Capítulo 707: Rematch Done and Dusted

CHAPTER 707

‘Why… Why? Why is it so hard to take him down? He wasn’t this powerful the last time we met. It hasn’t even been two months since our previous encounter.

So how can he grow this overpowered in less than two months? How? He is keeping me on my toes. Me. A divine level threat. How?!’

Kira panicked inwardly, her thoughts spiralling wildly as she and Grey clashed midair.

Their movements blurred together, fast enough to distort vision, yet every exchange carried overwhelming destruction that scarred the space around them.

‘And he keeps grinning like a mad man. Ahhh, damn it!’

Her expression twisted with fury as she released a direct beam of lightning straight toward the mage’s face, pouring intent and power into the attack.

Grey merely tilted his head aside once more, allowing the beam to graze a few strands of his hair.

Crackling heat brushed against his skin as the lightning rushed past his face and vanished into the distance.

That grin of his never faded.

However, the attack had only been a distraction.

Kira blinked out of sight and materialised directly behind Grey in an instant.

Her wings crackled violently as arcs of lightning danced across their surface, and with a loud swoosh, dozens of feather shaped attacks launched forward, each one formed of compressed lightning and razor sharp intent.

Grey spun around smoothly, lightning swords raised before his face as he began swatting the incoming attacks aside.

His hands moved in a rapid blur, striking and deflecting each feather that flew toward him like high speed bullets.

As he poured additional mana into the lightning swords, they glowed intensely, shining like twin beacons cutting through the chaos.

His movements grew increasingly erratic, blades clashing again and again with the relentless feather barrage.

Just then, Kira teleported away after releasing several dozen more attacks, reappearing directly behind Grey while his attention remained focused forward.

A faint smirk tugged at her beak as twenty lightning arrows erupted from her wings and streaked toward Grey’s exposed back.

Without turning around, he calmly waved a hand behind him.

Instantly, a portal yawned open in front of the arrows, swallowing the attacks completely.

Before Kira could fully comprehend what had occurred, another portal formed directly behind her, and the very same lightning arrows burst out at frightening speed.

She had no time to react.

The arrows slammed into her back with lethal force, tearing a sharp cry from her throat as pain surged through her body.

The impact hurled her from the sky toward the ground like a falling arrow.

Just before collision, she flapped her wings hard, stabilising herself and landing forcefully yet gracefully in front of the looming mountain that still stood tall despite enduring the duo’s relentless onslaught.

SWOOOSH!

Grey blinked from the air and appeared three metres away from the phoenix, who was now breathing slightly heavier than before.

She was not exhausted, but irritation burned fiercely within her as the grin on the mage’s face refused to disappear.

The Supreme Magus’ robe fluttered gently in the wind as his crimson hair waved freely.

His brown eyes shimmered with a faint, ethereal glow while he stared calmly at the phoenix before him.

Suddenly, the lightning swords in his hands shone brighter for a brief moment before dimming.

In their place, a pair of lightning gauntlets formed around his hands, wrapping snugly around his fingers like warm gloves, electricity humming softly as power gathered once again.

His hands crackled with overwhelming intensity as he stared at the lightning gauntlets wrapped firmly around his fists.

“Did you know?” Grey began calmly, casting the phoenix a brief sideways glance.

“I have the power to shatter your blinking ability, or is it teleportation? But I chose not to.”

Kira stared back at him, her glowing white eyes shining with blinding brilliance.

“And I should believe that lie?”

Grey did not answer immediately. He simply nodded slightly while keeping his gaze fixed on his hands.

He could feel Ki and mana building rapidly within his limbs, merging and converging toward his wrists, surging at an astonishing pace before flowing straight into his knuckles.

His smile never wavered as the wind surged violently around his arms.

The lightning gauntlets crackled with heightened ferocity, and as that happened, the ground beneath his feet began trembling uncontrollably.

It rumbled as though some massive beast was about to tear its way out from beneath the earth.

The air surrounding Grey thinned visibly, distorting as if it were on the verge of shattering apart.

Despite this pressure, his grin widened as he finally lifted his gaze.

His hands shook slightly while a blinding light engulfed his fists completely.

All Kira could see was how the energies condensed around his knuckles, warping the surrounding space and bending the air unnaturally.

This time, the atmosphere was not merely quaking. It was shaking violently, tearing itself apart and splitting visibly.

Even though Grey hovered several inches above the ground, the terrain beneath his body cracked and shattered rapidly, spreading outward in jagged lines.

Around his fists was not just white energy. Blue sparks danced within it, crackling violently.

The way the power wrapped around his hands made it seem as if a new lightning gauntlet had been forged entirely from Ki and mana.

Both forces spiralled together within him, fused into one, then surged outward into his fists, amplifying his strength to an entirely different level.

Kira panicked, her eyes widening at the terrifying sight before her.

‘Wh… what is happening? What is he doing? Why… why am I growing worried…’

She was not even allowed to complete her thoughts.

A quiet whisper from Grey cut straight through her mind.

“KIAN mega blast.”

In an instant, his hands shot upward with explosive speed.

The entire space around his limbs distorted violently, as though a natural disaster had erupted at that very moment.

‘Huh? It cannot reach me from that distance.’

That assumption shattered when Grey’s smirk deepened and his voice followed calmly.

“Folding.”

The three metres of space between the warrior mage and the phoenix vanished instantly.

Grey’s fist appeared directly before Kira as if distance itself had ceased to exist.

If she had hair, every strand would have stood on end.

The sparks surrounding his fist radiated such intense heat that it felt like a miniature inferno roaring toward her.

“Wind magic.”

“Fire magic.”

Grey spoke clearly.

In a flash, before Kira could even consider blinking away, roaring wind surged violently, crashing into his elbows and launching his speed to unimaginable heights.

Fire exploded around his fist, intensifying the heat further.

At that moment, it felt as though a blazing volcano was hurtling straight toward Kira’s face at breakneck speed, leaving her no room to escape.

She could not blink away. The attack was far too fast.

All she could do was brace herself, eyes wide open, her beak twisting into a strange, almost resigned smile.

KA BANG!

KA BOOOM!

Grey’s fist tore straight through the lightning coating surrounding the phoenix, punched cleanly through her head, and smashed it into a pulverised burst of light.

The momentum did not stop there.

His strike continued onward, crashing into the mountain behind her and obliterating it entirely, reducing the massive structure into scattered rubble.

The mountain shattered completely, rocks tumbling down like a pile of debris shaken loose by a violent wind.

The ground across fifty metres split apart violently, forming a deep, stretching fissure as thick dust blanketed the battlefield.

Only the fading light from Kira’s exploding body pierced through the haze.

And that was it.

The death duel, the rematch between the Supreme Magus and the Phoenix, had ended.

Finished.

And truly dusted.
