Magus Supremacy - Chapter 719
Capítulo 719: Missiles of Destruction
CHAPTER 719
“Earth wall, Earth wall, Earth wall!”
Grey began shouting frantically while leaping backward.
His hands moved upward rapidly as he summoned wall after wall in quick succession.
***
Just moments earlier, he had come face to face with a point blank lightning attack from the robed man while Frowny stood nearby wearing that irritating smirk.
He had been stupefied and confused, but more than anything, his instincts screamed danger at him.
In a split second, the wind coiled tightly around his body, aiding his retreat as slabs of earth erupted from the mountain surface.
The lightning beam smashed into the first wall and, as if the stone was nothing more than parchment, tore straight through it.
The barrier crumbled instantly, yet the attack continued forward without losing momentum.
Because of that, Grey kept summoning earth wall after earth wall, his voice echoing across the mountain top as the beam tore through several layers of stone.
Only after the fifth wall did the lightning finally disperse, leaving Grey slightly breathless as fragments of earth rained down around him.
He panted heavily.
A deep scowl settled onto his face, mirroring Frowny’s perpetual expression.
Luckily, the mask still concealed his features. If anyone saw the Supreme Magus looking this shaken, it would be nothing short of humiliating.
“You’re a mage too, huh? That’s shocking.”
Grey clicked his tongue as he straightened his posture.
The robed man did not reply immediately. Instead, his brow furrowed deeply as his gaze sharpened.
‘Lightning, earth, and if I’m not mistaken, wind magic too? A multi elementalist? How is that possible? Someone that young, in this world, and tied to that organisation?’
“Who are you really?” the robed man finally asked. “I don’t mean your ridiculous title. I mean who you truly are.”
Frowny glanced sideways, clearly puzzled.
“Huh?”
Grey did not rush to respond.
His attention shifted inward as shimmering runes hovered within his field of vision.
‘This is bad. I’ve almost run dry.’
His jaw tightened.
‘With this little mana, spatial skills are out of the question. High tier lightning techniques are impossible too.’
A quiet sigh escaped his lips as he shook his head slightly.
‘What a mess.’
Seeing his silence, the robed man’s frown deepened further.
“I’ll ask again. Who are you exactly? How are you even here? And how are you wielding multiple elements?”
Grey exhaled slowly, clearly exhausted.
His pendant glowed faintly.
Both opponents shifted their footing, alert and prepared for an incoming attack.
But nothing happened.
The glow faded, and a small brown pouch appeared in Grey’s palm instead.
Anna had long since lost consciousness due to the violent shockwaves created during the clash.
She lay motionless, her body unnaturally still. If not for the faint aura Grey could still sense, she would have appeared lifeless.
Rummaging through the pouch, he withdrew three pills. One purple, one blue, and one yellow.
The pouch vanished instantly.
‘Honestly, I have to modify this pendant and make it so that I can send these pills into my mouth with a will of my mind. Nobody will be as foolish as these two to stand around while I pull out pills.’
Without hesitation, he tossed all three pills into his mouth and swallowed them whole.
Both Frowny and the robed man raised their brows in unison.
Almost immediately, the effects took hold.
Energy surged violently through Grey’s body.
His mana core refilled at a startling pace, warmth flooding his veins as strength and stamina returned rapidly.
His breathing steadied. His posture straightened.
And for the first time since the fight began, the Supreme Magus smiled beneath the mask.
Though his Dantian was not depleted, it still refilled itself, causing Grey to flex his fingers slowly for a few seconds as unfamiliar warmth circulated through his limbs.
Appraising himself calmly, he checked his mana stats once more, his eyes narrowing slightly at what he saw.
‘This will have to do.’
Frowny shifted his stance, impatience clear on his face.
“Are you deaf or what? Didn’t you hear him? Do you want me to forcefully make you answer?”
Grey merely sighed and dragged his palms down his face, exhaustion briefly flashing through his movements.
“Generic villains and the same cliché dialogues. At least try to sound natural for once.”
A vein seemed to throb at the side of Frowny’s head, his teeth grinding back and forth audibly, but the warrior mage ignored him completely and turned toward Ash instead.
“Take Anna back. She needs medical help immediately.”
Ash froze, stunned and unable to reply for several seconds.
He could not move forward to carry the unconscious woman, and even if he somehow did, how were they supposed to climb down the mountain or reach the town in time before it was too late.
Before he could voice any of those thoughts, Grey waved his hand casually and an ashen portal instantly appeared beneath Ash’s feet, swallowing him whole in the blink of an eye.
The robed man blinked in confusion at the sight, his heart pounding violently as disbelief flooded his expression.
The next second, another portal opened behind Grey, spitting Ash back out.
He stumbled for a moment before steadying himself, eyes wide as he tried to process what had just happened.
“Pick her up,” Grey ordered calmly.
Ash bent down to comply when a loud shout shattered the air.
“No you don’t!” Frowny thundered as Ki coiled tightly around his legs, launching him forward like a fired projectile.
It looked almost like teleportation as he appeared directly beside Grey, ignoring him entirely while reaching out for Ash instead.
“Haven’t paid you back for throwing me off a mountain, have I?”
Rumble! Rumble!
A massive pillar of earth erupted from the ground at full speed, forcing Frowny to spin around and cross his arms into an X shape instinctively.
The pillar smashed into him with crushing force, hurling his body off the mountainside like a discarded ragdoll.
Ash let out a shaky smile as he carefully lifted Anna’s unconscious body into his arms, and a second later, a portal opened directly behind him.
“You will be teleported to wherever Dame is at the moment. I marked him a while back,” Grey said evenly.
With a silent nod of gratitude, Ash turned and walked into the portal, which snapped shut immediately after registering his passage.
Silence reclaimed the mountain as only Grey and the robed man remained, standing several metres apart.
The terrain bore numerous craters from the earlier clash, yet the mountain itself still stood firm, even as the robed man’s composure began to crack visibly.
“You asked who I really am,” Grey said coldly.
“So listen carefully.”
Fire arrows, lightning spears, and wind swords materialised around him in a frightening display, their sharpened tips pointed directly at the robed man.
The moment he noticed the fire element as well, his breath caught.
‘Fi… Five elements? Th… that’s impossible. Unless… Is he…’
The robed man’s eyes widened, his heart hammering violently as he turned fully toward Grey.
“The name is Grey Dawn, and I’m the one and only.”
SNAP!
The projectiles launched forward like instruments of annihilation.
“Supreme Magus.”
