Capítulo 692: No sign of weakness: A stormy evolution!

CHAPTER 692

“Guys! It’s the Supreme Magus!”

Everybody paused, mouths agape, as they heard Alba’s urgent warning.

They froze for a moment, unable to move as their minds processed what she had shouted.

Regardless of her stunned companions, Alba darted towards Grey, sliding on her knees with urgency.

She quickly turned the warrior mage onto his back, revealing his face, and her mouth hung open as she stared at the Supreme Magus’ features.

For the first time since they had all known each other, this was the initial moment she saw him without the mask concealing his facial traits.

Seeing that Alba remained unharmed, the others bolted forward, hovering beside her. As their eyes fell upon the Supreme Magus’ face, they, too, froze in shock.

“Wait! Are we sure this is really him?” Ash asked, brows knitting tightly in concern.

“I’m sure, it’s him.” Killian replied quickly, crouching down while observing Grey wince in pain.

Despite all this, Grey remained conscious, his breathing ragged and uneven.

Judy’s lips trembled as she tried to speak, but no words came out.

No need, however, as Lilly spoke for her.

“He…he looks so young.”

“ARGHHHH!” Grey roared suddenly, his mana core vibrating violently inside him.

Trembling under the immense raw power surging and pulsing sharply within his body, his eyes widened as blood trickled down his cheeks.

His frame shuddered violently, convulsing like someone suffering a severe seizure.

“What’s going on with him?” Brook asked, concern lacing his voice.

Lance glanced down at Grey’s still-bleeding injuries.

“The more accurate question is, how did he get into this state?”

Alba shook her head quickly and gently placed Grey’s head back onto the ground.

“No time for these useless questions. We need to get him somewhere safe and find someone capable of healing him.”

Grey could hear her clearly, though his vision remained hazy and blurry.

He traced the voice to its owner and weakly lifted his trembling hand. His body continued convulsing.

“N…no… Take…take me somewhere… somewhere secure. And…and…leave me alone there. Please, hurry.”

Killian lifted a questioning eyebrow.

“Huh?”

“You heard him. Let’s do it as quickly as possible.” Alba snapped, urgency in her voice.

Immediately, Brook and Killian crouched down, helping the warrior mage to his feet.

“Take him to my workshop. There’s a secure room I always work in. No matter what happens, it can’t be easily accessed or disturbed.”

“Yeah, yeah. We’ve heard you.” Lance quickly interrupted Ash, and the group prepared to leave, moving efficiently.

“I will contact Dame. He needs to see this.” Lilly suddenly shouted, breaking from the group to handle the matter, leaving the rest to transport Grey.

—

The Crimson Lotus Clan carefully carried the Supreme Magus into Ash’s warehouse-like workshop, moving with precision as they placed him near the secure room.

Fortunately, a bed was available, and they were about to set Grey down on it.

He, however, grabbed Killian by the sleeve, shaking his head vigorously.

“On the ground. Place him on it,” Alba commanded swiftly, and the men obeyed, laying Grey carefully on the floor.

“L…le…leave!” the Supreme Magus croaked, wincing as his body twitched uncontrollably.

Someone was about to reply, but Alba shook her head, effectively dragging everyone out of the room.

They closed the door securely, leaving Grey completely alone.

‘I needed them out. I’ve been holding this in for a while. According to them, this room is soundproof, which means I can scream as much as I need without anyone hearing. I didn’t want to show any weakness.’

As the door clicked shut behind the clan, Grey convulsed once more as a fresh wave of agony crashed through him.

It felt like a tidal wave surging inside, forcing him to jerk his head upward like someone suffering a severe seizure, his mouth quivering uncontrollably.

“AHHHH! My chest!” he bellowed, the sound echoing through the room.

His heart pounded violently against his chest, each beat threatening to burst through his ribcage.

The pounding against his chest suddenly felt like it had reached his head, each beat slamming against his skull like a hammer striking metal relentlessly.

Blood poured freely from his mouth, his breathing becoming increasingly ragged as he ground his teeth together in unbearable agony.

After the initial wave of torment, another surge of pain appeared, even more intense than the previous one.

It felt as though his blood was literally boiling inside him, a searing, molten fire erupting within his veins.

Like a volcano awakened, it churned and surged violently, forcing him to slam his hands against the ground with tremendous force.

The floor shuddered violently as the earth beneath him shifted, cracking as though it were about to shatter into pieces.

“ARGHHHH!” he bellowed, his voice echoing like rolling thunder, as portals began manifesting all around him.

They flickered in and out at a staggering pace, synchronizing with each scream Grey unleashed.

His eyes now glowed an intense blood-red, the portals spiraling chaotically throughout the room.

The wind intensified, ripping through the chamber like a raging tidal wave. It battered the walls, whipped debris into the air, and tore at everything in its path.

Cracks appeared along the walls and the floor, spreading like spiderwebs as the temperature in the room dropped drastically before soaring again, creating an atmosphere that was simultaneously scorching and chilling, almost like a volatile volcano.

What he was enduring now was the agony of evolution, the intense, grueling pain a mage must suffer to ascend to the next level. Warriors had their own trials, but mages were no less tormented.

It had been long since Grey had evolved to the next star, and now, he was enduring this brutal process. Every affinity within him surged violently, ravaging the room as they purged themselves through his body.

Thick, black liquid oozed from his nose, mouth, ears, and even his eyes, foaming as it escaped. These were impurities, toxins of a mage’s body, being expelled in a relentless torrent.

With each agonized howl, the room was further torn apart, the impurities flowing from him like a raging, unstoppable river.

“Sh…shoot! Why is the pain so intense this time and lasting so long compared… compared to before! AHHHH!” he screamed, wind and portals colliding chaotically around him.

It was as if a battle of elemental forces raged inside the room, resonating with the torment tearing through his body.

Slowly, after several minutes—ten minutes of pure, excruciating pain—the pressure in the room began to recede.

The portals vanished with a final sharp snap, the howling wind dying down like a beast finally sated.

The quaking floor settled, the tremors subsiding, and Grey’s screams dwindled as his vision blurred further.

His breathing was ragged, each inhale and exhale labored like someone who had just sprinted a hundred metres at full speed.

Before losing consciousness completely, a faint, victorious smile crossed his face.

‘…I…I did it. I have evolved to the next star. And…and it seems I have ascended to the next warrior stage.’

Darkness crept into his vision as he surrendered to the deep embrace of sleep, lying amidst the river of expelled impurities surrounding him.
