Magus Supremacy - Chapter 721
Capítulo 721: Save your breath
CHAPTER 721
The two men dashed toward opposite flanks of Grey, intent on unleashing devastation as the mage stood calmly, observing them close the distance with unwavering confidence.
Swiftly, Frowny shifted, driving a Ki sword thrust toward the warrior mage’s side at full velocity, while the robed man assaulted from the other direction with a crackling lightning blast meant to erase the warrior mage entirely.
“Pathetic.”
Grey scoffed softly, and in the very next instant, the surrounding atmosphere seemed to distort as the mage vanished from sight.
Frowny’s blade pierced nothing but empty space, while the lightning beam detonated midair with a deafening boom, sending violent shockwaves rippling across the mountain peak.
The Supreme Magus reappeared several metres behind the duo, arms relaxed, no counterattack made, a faint smirk tugging at his lips as he regarded them.
Grinding his teeth, Frowny twisted sharply, his boots pulverizing the stone beneath as he spun and exploded forward once more like a launched projectile.
The robed man refused to fall behind, electricity surging across his legs as he sprinted after his ally, his movement resembling a streak of living lightning.
Frowny materialised before the warrior mage within a blink, his Ki sword lunging forth like a spear aimed straight at Grey’s abdomen.
An earth wall surged upward between them, intercepting the strike.
Unfortunately, Grey’s earth affinity faltered, the barrier shattering apart as the blade pressed onward, yet once again, the mage was gone.
“Above!”
The robed man shouted urgently, skidding to a halt as he clapped his hands upward, unleashing more than a dozen lightning arrows toward the sky where Grey now hovered.
Grey merely smirked, expression composed, posture relaxed, showing no concern toward the incoming assault.
“Go.”
As though summoned by his command, fifty lightning arrows manifested instantly, streaking downward and colliding head on with the robed man’s attack.
A violent storm of sparks erupted midair as Grey’s projectiles overwhelmed the opposing force and continued their descent.
Reacting instantly, Ki surged around Frowny’s legs as he bolted forward, positioning himself directly in front of the robed man.
The lightning arrows crashed into his location, yet just as before, they detonated harmlessly around him, repelled by an unseen force that refused to let them touch his body.
Grey raised an eyebrow slightly.
‘Some form of defensive Ki art? Annoying.’
Frowny, as usual, maintained his scowl.
“Keep up.”
He mouthed silently before detonating his footing with a thunderous bang, the ground imploding beneath him as debris scattered outward.
His body rocketed skyward like a released arrow, slicing through the air.
In response, Grey flicked his wrist, releasing spinning wind arrows that spiralled downward toward the ascending warrior.
Undeterred, Frowny tightened his grip on the Ki sword and kicked violently against the air itself, another resounding boom echoing as his velocity increased drastically.
He weaved through the wind arrows effortlessly, eyes burning with ferocity, gaze locked onto Grey as he closed in.
The ones he could not properly evade were swiftly intercepted by his Ki sword, steel meeting energy as sharp clangs echoed repeatedly through the sky.
In the blink of an eye, the distance vanished as he appeared directly before Grey.
The sudden proximity stunned the mage briefly as a brutal downward slash descended toward him with overwhelming velocity.
Gritting his teeth, Grey crossed his arms before his face, Ki surging along his forearms as the strike collided with crushing might.
His bones rattled violently, the sensation akin to being struck by a dull hammer wielded by a raging beast.
A thunderous bang erupted as the air behind the warrior mage fractured visibly.
His body was hurled backward with explosive force, teeth clenched as he watched Frowny pursue relentlessly.
Strangely, the warrior appeared to glide through the sky, repeatedly kicking empty space to gain momentum, each motion accelerating him further as he rapidly closed the gap.
Grey grimaced, preparing a counterattack, when every strand of hair on his body stood on end.
A searing heat surged toward him from behind.
He twisted his head hastily, eyes widening as he spotted over a hundred lightning arrows screaming toward him at terrifying speed.
Frowny’s expression warped into a chilling smirk as he closed to mere inches.
“Let’s see you block this, you cocky brat!”
Grey’s face remained calm, a faint smile still present.
In the next instant, a yawning portal opened behind him and his flying body vanished into its depths.
Frowny’s eyes widened in disbelief.
The lightning arrows that once targeted Grey now rushed straight toward him, unobstructed.
They slammed into his form with violent force, his barrier flaring instantly yet straining under the impact.
His body was blasted several metres away as the arrows detonated against the invisible shield.
“Damn you!”
The robed man, still stationed atop the mountain, scowled deeply.
“I am sorry. Though I bear no fault.” He clicked his tongue irritably.
Frowny turned to bark a response when Grey suddenly materialised beside him midair.
“Save your breath. You will need it.”
Frowny barely opened his mouth before Grey lifted one hand and slammed it downward.
The warrior traced the motion instinctively, eyes widening as three colossal earth pillars spiralled upward like living serpents, twisting violently through the air.
At Grey’s command, they smashed into Frowny before he could react.
Blood burst from his mouth as his body rocketed away like a fired projectile.
In the next blink, he crashed into the mountain with a deafening impact, the entire structure shuddering violently.
Cracks tore across the surface as crevices split open and massive craters formed instantly.
Dust and debris billowed skyward as the world itself seemed to pause, waiting for what would unfold next.
