a cannonball aimed directly at the warrior mage.
Grey released a tired sigh, his head shaking slowly from side to side.
In a heartbeat, Robed man materialized right before him, palms thrusting forward as a blinding radiance gathered around his hands, humming with destructive intent.
“I’m tired.”
That single word left Grey’s lips as wind, lightning, and Ki surged around his body simultaneously, amplifying his reaction speed to an absurd level.
He pivoted sharply on one foot, the motion fluid and decisive.
The turn slipped him cleanly out of robed man’s line of sight and placed him just a metre to the side.
Without hesitation, the Supreme Magus dug his foot into the ground, the rock beneath instantly obliterated from the force.
His leg rose sideways, lightning and wind coiling around it like living serpents wrapped in crackling energy.
With a deafening crack that echoed across the mountain, Grey whipped his leg outward, smashing it directly into robed man’s left arm and torso.
Blood sprayed violently from the man’s mouth, eyes widening in agony as his body was blasted backward through the cave carved into the mountain.
Stone shattered as his form tore through the structure, rubble collapsing behind him.
His body tumbled across the ground repeatedly, skipping and rolling like a stone thrown across water before finally crashing to a halt.
Grey lowered his foot slowly. Right on cue, energy drained from his body all at once, dizziness washing over him briefly.
A deep frown creased his expression as he forced himself to steady his breathing.
‘Mana is gone. But luckily, I still have enough Ki.’ he mused internally while observing robed man writhing in unbearable pain.
The man’s left arm and side were visibly crushed from the devastating kick, his body twitching uncontrollably against the broken ground.
Footsteps echoed faintly.
Robed man glanced up weakly and saw the Supreme Magus crouching before him, eyes burning with an intense, terrifying fury.
His heart skipped several beats in sheer terror as a loud, panicked yelp escaped his throat without permission.
Grey’s devilish grin spread slowly across his face as he extended both palms outward.
“Time to add your power to mine.”
Check out my new work guys!!!
