CHAPTER 693
In a pure white space, where only a sea of pale brilliance stretched for metres on end, two figures stood calmly while observing a holographic display suspended before them.
What they were watching was Grey’s earlier battle with Z5. Every exchange, every violent clash, and most importantly, the moment he dominated his opponent and awakened his fifth affinity was replayed in vivid detail.
“Hpmh. So his fifth affinity was Spatial affinity all along, huh?”
The first mage muttered with a deep frown etched across his face.
Jim turned toward him with a raised brow, curiosity flickering in his eyes.
“You don’t seem impressed.”
Blake released a quiet sigh, lifting a hand to rub his temples as if easing a lingering headache.
“I’m kind of disappointed. I was expecting he would awaken Time or even Chaos affinity. But Spatial?” He paused briefly before adding, “It’s beyond my expectations, though not in the way you think.”
Jim’s brows furrowed even more.
“I don’t know much about these special affinity thingies. How good is his fifth affinity actually?”
Blake swiftly lifted his head, his sharp gaze locking onto the brown haired man.
“It’s good, very good. Based on what we just witnessed, it is overwhelmingly powerful. I don’t even understand how he already knows so many techniques tied to such a rare affinity. Judging from his usage, those were advanced applications.”
Jim smiled faintly, hope glimmering behind his expression.
“So does that mean he stands a chance against the Otherworlders?”
The shake of Blake’s head instantly shattered Jim’s optimism.
“He doesn’t. Not yet. But he is close, dangerously close. He only needs a little push, and I already know exactly what that push is.”
With a snap of his fingers, the holographic display vanished, the scene ending with Grey disappearing into an ashen portal to who knows where.
Jim lifted an eyebrow.
“What do you mean by that?”
Blake’s lips curved into a smile, not warm nor comforting, but the kind that concealed years of buried pain beneath its surface.
“You’re young, so you don’t know what happened long ago. All you know is that I’m one of the first generation of mages.”
He paused, a breath escaping him.
“But what you don’t know is that I’m the only one who managed to evolve into a celestial. The first mage in existence to achieve such a state, while everyone else from my generation perished during the war against the Otherworlders.”
Jim’s confusion deepened.
“I still don’t understand where you’re going with this.”
Blake’s eyes gleamed as his smile sharpened.
“I want to press the final button Grey needs. The very same button my best friend placed before entrusting me with this responsibility, just in case the hope we waited for ever appeared.”
His fists clenched tightly, his robe fluttering despite the absence of wind.
“After countless years of waiting, I have finally seen that hope in Grey.”
Jim swallowed quietly.
“Even though I can’t participate directly because of the restrictions placed on celestials, I can still influence things from the shadows.”
“So what are you planning to do?” Jim asked.
“Don’t concern yourself with that.” Blake replied calmly as he began tracing intricate symbols in the air, glowing faintly with strange power.
“I will be back.”
And with a snap of his fingers, the mage vanished from the space, leaving Jim standing alone with a deep frown etched across his face.

Deep within the Noxarian faction, inside a certain clan known as the Demonic Clan, far beneath their mountainous stronghold, their leader could be seen seated in his private chamber.
Borfan Grimvale.
He sat in a lotus position, legs crossed neatly, eyes firmly shut. The frozen volcano embedded within the chamber pulsed rhythmically, releasing wave after wave of scorching heat.
Yet, despite the oppressive temperature, not even a single droplet of sweat appeared on his skin as he remained unmoving.
Several minutes passed like that.
Then his expression shifted slightly. His eyes stayed closed, but a faint frown crept across his face.
“It is foolish of you to attempt hiding when I can sense presences so clearly,” Borfan said coldly.
“If you came here for something, state your intentions. I don’t have the luxury of wasting time.”
A deep sigh echoed through the room, heavy and deliberate.
Suddenly, a blinding white radiance flooded the chamber, swallowing the volcanic glow entirely. Still, Borfan did not flinch. He remained seated, completely unfazed, before slowly opening his eyes.
Standing before him was a figure clad in pure white.
A pristine robe draped over his body, untouched by the heat.
A long, immaculate beard rested against his chest, while his equally white hair was tied neatly into a ponytail behind his head. His presence felt calm, overwhelming, and ancient all at once.
A faint smile rested on his lips as his gaze met Borfan’s.
“Who are you?” Borfan asked as he rose to his feet, his tone guarded.
He was the leader of the Demonic Clan, one of the two greatest clans within the Noxarian faction, and he did not take intrusions lightly.
“Seth dray fledge.”
The words left the white haired man’s lips calmly.
The moment Borfan heard them, his eyes widened sharply. For the first time, a clear emotion surfaced on his face as he stared at the man before him.
“H…how do you know that phrase?” Borfan asked slowly. “Only I and…”
“And your best friend knew it,” Blake cut in smoothly, a knowing smirk forming as he wiped a lone tear from the corner of his eye.
Borfan froze.
“You knew him too?”
Blake nodded gently, his expression softening.
“Before he became your friend, he was mine. From our original world. I find it surprising that he never spoke about me.”
Borfan stayed silent, studying the man closely. Despite the unbearable heat filling the room, Blake did not sweat, did not strain, did not react.
His body emitted a soft white glow that contrasted starkly with the violent energy of the chamber.
“He didn’t explain much,” Borfan finally said. “Only that a day would come when someone would seek me out. That person would speak those exact words.”
“Two factor authentication huh,” Blake chuckled lightly. “He was always careful. Almost paranoid.”
Borfan narrowed his eyes.
“From here, I can feel your aura clearly. You are not a normal human, nor an ordinary mage. You are a celestial, correct? A god.”
Blake shook his head quickly, laughing under his breath.
“Newbies and not learning things before speaking. I’m just a celestial, not a god yet. Don’t go ahead and kill me. Wouldn’t want those old bozos to kill me.”
Borfan frowned deeply.
“What do you mean by calling me a newbie?”
Blake’s smile widened as his gaze sharpened.
“You think I wouldn’t notice? Even while suppressing your presence so thoroughly, I can already see the truth.”
Borfan’s expression hardened.
“See what, exactly?”
Blake’s grin stretched wider, filled with certainty.
“That you’re a celestial too. Obviously.”

A/N: Hey there. Fortunately, I have to upload this early and not the usual time I always do.
That’s because I have an exam early tomorrow morning and would be done late in the evening so I won’t be able to actually update.
I didn’t want to keep you all without any update hence I’m doing it now. Enjoy 🤗
